Shalayna Brooke Carman Skaggs of Buffalo
Shalayna Brooke Carman Skaggs, age 32, of Buffalo, passed away, Saturday, November 1, 2014, in Bullitt County.
She was a member of Aetna Union Baptist Church in Hart County and a former preschool teacher.
Shalayna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Pearl Marcum and Harold and Sharrone Lewis.
She is survived by two daughters, Morgan and Maddie Holcomb; a son J.T. Holcomb; her father and step-mother, Terry and Tammy Carman of Buffalo; her mother, Vicki Lewis Dawley of Hodgenville; two sisters, Brittany Carman of Upton and Tegan Carman of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Joshua Carman of Mt. Sherman, Kyle Carman of Lexington and Lucas Carman of Buffalo.
Funeral services will be 1 PM (EDT) Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the Holly Grove Baptist Church, 110 Holly Grove Church Road, Magnolia, KY. Brother Junior Milby and Brother Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 12 Noon Wednesday at the Church.
Cheryl A. Slack of Buffalo
Cheryl A. Slack, age 58, of Buffalo, passed away, Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was a former waitress and a former employee of Nationwide Uniform Company.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. McDaniel.
She is survived by her husband, William L. Slack; two sons, Jason and Roger Slack both of Buffalo; a daughter, Stacy Salazar of Hodgenville; her mother, Dorothy Davidson McDaniel of Michigan; a sister, Helen Gale (Randy) Schmittou of Hodgenville; a brother, Charlie McDaniel of Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Curle officiating. Burial will follow in the Edlin Creek Cemetery near Lyons Station.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Ernest William "Bubba" Stewart, Jr. of Buffalo
Ernest William "Bubba" Stewart, Jr., age 37 years, of Buffalo, passed away, Monday, November 17, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest William Stewart, Sr. and Eva Joyce Freeland Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn Stewart, two daughters, Jordan Witt of Buffalo, and Mercedes Manning of Murray, three sons, Dalton Stewart of Florida, Derrick Robinson of Buffalo, and Harley Stewart of Hodgenville, two sisters, Monica (Leslie) Herring of Tennessee, and Teresa (Ventura) Lopez of Texas, a brother, Garry (Debbie) Swift of Glendale, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis Witt, Sr. and Wilma Witt of Magnolia, a sister-in-law, Tammy (Edward) Harris of Paoli, Indiana, and a brother-in-law, Louis Witt, Jr. of Magnolia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday, and after 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Doris Oleska of Hodgenville, formerly of Edgewood, MD
Doris Oleska, age 81 years, of Hodgenville, formerly of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at her residence.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hodgenville, and was a technical services processor for the Harford County Public Library.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Joseph Oleska, her parents, Adam and Tillie Gajdzicka Franczkowski, a daughter, Millicent Anderson, a sister, and a brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Marian Bollinger and Diane Ronkainen, four sons, Gerard Oleska, Joseph Oleska, Stanislaw Oleska, and Alexander Oleska, 20 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 24, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Edgewood, MD. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Dundalk, MD
Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon, MD.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of the local arrangements.

Marilyn Elizabeth Brown Read, age 83, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
A homemaker, she centered her life around her family, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hodgenville, the LaRue County Band Boosters and loved entertaining and hosting events for the community.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tim Read; and her parents, Brownie and Agnes Roark Brown.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Charles Read; a daughter, Nancy Read (Rusty) Roby of Newburgh, IN; a son, C.E. Read of Hodgenville; two grandchildren, Tony (Carrie) Roby and Jeremy Roby and four great-grandchildren, Annahlise, Colston, Chloe and Alexa Roby.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. George Smith and Dr. Paul Richey officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 PM Saturday and after 12 Noon Sunday at the funeral home.
