Dr. Otis Kent Back, D.D.S of Hodgenville
Dr. Otis Kent Back, D.D.S., age 86, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
After graduation from the University of Louisville Dental School, under a US Air Force contract, Dr. Back served in Germany for three years as an Air Force Dentist. He returned to Hodgenville in 1959, to take over his father's dental practice. After selling the practice he retired in 1989. A philanthropist supporting numerous charities, he was a member of numerous singing groups including the National Championship winning Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus and an avid bridge player, achieving the honor of becoming 1 of only 2 Life Master Duplicate Bridge Players from LaRue County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. A. G. and Ida Ursa Funk Back, Sr.
He is survived by a brother, A. G. (Linda) Back. Jr. of Hodgenville; a sister, Ursa Linn Coleman of Stanford, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Dr. Back's request, he was cremated and a private graveside service was held at the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
The family requests no flowers and that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the charity of your choice.

Roger Winston Wells of Hodgenville
Roger Winston Wells, age 83, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at his residence.
An Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, he was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, a master gardener and former employee of Gamble Brothers in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Keith Wells; his parents, Leslie Turner and Liza May Tate Wells; three sisters, Mary Esther Mittag, Beatrice Weinberger and Geneva Deaton and three brothers, Lewis Wells, Rev. J.C. Wells and Leslie Wells.
He is survived by four daughters, Tina Marie (Luis) Rodriguez of Elizabethtown, Phyllis Ann (Terry) Wimp of Cecilia and Norma Jean Benningfield and Deborah Gail (Kirby) Bennett both of Hodgenville; a son, Roger Dale (Melanie) Wells of Hodgenville; a sister, Rose Brown of Elizabethtown; a brother, Delma (Velma) Wells of Hodgenville; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Billy Whitlock and Bro. Josh Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM, Sunday and after 9 AM, Monday at the funeral home.
Ruby Jean Wyatt of Hodgenville
Ruby Jean Wyatt, age 81 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a former employee at Joel Ray's Restaurant and Nationwide Uniform Company in Hodgenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Carrie Longworth Wyatt and a brother, David Wyatt.
She is survived by a son, Ernie (Carolyn) Gardner of Colonial Beach, Virginia, a daughter, Martha Robins of Salt Lake City, three sisters, Aliene Dawson of Radcliff, Debbie (Calvin) Wright of Hodgenville and Wanda (James) Harkness of Linwood, two brothers, Edwin R. (Dianna) Wyatt and Wendell Wyatt both of Hodgenville, a granddaughter, Michelle Gardner and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Andrew.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. David Wortham officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will begin after 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home until time for services.
Timothy Alan Sholar of Hodgenville
Timothy Alan Sholar, age 55 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his residence.
He was a member of Round Top Baptist Church in Elizabethtown and a former employee of Gates Rubber Company in Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry and Cinda Toon Sholar.
He is survived by two daughters, Chelsea Sholar and Madison "Markuss" Sholar both of Buffalo, a son, Zac Sholar of Buffalo, a brother, Todd (Teresa) Sholar of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, a grandson, Jensen Sholar, a niece, Abby Sholar and a nephew, Harlan Pitt.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Round Top Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jerry Wayne Peace of Hodgenville
Jerry Wayne Peace, age 57, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at his residence.
He was a former employee of Publishers Printing in Lebanon Junction and owner of Papaw's Racing.
Jerry was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Hailey and Trenton Carroll; his parents, James Robert Peace and Lura Ethel Atwell; and a sister, Betty Page.
He is survived by three daughters, Melissa (Byron) Logsdon of Horse Cave, Tiffany (Jesse) Maulden and Latasha Edwards all of Magnolia; a step-daughter, Niccole Carter of Hodgenville; two step-sons, Donnie Sheroon of Buffalo and Kevin Carter of Hodgenville; two sisters, Janette Edwards of Hodgenville and Shirley Warren of Shepherdsville; six brothers, Hugh, Tommy, James and Freddie Carter all of Hodgenville, Robert Peace of Hodgenville and James Peace of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; special friends, Katie Carter and Roxann Jones.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. Herb Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Buffalo.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 PM Saturday and after 10 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
Jessie Mae Wise of Elizabethtown
Jessie Mae Wise, age 72, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Friday, July 29, 2016, at her residence.
She was a member of Union Christian Church and retired from Crucible Magnetics of Elizabethtown after 37 1/2 years of service.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Ray and Fronia Mae Hornback Wortham and a brother, Jackie Wortham.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise (Gary) Masters of Elizabethtown and Paula (Randy) White of Oklahoma; three sisters, Joanna Coffey of Hodgenville, Mary Miller of Louisville and Fay Gray of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Dan) Fugitt, Christopher Hardin, Tessa White, Shay White, Cari (Justin) Slenker, Shelby (Michael) Fields and Megan Masters; five great-grandchildren, McKayla, Bella, Daisy, Savannah and Silas.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, August 1, 2016, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. Steve Campbell and Bro. Billy Curle officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be 12 to 7 PM Sunday and after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Kassie Marie Underwood of Hodgenville
Kassie Marie Underwood, age 91, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Nationwide Uniform Company.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Underwood in 1982; her parents, Elmer Wesley and Nancy Stillwell Underwood; two sisters, Cora Alice Curry and Dortha Mae Underwood and four brothers, Rev. Edgar, Henry, Stanley and Herman Underwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Rachel Cline of Rineyville and Martha Underwood of Hodgenville; a son, David (Connie) Underwood of Hodgenville; two sisters, Virgie Thompson and Essie (Bobby) McDowell all of Hodgenville; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the Wesley Chapel Baptist Church in Hodgenville with Bro. Robert Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Monday and 10 AM to 12:30 PM Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
