Bernis Parker of Magnolia
Bernis Parker, age 93 years, of Magnolia, passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Somerwoods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Somerset.
The native of Green County was a member of Pikeview Baptist Church, and a lifelong farmer.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marilyn Sue Parker, his parents, Jack and May Vaughn Parker, a sister, Audry Shuffett, and a brother, Arvin Parker.
He is survived by his wife, of 71 years, Olan Parker, two sisters, Faye Brown of Bardstown and Geneva Burchfield of Somerset, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EDT) Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Gary Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the Aetna Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Green County.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM (EDT) until 8:00 PM (EDT) Wednesday, and after 9:00 AM (EDT) Thursday at the funeral home.
Jan Isaacs of Magnolia
Jan Isaacs, age 64, of Magnolia, passed away, Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a retired administrative assistant at Munfordville Elementary School, and a member of Powder Mills Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Grey Isaacs, a step-daughter, Carolyn Faye Isaacs, her parents, Murl and Maxine Salyers Mullins, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jessie Ephraim and Thelma York Isaacs, a sister-in-law, Roberta Isaacs, two brothers-in-law, Richard Lee Isaacs and Ray Isaacs, and a step-son-in-law, Danny Decker.
She is survived by a son, Jessie Isaacs of Magnolia, two step-daughters, Debbie Decker of Caneyville, and Shirley (Mark) Black of Elizabethtown, three grandchildren, Sara Isaacs of Magnolia, and Samantha Black and Kalica Wietstock both of Elizabethtown, three step-grandchildren, Joey Black and Josh Black both of Elizabethtown, and Timmy Black of Louisville, two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Ronnie) Sparks and Bertie Isaacs, three brothers-in-law, Leonard Isaacs, John (Becky) Isaacs, and Roger (Delores) Isaacs, two great-grandchildren, Aleja Hall and Grey Isaacs, and three step-great-grandchildren, Hunter Black, Hailee Black, and Autumn Black.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM (EDT) Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Danny Pippin officiating. Burial will follow in the Knoxes Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12 noon (EDT) until 8:00 PM (EDT) Thursday, and after 8:30 AM (EDT) Friday at the funeral home.
Hoyt R. Martin of Magnolia
Hoyt R. Martin, age 53, of Magnolia, passed away, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was a member of the Buffalo Baptist Church, retired from LG & E after 33 years of service, very involved with old cars, an avid racing enthusiast, and an avid UK fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Beckham Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Simmons Martin, two sons, Kyle (Hillary) Martin of Owensboro and Keaton Martin of Russellville, his mother, Betty Martin of Magnolia, and a sister, Kim Martin of Magnolia.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Chuck Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, and after 8:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pauline Thompson of Magnolia
Pauline Thompson, age 78, of Magnolia, passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.
She was a homemaker, member of the Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church in Hart County, Lincoln Cloggers, and a former employee of the Hart County Jail.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Evelyn Caven Vaughn, and a brother, Jimmy Ray Vaughn.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Thompson, two daughters, Beverly (Eddie) Riggs and Pat Noe all of Magnolia, a son, Michael Thompson of Magnolia, four grandchildren, Stephanie Noe, Krystal (Aaron) Williams, Brittany (Cory) James, and Chad Riggs, and three great-grandchildren, Katelyn Williams, Brooklyn Williams, and Zak James.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Roger Pepper and Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday, and after 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Leonard E. "Joe" Jaggers of Hodgenville, formerly Hart Co.
Leonard E. "Joe" Jaggers, age 84, of Hodgenville, formerly of Hart County, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
He was an Army veteran of WWII; a former driver for Greyhound and a lifelong farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Emanuel and Ella Mae Denton Jaggers; a sister, Mary Elizabeth McGavis and a great-great-granddaughter, Annabella Marie Conory.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Logsdon Jaggers; five children, Judith Jaggers Coxey of Hodgenville, Gail Jaggers (Travis) Skaggs of Elizabethtown, Sheila K. Jaggers (Brian) Stinson of Sonora Steve (Janet Karnes) Jaggers of Magnolia and Kimberly Jaggers of Hodgenville; ten grandchildren, Shane Gonterman, Tina Chatoney, Ashley Hinson, Brandon Perkins, Bradley Perkins, Jessica Jaggers, Emily Jaggers, three special grandchildren, Chasity Gonterman, Brittany Padgett and Mason Griswold; three brothers, Larry, Mark and Buster; a neice, Jean Brown; three half-sisters, Linda, Brenda and Ramona; a special cousin, Thelma Melvin; thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon (ET), Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Terry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.

Dorothy Crump Bale Duffy of Elizabethtown
Dorothy Crump Bale Duffy, age 91, of Elizabethtown, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Kensington Manor Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, former member of Beechwood Baptist Church in Louisville and was retired from Citizens Fidelity Bank in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Arvin Bale and Frank Garvin Duffy; a son, Kenneth G. Bale; an infant daughter, Janice M. Bale; her parents, Claude and Lizzie Crump; a great-granddaughter, Jordan Berger; a brother, Marvin Crump and a sister, Magdaline Wright.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Graber of Magnolia and Edna Berger (Charles) Hall of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, Georgia Krampien of Chicago, IL, William A. (Jill) Graber of Grand Rapids, MI, Teresa Graber-Zito of Tiffin, OH, Todd (Cindy) Berger, Sherry (J.T.) McAdams, Troy (Laura) Berger and Trevor (Michelle) Berger all of Elizabethtown and Shanna (Mike) Rucker of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Margo Bale of Bowling Green; five sisters, Alviene Hines, Dixie Brooks, Virginia Goff, Edna Scott and Herschel Miller; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Charles Darland officiating. Burial will follow in the Aetna Grove Church Cemetery.

David Wayne Devore of Hodgenville
David Wayne Devore, age 61, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
He was baptized at Three Forks Bacon Creek Church. A life long farmer, he was retired from Gates Rubber Company and took advantage of each day and lived life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Arvel and Nettie Marie Knight Devore.
He is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline (James) Newton of Buffalo, Lisa Childress of Hodgenville and Jessica (Sterling) Lehotta of Mt. Washington; six grandchildren, Anthony, Brandon and Allen Stinnett, Lindsey Cowles and Justin and Logan Childress; two sisters, Carolyn Rock of Horse Cave and Sharon (Kerry) Bunnell of Munfordville; one brother Gary Devore of Linwood; the mother of his children, Connie Lobb of Hodgenville and his special pals, Chance and Gizmo.
