Sarah Salt Jackson of Hodgenville
Sarah Salt Jackson, age 89 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Friday, December 6, 2013 at her residence.
She was retired from the Naval Ordnance Plant in Louisville after several years, attended Ovesen Heights Baptist Church in Hodgenville, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Jackson, a son, Tom Miller, and her parents, Edgar Thomas and Frances Johnston Salt.
She is survived by a son, David N. (Dicey Combs) Miller of West Liberty, a sister, Mary Elizabeth Ragland of Hodgenville, a brother, Frank (Nancy) Salt of Florida, four grandchildren, Nathan (Bahar) Miller of West Liberty, Ryan Miller of Morehead, Michael (Soo) Miller of Los Angeles, California, and Sarah Miller of Louisville, three nieces, and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Mike Akridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday, and after 11 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Dorothy Gardner of Buffalo
Dorothy A. Thomas Gardner, age 93, of Buffalo, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Leslie Gardner; a daughter, Ilene Gardner Engle; a son, Marion Leslie "Junie" Gardner, Jr.; her parents, Claude and Mae Sourwine Thomas; a sister, Anna Smith and three brothers, Bill, Archie and Joe Thomas.
She is survived by two sons, Don (Lisa) Gardner and Fred (Judy) Gardner, all of Elizabethtown; a son-in-law, Jimmie Engle of Mt. Sherman; a sister, Delores Thomas of Pasadena, CA; a special friend and caregiver, Audrey Logsdon of Buffalo; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Rodney Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 PM, Monday and after 9 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
John L. "Jackie" Peace of Magnolia
John L. "Jackie" Peace, age 83 years, of Magnolia, passed away, Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence.
He was a member of the Magnolia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, retired from LG & E, and a lifetime farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sallie Matt Druen Peace, a sister, Clotilde "Teal" Puckett, and two brothers, Herbert E. Peace and Bobby G. Peace.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Peace, a son, Terry (Angela) Peace of Magnolia, two sisters-in-law, Mary Edith Peace and Wanda Faye Peace both of Magnolia, a brother-in-law, Leonard (Doris) Shipp of Louisville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Travis Sharpe and Rev. Anthony Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, and after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Diane Gipson of Linwood
Diane Gipson, age 64, of Linwood, passed away at 10:50 AM, Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow with her family by her side.
She was a member of Knoxes Creek Baptist Church, retired from Nationwide Uniform in Hodgenville and was a charter member of the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacey Lea Gipson; her parents, William Herbert and Alma Maeola Knight Close and a sister, Charlotte Puckett.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles Gipson; two sisters, Jean Kidd of Hardyville and Brenda (Johnny) Pruitt of Louisville; three nieces, Melissa Kidd, Beth Allen and Rachel Bradley and four nephews, Rick Pruitt, Ashley Puckett, Eric Pruitt and Dewayne Kidd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, (ET), Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Darrell Hensley and Bro. Dewayne Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Knoxes Creek Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 PM (ET) Friday and after 10 AM (ET) Saturday at the funeral home.
Foster Lee Druen of Elizabethtown, formerly of Louisville
Foster Lee Druen, age 77 years, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Louisville, went to join our Heavenly Father on August 8, 2012 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born in Linwood, Kentucky on October 20, 1934 to William "Bill" Druen and Mary Helen Walsh Druen. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Ronnie Druen.
He was a dedicated employee for 30 years at the Bass Company in Louisville, and retired after 15 years at Boland Maloney in Crestwood.
His kind and giving heart touched all that knew him. The loss of such a good man will be felt far and wide.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Doris Coffman Druen, a daughter, Kimberly (Terry) Fields of Elizabethtown, a son, Steven (Dona) Druen of Magnolia, two sisters, Jean Adwell of Horse Cave and Doris (Lee) Harrison of Linwood, a brother, Melvin Druen of Linwood, two grandchildren, Cassandra Jones and Brandon Bunnell, three step-grandchildren, Bradley Isaacs, Tia Fields, and Zeb Fields, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Flossie Dillon, age 86, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at her daughter's residence.
She was a housewife and a member of the Powder Mills Baptist Church in Hart County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew "Andy" Dillon; her parents, Morten Lewis and Annie Madden Lewis Clark; four brothers, Curt, Jim, Arvil and Jessie Lewis and a half-sister, Clair Chaudoin.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Robin) Baird, Andra (A) Wells and Bettie (Wayne) Stinson all of Magnolia; a son J.C. Slayton of Munfordville; a sister, Rose (Ronnie) Gentry of Green County; a brother, Hubert (Doris) Lewis of Hart County; a sister-in-law, Doris "Sissie" Lewis of Elizabethtown; 11 grandchildren, Cheyenne Baird, Asia, Ameera and Ameena Wells, Erik Perez, Terry (Jennifer) Gardner, Eddie (Beverly) Riggs, Jamie (Stephanie) Slayton, Derick (Ashley) Slayton, Jama Rodriquez and Brian (Shelia) Stinson; 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Dennison of Hodgenville
Robert Dennison, age 72, of Hodgenville, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at his residence.
He was a retired Iron Worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Cora Hazalip Dennison; a sister and two brothers.
He is survived by a daughter, Belinda Dennison of Hodgenville; a son, Robert "Robbie" Dennison, Jr. of Hodgenville; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Michael Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Hodgenville.
