Granville Rudolph Close of Horse Cave
Granville Rudolph Close, age 79 years, of Horse Cave, passed away, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at his residence.
He was a retired barge worker for the Port of Louisville, and was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Robert and Nannie Ermine Fultz Close, four sisters, Jessie Alberta Gossett, Ora Mae Hill, Lola Close, and Louise Close, and three brothers, Otis Close, Richard Close, and Herbert Close.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EDT) Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia. Burial will follow in the Pikeview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM (EDT) Tuesday until time for services.
Ronald Odell Metcalf of Hodgenville
Ronald Odell Metcalf, age 62 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was a retired construction worker with Chick J M Company in Bowling Green, an avid University of Louisville Cardinal fan, a hunter, fisherman, and an arrowhead collector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Metcalf and Irene Thompson Metcalf, and a brother, Roger Elmer Metcalf.
He is survived by a sister, Brenda (Willie) Boblitt of Hodgenville, a niece, Melissa (Scott) Gardner of Magnolia, a nephew, Michael (Charaye Routt) Milby of Hodgenville, a great-niece, Peyton Gardner, and two great-nephews, Dylan Milby and Jake Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EDT) Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM (EDT) Saturday, and after 9 AM (EDT) Sunday at the funeral home until time for services.
Woodrow Wilson Chelf of Magnolia
Woodrow Wilson Chelf, age 85 years, of Magnolia, passed away, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his residence.
He was a member of Pikeview Baptist Church, currently serving as their only deacon, a retired truck driver and farmer, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. W.L. and Ida Mae Druen Chelf, two sisters, Jessie Chelf and Ruth Woods, and two brothers, Harvey Chelf and James Chelf.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Dye Chelf, three daughters, Julie (Mark) Burba of Pikeview, Karen (Ed) Downs of Hodgenville, and Holly (Jeff) Lindquist of Redwood City, California, two sons, Tim (Marla) Chelf and Franklin Chelf both of Glasgow, a sister, Frances McCoy of Elizabethtown, seven grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Gowen, Kristi (Chad) Riggs, Tyler (Lindsay) Chelf, Eddy (Megan) Downs, Bryan Downs, Tom Lindquist, and Annika Lindquist, four great-grandchildren, Cayson Riggs, Raylee Riggs, Bram Chelf, and Teddy Downs, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EDT) Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Phillip Buckner and Rev. Gary Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pikeview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM (EDT) Saturday, and after 9 AM (EDT) Sunday at the funeral home.
Margie Milby Price of Magnolia
Margie Milby Price, age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a housewife who loved working in her roses, a member of Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, the Magnolia Lions Club and the Gideon's International Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry Shelby Price; two daughters, Theresa Nell Price and Phyllis June Price; a great-grandson, Weston Lee Wade; her parents, Hugh Roosevelt and Ruth Elizabeth Milby, and a sister, Illa Dean Milby Lobb.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma (David) Wade of Harrodsburg; three sons, Jerry (Brenda) Price, Clay (Pam) Price and Neal (Laura) Price all of Magnolia; a foster son, Monroe Coffey of Hodgenville; two sisters, Mazie Lucado and Henrietta (Ed) Burkhardt; two brothers, Carlos (Judy) Milby and Morris (Mary) Milby; twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (ET), Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Buffalo Church of the Nazarene with Bros. Andrew Singh and John Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery in Green Co.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 PM (ET), Friday at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia and after 10 AM (ET) Saturday at the church.

Bryon Daniel Druen of Edmonton, formerly Magnolia
Bryon Daniel Druen, age 43, of Edmonton, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 in Glasgow.
He was a construction worker for Team Construction of Nashville, TN.
He is survived by a son, Zachery Dalton Druen of Cub Run; his parents, William J. and Jennie L. Druen of Magnolia; his fiance' Gloria Gordon and her son, Lucas of Edmonton and four siblings, Laurie (Gary) Ertel of Vero Beach, FL, Debbie (Todd) Chaney of Horse Cave, William H. (Tammy L.) Druen of Magnolia and Joshua Druen of Denver, CO.
Bryon was cremated and a memorial service will be held at 5 PM (ET), Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Gary Talley officiating.
Visitation begins at 3 PM (ET), Saturday at the funeral home.

Clyde Hildreth Dodson of Hodgenville
Clyde Hildreth Dodson, age 78 years, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Kensington Manor Nursing Center in Elizabethtown. He was born on April 12, 1937, to the parents of Samuel and Tensiline Woods Dodson.
He was retired from General Electric, a retired farmer, and a member of the Hodgenville Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Agnus Dodson, Margaret Lane, Beatrice Coons, Juanita Sturgeon, Bernice Coop and Sylvia Logsdon, and a brother, Veachel Dodson.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Garrison Dodson, two daughters, Louise (Carey) Sontag of Glendale and Debra (Danny) Carter of Lawrenceburg, two sons, Clyde Wayne (Clara) Dodson of Elizabethtown and Richard Dale (Tita) Dodson of Hodgenville, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EDT) Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with David Matthews officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 PM (EDT) at the Bon Ayr Cemetery in Barren County.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM (EDT) Wednesday, and after 12 noon (EDT) Thursday at the funeral home.
Janice Bowen of Magnolia
Janice Tabb Bowen, age 76, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of the Magnolia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as church organist for over 60 years. The Valedictorian of the Magnolia High School Class of 1956 retired from Magnolia Elementary School as Secretary after 32 years of service. Janice was an avid band mom; a member of the Magnolia Lions Club and the LaRue County Homemakers and volunteered for the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site and the Lincoln Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Bowen and her parents, Leon and Orene Druien Tabb.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry (Doug) Akin; two sons, Shaun (Laura) Bowen and Shannon (Bethany) Bowen; eight grandchildren, Aleshia Akin, Taylor Akin, Andrew Bowen, Keiren Bowen, Keeahna Bowen, Kellen Bowen, Molly Priddy and Travis Priddy and a great-grandson, Bryson Priddy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bros. Bill Macy and Anthony Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 PM, Monday and after 10 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
