SCIENCE HILL - Sylvia Delano, 78, of Kings Mountain died Wednesday in Edgewood.
Born Feb. 24, 1922, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Lula Richardson Moran. She was a homemaker and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Don C. Long; a son, C.W. Thomas of Bellevue; a daughter, Carolyn Cross of Edgewood; three brothers, Paul, Richard and Al Moran, all of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Brown.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Hatter. Burial will be in Grove Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Elsie B. Meredith
LIBERTY - Elsie Barnett Meredith, 89, of Cincinnati died Tuesday at Hospice of Cincinnati.
Born Oct. 7, 1910, in Adair County, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Myrtie Humble Barnett. She was a homemaker and the widow of Mont H. Meredith.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin J. and Junior E. Meredith, both of Cincinnati; a daughter, Marlene L. Lake of Cincinnati; two sisters,
Elizabeth Payne of Cincinnati and Flossie Carey of Russell Springs; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Patton. Burial will be in Pellyton Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Harold I. Miller
LOUISVILLE - Harold I. Miller, 82, of Louisville, died Thursday at his home.
Formerly of Danville, he was owner of the old Cinderella store in Danville.
He also was owner of Milleris Cinderella in Lexington and Miller's of Kentucky in Louisville. He was a graduate of University of Alabama and had been a major in Air Force intelligence branch during World War II. He was a member of The Temple and Standard Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kaufman Miller; a son, Bruce Miller of Louisville; a brother, Raymond Miller of Canton, Ohio; and two grandsons.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Herman Meyer and Son Funeral Home.
Visitation is 2 p.m. Sunday until time of service.

Services for Ruby Elizabeth "Liz" Smith, 62, of McClure Drive were today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Shockley. Burial was in

She died Tuesday in a traffic accident on Ky. 34.
Born Jan 1, 1938, in Danville, she was a daughter of the late James and Ruby Lee Long Young. She was a cashier at Shoneyis restaurant.
She was a graduate of Kentucky Business College, Barrett School of Hair Design and Danville High School. She attended Faith Fellowship Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Michelle Southworth of Junction City, Tawana Stuart of Danville and Maniki McElroy of Lexington; a son, Michael McElroy of Fort Myers, Fla.; a grandson whom she was raising, Christopher Grey of Danville; and 10 additional grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ed Southworth, Larry Long, Jeremy Wofford, Jeff Houston, Ray Clark and Robbie Young. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Wofford and Shoney's employees.
Memorials may go to Danville Boyle County Rescue Squad.

LANCASTER - Services for Franzel Coffey, 77, of Harmonis Lick Road will be 6 p.m. Saturday at Harmonis Lick Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in the Saylor family cemetery.

Born July 27, 1922, in Upton, he was a military veteran.

Billy Johnson Jr.
William I. “Billy” Johnson Jr., 76, of Park Hills Drive died Wednesday in Lexington.
Born April 27, 1924, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late William I. and Verna Wesley.
He was a retired employee of Corning Glass/Philips Lighting Co. He was a Presbyterian, and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Tanner Johnson; a son, William I. Johnson III of Cincinnati; and four step grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Eric Mont.
There will be no visitation.

She died Tuesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 23, 1908, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Hansford and Iva Turner Newby. She was a clerk at Ruby’s Jewelry Store and a
member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and weekly Bible study for several years. She was the widow of John M. Burkhead.
She was a former pianist for Willisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mabel Goode of Batesville, Ind.; a brother, J.H. Newby of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Blanche Alsip of Harrodsburg and
Mary Riley of Mercer County; three grandchildren; and two great -grandchildren.

LIBERTY -- Gene S. Buck, 65, of Ky. 1859 died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 24 1934, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Jasper O. and Mary Ann Hayes Buck. He was a retired general contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gibson Buck; two daughters, Bernice Coffman of Hustonville and Sheila Wethington of Liberty; two sons, Johnnie Buck and Randy Buck, both of Liberty; two brothers, Wayne Buck of Liberty and Mickie Buck of Detroit, Mich.; five sisters, Frances Troop of Somerset, Hazel Franklin and Jane Sommers, both of Liberty, Minnie Kidd of Detroit, and Polly Whited of LaGrange; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Buck.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Jesse Long. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.
