Melissa Hunter Whittemore of Magnolia
Melissa Ann Hunter Whittemore, age 42, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at her residence.
She was the owner and operator of Decades Restaurant and the Magnolia Mission Store; a member of Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church near Magnolia; member and secretary of the Magnolia Lions Club and was an avid supporter and volunteer for numerous local charities.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marvin Leslie Davis and her paternal grandfather, J. S. Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Whittemore; a daughter, Beth Sanders and her fiance' Elijuh Davis of Magnolia; her parents, Allen D. and Donna F. Hunter of Magnolia; a sister, April (Tony) Wells of Magnolia; a brother, Dale (Alana) Hunter of Buffalo; her maternal grandmother, Rebecca Davis of Magnolia; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Hunter of Bedford, VA; two nieces, Brooklyn Wells and Hailey Wells and a nephew, Jacob Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM (ET), Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Revs. Gerald Gardner and James Crim officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 PM (ET), Tuesday and after 10 AM (ET), Wednesday at the funeral home.
Martha Bell Corbin Parrish of Magnolia
Martha Bell Corbin Parrish, 88, the wife of the late Bro. Audray Jesse Parrish, of Magnolia, KY, went home to be with her Savior, husband and family gone before her on Friday the 20th of May, 2016 at the Hart County Nursing Home.
She was born on the 31st day of July in 1927, to the late Frank and Nora Sneed Corbin and married
the love of her life on the 18th day of October 1947. As long as health allowed she was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church #1 of Jonesville, KY. She spent her life in enjoyment serving the Lord with all she had while supporting her husband as a Baptist Minister, being a great home maker and raising her children and grandchildren. Living her life was a tough road but she always made the best of what God gave her, she strived to mention every one of her great family every day in prayer and left it all in God's hands. No doubt her great family will continue to reap the benefits of the prayers spoken from the heart of this wonderful woman. She lived her life with little blemish thanks to God above, it would be hard to ever know a more perfect person. The one thing that she ever feared was the thought of someone in her reach was not going to make it to Heaven with her. Ask yourself how did this great woman influence your life?
She was proceeded in death by her husband; A.J. Parrish; an infant son, Daniel Parrish; two grandchildren, Kimberly Parrish and Valerie Lyons Wiggins; two great grandchildren, James Vaughn and Andre Parrish; six siblings (one brother in infancy), Ollie Corbin, James Corbin, Mary Gowen, Irene Crawhorn and Dorothy Petty and one son in law, Ronnie Furkin.
She is survived by ten children, five sons and five daughters; Rachael (Sam) Lyons of Enid, OK, Patty (Carroll) Wilson of Glasgow, Leon (Marianne) Parrish of Martinez, GA, Eddie (Teresa) Parrish of Sonora, Edith (Phillip) Ogle of Columbia, Owen Parrish of Elizabethtown, Russell (Kathy) Parrish of Magnolia, Phillip (Cindy) Parrish of Louisville, Nora (Ronnie) Cruse of Hodgenville and Elizabeth (Steve) England of Mt. Washington; 38 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; a brother, Arnold Corbin of Columbia and a sister, Frances Coomer of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM (ET), Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Tom Downey and Bro. Dwayne Lobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Memorial Church Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM (ET), Sunday and after 9 AM (ET), Monday at the funeral home.

Arthur William "Artie" Kaleher, III of Summersville
Arthur William "Artie" Kaleher, III, age 67, of Summersville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at his residence.
He was a retired postal worker and a Navy Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Kaleher and his parents, Arthur William and Lois M. Livers Kaleher, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Michael (Heather) Kaleher of Charlotte, NC; two step-sons, Kenneth Wayne Sloan and Anthony Dwight (Crystal) Sloan, all of Summersville; five grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM (ET), Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with his family and friends officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will begin at 3 PM (ET), Friday at the funeral home.
Boyce Ray Skaggs of Louisville, formerly of Green County
Boyce Ray Skaggs, age 85, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
Boyce retired from Phillip Morris in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Slayton Skaggs; his parents, Moody and Nola Durrett Skaggs; three sisters, Virgie Boston, Clarene Berry and Wilmadean Lutterell and three brothers, Kenneth, Athel and Quay Skaggs.
He is survived by a daughter, Angie (Joe) Polston of Louisville; a son, David Ray Skaggs of Louisville; a sister, Ellouise Moore of Louisville; four grandchildren, Heather (Robby) Davis, Zackary Skaggs, Alexa Polston and Caleigh Polston and one great-granddaughter, Nora Everly Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (ET), Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Rodney Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery near Magnolia.
Visitation will from 2 to 6 PM (ET) Sunday and after 10 AM (ET) Monday at the funeral home.
Arnold Lobb of Jonesville
Arnold O'Neal Lobb, age 81, of the Jonesville community near Magnolia, passed from this earthly life on the afternoon of October 4, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. Arnold was born on February 7, 1935 at Pikeview to the late Bowling Hebert and Thelma Mae Buckner Lobb. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Lobb and Harlan Lobb.
Arnold was married
to Ruby Christine Slayton Lobb for more than 60 years and they have one daughter, Deborah Gayle Lobb Murray and her husband Paul Ray Murray; two grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Murray and her husband, Dustin Scott Wunderlich and Alek Brandon Murray and two great-grandchildren, Nola Rae Wunderlich and Maya June Wunderlich.
Arnold and Christine were agency managers for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance in Munfordville for more than 40 years, retiring in 2005. He farmed in Hart County for his lifetime on land that originally belonged to his grandfather and loved being outside with his Angus cattle and watching the crops produce each year. Arnold has had hobbies that interested him through the years which included riding and showing his walking horse, Colonel; fishing, collecting antique tractors, clogging, square dancing, being with friends and neighbors along with working on his farm equipment and gardening. He also loved his dogs, Ralphie, Freckles and Tuxie.
Arnold professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Friendship #2 Baptist Church, later becoming a member at Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church. He loved listening to gospel music and being with the people in his church. When he could make other people smile by telling funny stories, it gave him joy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (ET), Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Revs. Gerald Gardner, Roger Pepper and James Crim officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM (ET), Friday and after 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
Virginia Ellen Vass of Hodgenville
Virginia Ellen Vass, age 88 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her residence.
She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell R. Vass, Jr., her parents, James and Grace Lacey Thompson, two sisters, Arlene Stafford and Norma Walton, and three brothers, Eugene Thompson, Woodrow Thompson, and Robert Thompson.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Simmons of Hodgenville, Barbara (Emmitt) Quigley of Pennsylvania, and Joyce Wilson of North Carolina, two sons, Alan (Junora) Vass and Stephen (Michelle) Vass both of Hodgenville, three sisters, Margaret Brown and Patricia Mosca both of Connecticut, and Barbara Blanchard of Florida, a brother, James (Maria) Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Lebanon National Cemetery with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating.
A time of fellowship and receiving of friends will take place following the interment at the family farm from 2-4 PM at 1274 Dangerfield Rd., Hodgenville, Kentucky.
