Marie Coffey of Magnolia
Marie Blair Coffey, age 81, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
A homemaker, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ethel Graham Blair; three brothers, Charlie, Donald and Leon Blair and six sisters, Grace Allen, Lela Miller, Alice Ann Blair, Juanita Underwood, Lydia Sutton and Elizabeth Delarosa.
She is survived by her husband, James "Ham" Coffey; a daughter, Mary Lee (Lynn) Atteberry of Clinton, IL; two grandchildren, Derek Atteberry, of Weldon, IL and Amy Workman of Clinton, IL; four great-grandchildren, Claudia Workman, Cordell Workman, Kristin Atteberry and Andrew Atteberry; two sisters, Dora Sutton of Auburn, IL and Reba Bateson of Clinton, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cosby Cemetery in Hart County.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Monday and after 9 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Gordon of Hodgenville
Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Gordon, age 85 years, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Born in Cloverport, Kentucky, Mrs. Gordon was retired from teaching at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School, where she introduced scores of first and second graders to the three "R's" for seventeen years. Before that she was a teacher's aide at Hodgenville Elementary School. She began her work career as the operator of Betty's Beauty Shop in Park City, Kentucky. A talented artist, Mrs. Gordon was interested in painting, crafts, gardening and sewing. She was a member of Sacred Threads at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, where she was a parishioner for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Homer Gordon, her parents, Adam and Helen Henning, a sister, Jacqueline Raffauf and two brothers, Louis and John Henning.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane (John) Roberts and Debbie (Dwayne) Whitlock both of Hodgenville and Teri Grimes of Bradenton, Florida, six grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Anthony, Emily (Nathan) Ernst, Ben (Angela) Roberts, Casey (Daniel) Sidebottom, Michael (Morgan) Grimes and Katie Roberts, nine great-grandchildren, Evie and Hank Ernst, Raegan and Camden Sidebottom, Wesley Grimes and Addie, Audrie, Allie, and Annie Roberts, a sister, Lois Henning of Hodgenville and a brother, Jerome (Bernadette) Henning of Loganville, Georgia.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hodgenville with the Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Private family interment will follow in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, where there will be a prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue at 9 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Roy Lee Meredith of Hodgenville
Roy Lee Meredith, age 83 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
He was retired from Phillip Morris in Louisville, an Army and an Air Force veteran, an avid NASCAR fan, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Meers Meredith, his parents, Emmett Lee and Idell McGrew Meredith, two sisters, Joyce Meredith and Leona Chambers, and three brothers, Elmer Lewis "Pete" Meredith, Joe Meredith, and John Meredith.
He is survived by two sisters, Patsy (Harold) Cook of Stephensburg, and Dolores "Dolye" Wooden of Clarkson, a special companion/caregiver, Betty Peace of Hodgenville, and a sister-in-law, Margie Parker of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Eric Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 PM Saturday, and after 9 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
Marie Devore Catlett of Sonora
Marie Devore Catlett, age 96 years, of Sonora, passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Barren Run Baptist Church, and a retired caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Durrett Clymer, William Leighton Hazel, and Jim Henry Catlett, a granddaughter, Robyn Leigh Hazel, her parents, Robert "Bob" and Meda Bolton Devore, two sisters, Roberta Devore and Ethel Cruse, and a brother, Charles Devore.
She is survived by two sons, Ron (Sharon) Hazel of Chicago and Jimmy (Marilyn) Catlett of Sonora, four grandchildren, Jeff (Lisbeth) Hazel, Michael Hazel, David (Deanna) Catlett, and Laurie Beth Catlett, and two great-grandchildren, Sarah Marie Catlett and Leah Claire Catlett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Bruce Underhill officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Run Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 PM Saturday, and after 11 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
Nancy Elizabeth Ogden Sutherland of Buffalo
Nancy Elizabeth Ogden Sutherland, age 80 years, of Buffalo, passed away, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, a retired secretary at Buffalo Elementary School, former employee at the ASCS Office in Munfordville, and the former secretary of Kentucky Golf Equipment in Buffalo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Joshua and Annie Lee White Ogden, and two brothers, Joe Ogden and James Ogden.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Sutherland, a daughter, Karen (Eric) Adkins of Hodgenville, a son, J.T. Sutherland of Elizabethtown, three grandchildren, Erica Adkins, Crystal Harman, and Thomas Harman, and a brother, Carl (Doris) Ogden of Cave City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Roger Pepper and Bro. Mike Akridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-8 PM (EST) Tuesday, and after 9 AM (EST) Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary "Rita" Riordan of Lexington, South Carolina
Mary "Rita" Riordan, age 82 years, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Agape Hospice House in Columbia, South Carolina.
She was born May 2, 1933 to the late James Leon and Mary Regina Nally Downs. She retired from Dow Corning Corporation in Elizabethtown after 27 years of service.
Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. Riordan, a daughter-in-law, Cindy Nunn and a sister, Margaret Regina Roberts.
She is survived by her daughters, Delores Mae (Mark) Morgan of Lexington, South Carolina and Barbara Ellen (Mike) Gregory of Wolcottville, Indiana, her sons, Carl "Butch" Edward Nunn of Upton and James "Jimmy" Leon (Valerie) Nunn of Hodgenville, step-children, Dorothy VanBrussel of Louisville, Mike Riordan of Madisonville and Tom (Robin) Baker of Nashville, Indiana, a sister, Martha Ann Clark of St. Francis, a brother, Joseph A. (Corine) Downs of Bardstown, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Billy Curle officiating. Inurnment will follow at 2:30 PM at the Riordan Family Cemetery in Pascal.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM Monday at the funeral home until time for services.
Harold Ray Underwood of Hardyville
Harold Ray Underwood, age 65, of Hardyville, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
An Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era, he retired as minister of Green's Church of Christ and as a school bus driver for the Hart County School System.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Underwood in 1992; his parents, Duell and Effie Howell Underwood and two brothers, Leonard and Curtis Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Caffee Underwood; two sons, Kenny (Wendy) Underwood of Horse Cave and Clay (Stephanie) Underwood of Madison, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Mason, Chloe, Tatum, Waylon, Alexis, Shelby, Keenan and Nora Underwood; two sisters, Wanda (Daniel) Brewer of Hodgenville and Gayle (Brad) Travis of Elizabethtown and three brothers, Russell (Josephine) Underwood of South Carolina, Dennis Underwood of Columbia and Wayne (Mary) Underwood of Alaska.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon (ET), Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Raymond Castillo and Phillip North officiating. Burial will be in the Fountain Run Cemetery Thursday afternoon and a fellowship meal will follow at approximately 5 PM (ET), at the Hardyville Community Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 (ET), Tuesday, from 9 AM to 9 PM (ET) Wednesday and after 9 AM (ET) Thursday at the funeral home.
