Emma Wells of Linwood
Emma Laura Wells, age 56, of Linwood, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a homemaker, a member of Powder Mills Baptist Church and the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hassell Pippin and two brothers, Wayne and Rickey Lee Pippin.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Wells; a son, Jason Wells of Linwood; her mother, Hazel Pippin of Linwood; three grandchildren, Thomas Hunter Wells, Braylen Wells and Caleb Poteet; a brother, Danny (Marlene) Pippin of Linwood and two sisters, Janet (Ralph) Carroll of Linwood and Stella (Robert) Rumsey of Elizabethtown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (ET) Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bros. Danny Pippin and Leo Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in the Linwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 PM (ET) Thursday and after 9 AM, Friday at the funeral home.
Olive "Ollie" Sansoucy of Magnolia
Olive "Ollie" Sansoucy, age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Canada then moved to Connecticut in 1946 with her family and became a US Citizen. Later she moved to Florida with her family and became the manager of a Singer Sewing Machine Company Store, after retiring she moved to Vermont and made her dream of owning a horse come true. Then in 1995 she moved to Magnolia. Ollie loved raising a big garden and having lots of flowers and bushes growing around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eyeas and Marie Sansoucy; her sister, Aline Leze and her brother-in-law, Bill Leze. Also waiting for her at the rainbow bridge are Smoky, Ginger, Boots and Lucky.
She is survived by her longtime friend, Gwynn Domke; three nieces, Deborah Lyman, Maureen Engle, Darla Dumonte and their families; two great-nieces, Allison and Taylor; her wonderful friends, Lynn and Kimball Rogers, Anne and Adam Helm, Geri and Ben Johnson, Martha and Welton Sanders, Donna and Allan Hunter, David Domke, Elizabeth Schuett, Carolyn Lyman, Chris and Rene' Desjourdy and Carol Shults and her beloved dogs, Misty and Aza.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Deacon Joe Chathaparampil officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Magnolia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Friday and after 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
Betty Jean LaFollette Strader of New Haven
Betty Jean LaFollette Strader, age 77 years, of New Haven, passed away, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a farmer and homemaker, member of Union Christian Church, and a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Strader, her parents, Arvin and Bertha Mae Atherton LaFollette, two sisters, Connie Carter and Edith LaFollette, six brothers, Larry, Gary, Phillip, Donnie, Glenn, and Junior LaFollette, and a nephew, Jeremy LaFollette.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Glenn) Trumbo of Hodgenville, and Jonathan Strader McClure of New Haven, a granddaughter, Jordan McClure of New Haven, a step-grandson, Cody Trumbo of Elizabethtown, three sisters, Alberta Thompson and Elsie Cundiff both of Hodgenville, and Faye LaFollette of Elizabethtown, two brothers, Floyd (Janus) LaFollette of Hodgenville and Roger (Carolyn) LaFollette of New Haven, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Union Christian Church with Bro. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Sunday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, and after 11 AM Monday at the church until time for services.
Sharon Talley Bowman of Magnolia
Sharon Talley Bowman, age 53, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and a friend to all, she was a member of the Three Forks Bacon Creek Baptist Church; a 1979 graduate of Hart County High School and a graduate of Sullivan University.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fraudie Talley.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny T. Bowman; a son, James Bowman of Magnolia; her mother, Lillian Talley of Magnolia; seven siblings, Howard (Marilyn) Talley of St. Louis, MO, Luther Franklin (Leslie) Talley of Titusville, FL, Glinda (Jack)Talley Hill of Washington, NC, Beatrice (J. Robert) Mahan of Blacksburg, VA, Roger Talley of Columbus, OH, Damon (Janet) Talley of Hodgenville and Lavada (John) Wells of Indianapolis, IN and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM (ET), Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Roger McGuffin officiating. Private burial will follow in the Hammonsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM (ET) Thursday and after 10 AM (ET) Friday at the funeral home.

Charlie Chelf of Magnolia
Charlie J. Chelf, age 87, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, at his caregivers residence in Greensburg.
He was a lifelong farmer; a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a 65 year member of Gavel Lodge #570 F&AM; in Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Wathen Chelf; two sisters, Maxine Evans and Betty Rives and two brothers, Fred Chelf and Walter Chelf.
He is survived by his wife Allene Chelf; three sons, Shannon (Rebecca) Chelf of Glendale, John Chelf and Fred Chelf, both of Magnolia and three grandchildren, Corey Chelf, Matt Chelf and Ryann Chelf.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Mt. Sherman with Rev. Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation begins after 10 AM, Monday at the church.

Hershell Lang Jaggers of Magnolia
Hershell Lang Jaggers, age 75, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Kensington Manor Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Burrell and Delia Mae Fults Jaggers; a sister, Rebecca Miller and a brother, Oden Dwayne Druen.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Jaggers; three sons, David, Jeff and Brian (Karen) Jaggers; a grandson, Brad Jaggers; a sister, Jamie Wright of Summersville and two brothers, Donald Jaggers of Munfordville and Bobby Jaggers of Greenfield, IN.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM (ET), Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Hammonsville Cemetery with Bro. Neal Price officiating.

Christine Brown Salsman of Magnolia
Christine Brown Salsman, age 90, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of the South Fork Baptist Church, a homemaker and enjoyed baking, quilting and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Salsman; her parents, Mayes and Bessie Gardner Brown and four brothers, Claude, Jess, Robert and Leon Brown.
She is survived by her son, Carrell (Joyce) Salsman of Magnolia; a grandson, Barry (Donna) Salsman of Buffalo; a sister, Stella Wells of Buffalo; four great-children and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Gordon McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the South Fork Church Cemetery.
