Mavis Greer Brown of Hodgenville
Mavis Greer Brown, age 87, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and retired from GE in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Brown in 1979; a son, Mitchell Brown in 2014; a sister, Marjorie Harbin and two brothers, Austin and Otis Greer.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (Janice) Brown of Elizabethtown; a grandson, Dewain Brown and a great-grandson, William.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with burial to follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Wednesday and after 9 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.
Aileen Stearman of Hodgenville
Aileen Stearman, age 87, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at her residence.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville and retired from the Kentucky Department of Human Resources. Cooking and feeding people was Aileen's language of love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Stella Nunn Duckworth and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Eudell Stearman; a son Dale (Gina) Stearman of Louisville; a granddaughter Kelli Stearman, two special nieces, Dana Sprowles and Lisa Martin and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Rodgers and Dr. Paul Richey officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.

America Eloise Dye of Hodgenville
America Eloise Dye, age 73, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Handley Dye; a son, Eugene Bauer; her parents, James Henry and Frances Jane Montgomery Bishop and a brother, Frank Bishop.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Jane (Nolan) Leatherwood and a son, Ronald Bauer all of Columbus Georgia; two sisters, Linda (Charles) Hall of Tennessee and Joyce Bishop of Hodgenville; a brother, Charles (Sherry) Bishop of West Point, KY; two grandchildren, Ashley Mae and Christopher "George" (Elizabeth) and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Ashton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, March 27, 2016, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Pastor Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 11 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Elmer Jackson "Jack" Purvis of Hodgenville
Elmer Jackson "Jack" Purvis, age 80, of Hodgenville, went to be with our Lord, March 23, 2016.
He was born January 26, 1936, in LaRue County and was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church since 1945. He served in the US Army and retired from Armour Creamery after 28 years of service. During his retirement, he worked at TACK for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Milton and Sylvia Warren Purvis and a son, Mark Allen Purvis.
He is survived by his children, Ray Purvis and Dana (Clint) Merritt all of Hodgenville and Tammy (Brian) Combs of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren, Ben Purvis, Brad Purvis, Allen Purvis, Abigail Warren, Collin Pepper and Katie Pepper all of Hodgenville and Brandi (Andrew) Bowen of Magnolia and two great-grandchildren, Ariel Madeline Underwood and Logan James Pepper both of Hodgenville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Carlos Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.

Iona Love of Hodgenville
Iona Love, age 69, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was of the Christian faith and retired as a waitress from Jerry's Restaurant in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nellie May English Howard.
She is survived by two sons, Doug (Rhonda) Best and Arnold Best all of Glendale; two sisters, Vickie Howard of Elizabethtown and Denise Williams of Tennessee; one brother, Jaron Howard of Ohio; three grandchildren, Eric McGee, Daniel McGee and Tanisha McGee and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Chaplain Steve Priddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.

Lorena Mae Catlett Russell of Hodgenville
Lorena Mae Catlett Russell, age 92, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a homemaker, seamstress, gardener, member of the Magnolia Homemakers and Magnolia Elementary PTA. She served as a former coordinator of the Community Action Agency Senior Center in Hodgenville, was a coordinator of the LaRue County Red Cross Blood Drive and was the proud recipient of a World War II emergency teaching certificate. Lorena was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hodgenville, Senior Adult Choir and all the senior ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Russell, her parents, Ed and Cynthia Mather Catlett, a son-in-law, David Heady, a grandson, Jonathan Heady, four sisters, Gladys Maier, Catherine LeGrande, Evelyn McCubbin and Betty Rose and four brothers, Raymond Catlett, Jim Catlett, Loyd Catlett and Harding Catlett.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Russell Heady of Hodgenville, Gwen (Bill) Russell Yarbrough of Elizabethtown and Sheila (Kevin) Russell Fow of Shelbyville, a son, Eddie (Sherry) Russell of Harrodsburg, three brothers, Arvil (Tootsie) Catlett of Magnolia, John (Bernice) Catlett and David (Gerri) Catlett both of Elizabethtown, eight grandchildren, Matt (Toni) Heady, Dan (Amanda) Heady, LeAnn (David) Yarbrough Malin, Amy (Russ) Yarbrough VanZant, Rachel (Luke) Russell Jackson, Ben Russell, Addie (Spencer Curry) Fow and Lindsey Fow, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. George Smith and Dr. Paul Richey officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.

Joseph Daniel "J.D." Watts of Hodgenville
Joseph Daniel "J.D." Watts, age 15, of Hodgenville, passed away, Friday, March 18, 2016 at his residence.
He was a sophomore at LaRue County High School, where he was a member of the wrestling, cheerleading, football and baseball teams. He was aspiring to be an astrophysicist and attend Western Kentucky University.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Sue Freeman Watts.
He is survived by two sisters, Amber (Chris Hansen) Watts of Hodgenville and Mallory Watts of Frankfort, his father, Joseph Robert (Carolyn) Watts of Lawrenceburg, his grandmother, Clara Jobe of Louisville, a special niece and nephew, Emily and Leo Hansen and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 730 Tonieville Rd. Hodgenville, KY with Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will begin after 2 PM Tuesday at the church until time for services.
