Clyde L. Leathers
Services for Clyde Lionel Leathers, 70, of Liberty, formerly of Danville, will be 2 p.m. Thursday Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Drake. Burial will be in Buffalo Spring Cemetery.
He died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct., 27, 1930, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Granville and Gabitha Peek Leathers. He was a security guard at Matsushita for 30 years, widower of Goldie Hall Leathers, attended Alum Springs First Church of God; and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Croushorn of Danville and Lois Clements of Danville; a step mother, Isa Mae Miller Leathers of Danville; three brothers James Leathers of Stanford, Jerry Leathers of Danville and Jack Leathers of Birmingham Ala.; three sisters, Ruth Rankin of Danville, Shirley Spears of Danville and Judy Hollon of Gravel Switch; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will Clyde Austin, Bob Day, Stuart Hutchinson, Kenny Short, Billy Leathers, and Johnny Shears.
Honorary pallbearers are guards at Matsushita.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Rosie Carr Baker. She was a homemaker, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the widow of Arthur Caton Jr.
She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary June Wade of Harrodsburg, Sue Inman of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Nancy Maddox of Mercer County; a brother, Maurice Bob Maker of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Lettie McCroskey, Frances Divine, Margaret Curtsinger and Barbara Logue, all of Harrodsburg; and six grandchildren.

Celesta Shoemaker
LIBERTY -- Services for Celesta Shoemaker, 75, of Kings Mountain will be 7 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home. A private burial service will be held later.
He died Monday at her home.
Born April 12, 1925, in Yosemite, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Anna Thompson Bastin. She was a cook for the Casey County school system, a member of Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and the widow of Stanley R. Shoemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda E. Walker of Candler, N.C.; two brothers, Raymond Bastin of Louisville and Chester Bastin of Yosemite; a sister, Ruth Cline of Danville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Garry Shoemaker.
Pallbearers will be Leslie and David Walker, Phillip Shoemaker, Laramie Barber, David Rice and Gary Spicer.

Martha Hill
Martha "Mattie" Hill, 88, of J.E. Woods Drive died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 15, 1912, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Less and Lula Brown. She was a member of St. James AME Church and a homemaker. She was the widow of George T. Hill.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Daugherty and Lula Graves, both of Danville, and Mary Smith of Louisville; two sisters, Betty Brown of Danville and Elizabeth Mudd of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James AME Church by the Revs. Kenneth Clay Sr. and Keith Mayes. Burial will be in Tuckers Hill Cemetery in Marion County.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Furman, J.W. Robinson, Coleman Singleton, David Caldwell, Miles Bailey, Bryan Robinson, Marvin Hall and Richard Caldwell.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

James S. "Buddy" Johnson
James Samuel "Buddy" Johnson, 83, of Johnson Branch Road, Parksville, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 17, 1917, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Hiram N. and Brady Ferrell Johnson. He was a farmer and a serviceman and installer for Parksville Water District. He had been owner of Johnson's Grocery on Parksville Knob and was a member of Parksville Knob Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Simpson Johnson; a daughter, Mary Johnson King of Parksville; two sons, Tom Johnson and Glen Johnson, both of Danville; three sisters, Doris Ayres of Lincolnton, Ga., and Betty Johnson Lee and Shirley Berax, both of Florence; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parksville Knob Baptist Church by the Revs. J.R. Fields and Harley Humfleet.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Myah Nicole Tucker, 2-day-old daughter of Steven and Candis Naron Tucker of Fields Street, Lancaster, died Friday at University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Louis T. Broyles
PERRYVILLE -- Louis T. Broyles, 84, of Old Lebanon Road died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 11, 1916, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Willis and Maggie Reynolds Broyles. He was a retired employee of R.R. Dawson Bridge Co., served in the Army during World War II, and was a member of Mitchellsburg United Methodist Church and Battlefield American Legion Post 301. He was the widower of Zeffer McDermott Broyles.
Survivors include a stepson, JoPat Preston of Perryville; two nieces who were his caregivers, June Holt and Ann Broyles, both of Perryville; and a sister, Edna McCarter of Tennessee.
