Carl Handley Hornback, Sr., 73, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Tuesday, October 03, 2006 at his home.

He was a veteran of Vietnam and Korea.

He is survived by his three sons, Carl Hornback, Jr. of Radcliff, KY, Johnny Lee Hornback of Elizabethtown and Larry Hornback of Rockledge, FL; a step-daughter, Tina of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Services and visitation will be private.

Burial will be in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY.

Carol Marie Slone
Age: 61

Carol Marie Slone, 61 of Radcliff, KY, died Saturday, September 30, at her home.

She taught piano and was the pianist for St. Mary of the Woods Parish in Whitesville, KY.

She taught music at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Radcliff for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Slone of Radcliff; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly Michelle and Donnie Logsdon of Louisville, KY; two sons, Brent David Slone and his wife Casonya L. of Louisville and Brian Cody Slone of Radcliff; and one granddaughter, Celecia A. Slone.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 A. M. (CST) on Saturday, October 14 at St. Mary of the Woods Parish, 10534 Main Cross, P. O. Box 1, Whitesville, KY 42378.

Rev. Patrick Bittel will be officiating.

A gathering of friends and family will follow at the parish.

Loyd Raymond Pickerell

Loyd Raymond Pickerell, 81, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Monday, October 09, 2006 at his residence.

A native of Larue County, he retired from Phillip Morris Tobacco Company and later, retired from farming in Hardin Co.

He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran and received the following ribbons and awards: American Area Campaign Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Area Campaign Ribbon with two bronze stars, Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign ribbon with two bronze stars and World War II Victory Ribbon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Brewer Pickerell; one sister, Gracie Underwood; and two brothers, William Pickerell and Ralph Pickerell..

He is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Candy and Barry Davis of Carmel, IN, Janet and Lester Hack of Elizabethtown, Loraine and Fidencio "T" Trejo of Lexington, KY; six sons and their wives, Garry and June Pickerell of Hodgenville, KY, Daniel and Elizabeth "Charlie" Pickerell of Buffalo, KY, Curtis and Sharon Pickerell of Elizabethtown, Tipton and Amy Pickerell of Vine Grove, KY, Christopher and Betty Pickerell of Elizabethtown, Travis and Catrina Pickerell of Elizabethtown; a sister, Dorothy Howell of Hodgenville; two brothers, Edwin Pickerell of Hodgenville, Virgil Pickerell of Buffalo; twenty-two grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Radcliff, KY with Rev. Dewey Keys officiating.

Burial will be in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff with military honors.

The visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P. M. and on Thursday after 9:00 A. M. at the funeral home.

MSG (retired) Charles Loyd Dyer, 76 of Radcliff, KY, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Radcliff.

He retired from the United States Army, a veteran of Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor.

His memberships include: the Church of Christ, where he was an Elder for more than twenty years and he was most recently an Elder at the Elizabethtown Church of Christ; and the Honorable Kentucky Colonels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Oma Dyer; his sister, Catherine Mullinix; and his three brothers, Kenneth, Ventrice and Edsel Dyer.

He is survived by his wife, Lavelle Rich Dyer; one daughter, Susan Kay Dyer of Radcliff; his son and daughter-in-law, Charles David and Linda Dyer of Radcliff; one grandson, Andrew David Dyer of Radcliff; two granddaughters, Jessica Lee and Bethann Dyer both of Radcliff; a brother, Lindsey Dyer of Ridgetop, TN; his sister-in-law, Lina Lee of Radcliff; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Rich of Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M., Friday, April 1, 2005 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with Elders Henry McAlister, Mike Pence and Rick Whobrey officiating.

Burial will be in the North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff with military honors.

The visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. and on Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon.

Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 110, Louisville KY 40218.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Prather.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve Prather and his spouse Carol of Vine Grove, Kevin Prather and his spouse Troy of St. Petersburg, FL, and Joey Prather of Elizabethtown, KY; a brother, Ricky Newton and his spouse Rhonda of Rineyville, KY; a sister, Kathryn Brangers and her spouse Tommy of Rineyville, KY; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, in Vine Grove.

Burial will be in Ridge Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Rineyville.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Friday after 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
