George E. Price
MORELAND -- George Edwin Price, 69, of Moreland died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Born Jan. 7, 1931, in Lincoln County, he was son of the late Estil and Eva Merriman Price. He was a retired mechanic at ATR and a former employee of Farmers Tobacco Warehouse and Whitehouse and Humphrey Farm Machinery. He was an Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge and a deacon of Moreland Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Beeler Price; a daughter, Cheryle Ursprung of Moreland; a sister, Louise Bowles of Lexington; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Moreland Christian Church by the Rev. David Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John White, Roy Russell, Waitman Beeler, Anthony Beeler, Brian Beeler and Todd Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Myers, Dale Ashcraft and deacons and elders of Moreland Christian Church.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Kathleen M. DeRossett
LEXINGTON -- Kathleen M. DeRossett, 70, of Lexington died Tuesday.
Born in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Coker Mobley. She was a retired clerk stenographer with the Postal Service and a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and the Sweet Adeline's.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce G. DeRossett; a son, Michael DeRossett of North Middletown; a daughter, June Virgen of Nicholasville; five brothers, Ernest and Garnett Mobley, both of Harrodsburg, and Minor Mobley of Dublin, Ind., Hanley Mobley of Mercer County and Howard Mobley of Cornishville; two sisters, Cornett Reynolds of Harrodsburg and Joyce Britton of Cornishville; a caregiver, Vickie Hamm; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland by Byron Jessup. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

William H. Goatley
SPRINGFIELD -- William Hubert Goatley, 82, of Lebanon Road died Tuesday at Spring View Hospital.
Born July 15, 1917, in Washington County, he was son of the late Edward S. and Myrtle Virgin Goatley. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Springfield Mason Lodge 50 F&AM, a Royal Arch Mason and a former member of the Springfield Fire Department where he had been chief. He was a retired employee of the Springfield Water and Sewer Co., with 30 years of service as superintendent. He also served as a weather observer for the National Weather Service.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Homan Barr Goatley; a son, Greg Goatley of Springfield; two daughters, Billie Reynolds of Lawrenceburg and Mickie Hayes of Danville; a stepdaughter, Janine Stubblefield of Springfield; a stepson, Jack Barr of Versailles; a sister, Thelma VanArsdall of Springfield; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine "Tootsie" Goatley, a granddaughter and a step granddaughter.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Springfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Clay Stevens. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today with a Masonic service at 8:30 p.m. at Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Friday.
Memorials may go to Springfield-Washington County Rescue Squad.

Elsie M. Phillips
HARRODSBURG -- Elsie Mann Phillips, 84, of North East Street, formerly of Junction City, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1916, in Prestonsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Nancy Spradlin Mann. She was a former owner and operator of Slo's Restaurant in Junction City; a member of Junction City First Baptist Church and the widow of Ralph W. "Slo-Motion" Phillips.
Survivors include four sons, Ross Phillips of Lexington, Tom Dick Phillips of Harrodsburg, David Phillips of Warsaw, Ind., and Chuck Phillips of Junction City; three daughters, Nancy Cornish of Harrodsburg, Ruth Whyde of Indianapolis and Rita Isham of Harrodsburg; a brother, Charles P. Mann Jr. of Warsaw, Ind.; a sister, Venus Dixon of Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas, Hunter, Ray and Robbie Phillips, Ryan Coatney, Leigh Lance, Heath and Larry Whyde Jr.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Violet Vaughn
LIBERTY -- Violet Vaughn, 91, of Russell Springs died Tuesday at her home.
Born June 1, 1909, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Sarah Bell Henson. She was a retired employee of Batesville Casket Co., a member of Russell Springs Order of Eastern Star and Antioch Christian Church. She was the widow of Ola Vaughn.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Vaughn of Russell Springs; four stepsons, Hershel, Preston and Melvin Byrd, all of Indiana, and Addis Byrd of Florida; a stepdaughter, Ivadean Fogel of Indiana; a brother, Preston Henson of Dunnville; three sisters, Adell Smith of Russell Springs, Lela Patton of Junction City and Hattie Hudson of Dunnville.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Bryce McCulley, Carroll Egnew and Paul Patton. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Edgar M. Strevels Jr.
Services for Edgar Martin "Junie" Strevels Jr., 52, of Parksville, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Keith Willoughby and Don Drake. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
He died Tuesday in Marion County.
Born March 17, 1948, in Boyle County, he was a son of Edgar and Reva Presley Strevels of Parksville. He was a member of Alum Springs First Church of God.

STANFORD -- Services for Emery Lee Wilson, 91, of Logan Avenue will be 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Lynn. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Jan 26, 1909, in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Edgar F. and Pearl Steward Wilson. He was involved in tobacco insurance and sales until his retirement in 1992. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater. He also served in the Kentucky General Assembly 1958-1960. He was deacon emeritus at Stanford Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catheryne Wilson; a son, Dr. Emery A. Wilson of Lexington; a sister, Lutie Layson of Millersburg; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Sallee, K.R. Gordon, Tom Powers, Ottis Cave, Lewis Nunnelley, Clyde Austin, Donald Cain and Harold Kelley.

William W. Lane
Services for William "Billy" Wayne Lane II, 38, of Douglas Avenue, Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Barry Jeffries and Billy Rhodus. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died June 21 in Boyle County from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash.
Born Nov. 29, 1961, in Garrard County, he was a son of William W. Lane of Lancaster and the late Clara Lee Lakes. He was an employee of Dana Corp. and a former employee of ATR.
Other survivors include his wife, Melody Carey Lane; maternal grandmother, Margaret Lakes of Lexington; four half sisters, Deanna Phillips of Tuscon, Ariz., Kim Dailey and Dana Hensley, both of Lancaster, and Billy Jo Phillips of Stanford; three stepsisters, Lori Barrett, Julie Hensley and Karen Amon, all of Lancaster.

Eric W. Moore
PERRYVILLE -- Eric Wayne Moore, 22, of Mitchellsburg Knob Road, Parksville, died Monday of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Ky. 34, west of Parksville.
Born April 12, 1978, in Mercer County, he was a son of the Rev. Larry and Evelyn Coffman Moore. He was an employee of the packaging department at the Huntsman Packaging Co. He was a 1997 graduate of Boyle County High School where he was a football player, and was awarded in 1995 the 110 percent award. In 1996, he was named defensive lineman of the year . He also set the record for most tackles in a season and was an All-State honorable mention. He was a member of Mitchellsburg Church of God.
Survivors include three brothers, Larry Moore Jr. of Junction City, and Derrick and David Moore, both of Mitchellsburg; paternal grandparents, Joyce Houser of Florida and William "Buddy" Moore of Lawrenceburg; maternal grandparents, Obert and Maxine Coffman of Mitchellsburg and Kenneth and Louise Coffman of Perryville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mitchellsburg Church of God. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Larry and David Moore, and Bill Rowland, Joe Burchett and Michael Thornton.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the church.
