Jack D. Spencer, 78, a resident of Cynthiana, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Edgemont Manor.
He was born in Ashland, Ky., Jan. 26, 1925, to the late Ellsberry Lee and Adda Wilson Spencer. He was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Turner Spencer, Vernon Spencer, and Martin Spencer, and three sisters, Onie Spencer Garrison, Gladys Spencer, and Goldie Spencer.
Survivors include: his best friend, Carrie Tilton of Harrison County, and a friend, Connie Fugate of Cynthiana.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 14, at Ware Funeral Hme by the Rev. Kevin Baker. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Tola Williams, 76
Tola Williams, 76, a resident of Clifton Village, Cynthiana, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Edgemont Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Harrison County, June 21, 1928, to the late Melvin and Lizzy Cason Wells. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Williams; a son, Melvin Daniel Dowd; and two brothers, Wallace Wells and Grover Wells.
Survivors include: a son, Roger Allen Dowd of Lebanon, Ohio; a daughter, Ernestine Williams; two grandchildren, Wesley Allen Dowd and Crystal Dowd; a special friend, Brenda Dawson of Cynthiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Gary McQuain. Burial was in Pythian Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Scaggs, Donnie Rosenbaum, Larry Wells, Hoyt Burns and Montgomery Northcutt.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Ronnie Dean Burden Sr.
Ronnie Dean Burden Sr., 58, a resident of Oak Ridge Road, Cynthiana, formerly of Robertson County, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
He was born in Robertson County, Dec. 9, 1945, to the late Luther Thomas Burden and Mary Golden Burden Fryman. He was a 32-year veteran of the Cynthiana Fire Department and retired as assistant chief, was administrator of Brown Ambulance Service for 24 years and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Christian Church and the Cynthiana Elks Lodge 4438.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Perry Burden, and two sisters, Anna Mary Burden and Betty Pearl Burden Sadler.
Survivors include: three sons, Ronnie Burden Jr. of Cynthiana, Mark Burden of Paris, and Danny Ray Burden of Harrison County; a daughter, Melissa Hamilton of Cynthiana; three brothers, James Burden, Robert Burden, and Donald Burden, all of Robertson County; two sisters, Bonnie Thielfoldt of Cucamonga, Calif. and Barbara Jefferson of Germantown; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Aug. 30 at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. George Combest. Burial was in Piqua Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Marino, David Mahorney, Garnett Lucky, Gary Kearns, Richard Davis, Rick May, Terry Stinson, Jay Sanders and Gary Slade.
Honorary pallbearers were past and present Cynthiana Fire Department and Brown Ambulance personnel.

Helen Hamilton Brooks England, 73
Helen Hamilton Brooks England, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Trilogy Health Center in Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Harrison County, May 28, 1931, to the late Omer and Daisy Miller Brooks. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kenneth "Beef" England; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sallie Rudd England Lowe and Roy W. Lowe; a sister, Nellie Brooks; four brothers, Everett Brooks, Kenney Brooks, Johnnie Brooks and Oscar Brooks; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their son, Jesse , Amo and Stanley England.
Survivors include: her daughter, Beverly Joy England of Cynthiana; her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Glenyce England of Cynthiana; two sisters, Zona Brooks Palmer and Barbara Brooks Malone both of Cynthiana; two brothers, James T. Brooks of Cynthiana and Stanley Brooks of LaGrange; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pauline and James Marshall of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 24 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. William G. Brown. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Donald Clay Brooks, Michael Brooks, Johnnie Brooks, Jr., William Oscar Brooks, Greg Palmer and Steve Malone.

Charles Desha "Hammer" Wiglesworth, 53
Charles Desha "Hammer" Wiglesworth, 53, of Carlisle, formerly of Harrison County, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at his residence.
He was born in Harrison County on April 8, 1951, to the late Martin and Mary Louise Wiglesworth. He was a farm manager and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include: two sons, Shay A. Wiglesworth and Dean C. Wiglesworth, both of Sadieville; a stepson, Ben Gann of Cynthiana; two brothers, Billy Ray Wiglesworth of Carlisle, and James Garnett Wiglesworth of Cynthiana and a sister, Jean Martin Brown of Cynthiana.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at Ware Funeral Home. Burial was in Morgan Cemetery in Pendleton County.
Pallbearers were Clint Wiglesworth, Nick Wiglesworth, Jason Broan, Charles Mitchell, Rick Smith, Leslie Wiglesworth, John Arnold and Noel Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were Sherman Whitaker, Dean Peak, Billy Martin, John Phillips and Don Cook.
Thelma Nichols, 93
Thelma Nichols, 93, of Cynthiana, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at Trilogy Health Center in Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 21, 1911 in Harrison County to the late George and Mary Burden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Nichols and one son, John Frank Nichols.
Survivors include: four sons, Charles Nichols of Fort Worth, Texas, Hershel Nichols of Lexington, Millard Nichols of North Middletown, Ky. and Albert Nichols of Cynthiana; six daughters, Loraine Cress of Lexington, Garnetta Lynam of Arizona, Ester Harris of Independence, Ky., Elanora Day of Florida, Mae Banks of Middletown, Ohio and Margret Nichols of Cynthiana; one sister, Lorie Harrington of Harrison County and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 at Kentontown Cemetery. Kain and Kabler Funeral Home in Mt. Olivet was in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Midden Taylor, 101
Elizabeth Midden Taylor, 101, of Cynthiana, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at Edgemont Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Harrison County, July 1, 1903, to the late Louie Walter and Mary Kauffman Midden, she was a retired insurance agent and owner of the Elizabeth M. Taylor Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, of which she was a member of the Alter Society. She was a Cynthiana High School Graduate, attended Eastern Kentucky State Teachers' College and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davis "Zeke" Taylor; a sister, Katherine M. Weaver and a brother, Louis E. Midden, Sr.
Survivors include: three nieces, Anabel Midden Giles of Harrison County, Peggy Midden Gregg of Atlanta, Ga. and Mary Louis Parks of Portland, Ore.; two nephews, Aaron W. Midden of Ardmore Okla. and Louis E. Midden II of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Winifred Midden of Cynthiana and several great nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 at St. Edward Catholic Church by Father John Sterling. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2004 at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery.
