Wanda Ann Taylor, 64, Bedford, died July 31, 2003, at Baptist Hospital North East, LaGrange.
Born in Marion County, Taylor retired from Brown and Williamson. She was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Joseph Henry and Mary Pauline Mattingly Bland; a brother, Lawrence Bland; two infants; and two sisters, Evelyn Williams and Frances Slater.
Survivors include: a brother, Greg Bland of Campbellsville; and four sisters, Joyce Williams of Lebanon, Lula Graves of Springfield, Marilyn Yaste of Shepherdsville and Faye Yaste of Louisville.
A funeral Mass was held Aug. 4 at St. Lukes Catholic Church with burial in Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Louisville.

Elizabeth Eleanor Hill Ballard, 86, San Bernardino, Calif., died July 29, 2003, at Redlands Health Care Center in Redlands, Calif.
Ballard was born Dec. 12, 1916 in Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lohman Ballard; two daughters, Yvonne Benny and Elaine Ballard; and her parents, William Robert and Lucy Cambron Hill.
Survivors include: three daughters, Marilyn Cobb of San Bernardino, Calif., Laverne Montano of Highland, Calif. and Marita Carter of Fair Oaks, Calif.; four sons, Lohman "Buck" Ballard, Jr., Jerry Ballard and Sherman Ballard, all of San Bernardino, Calif., and Joseph Otho Ballard of San Clemente, Calif.; two sisters, Rose Guzman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Zita Brill of Arlington, Va.; three brothers, Robert Hill of Fern Creek, Benedict Hill of Newport News, and Joe Hill of Bardstown; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Aug. 4 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral, Bardstown, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Bill Medley officiated.

John Mercer "Johnny" Robertson Sr., 76, Gravel Switch, died at 4:26 p.m. July 31, 2003, in Hustonville.
Born Sept. 15, 1926, in Marin County, Robertson was a farmer and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Ollie Mae Mounce Robertson; parents, Clarence and Minnie Smothers Robertson; and a sister, Katherine Routin.
Survivors include: a son, John "Buddy" Robertson Jr. of Lebanon; three daughters, Jackie Young and Sandy Gibbons, both of Stanford, and Karen Lawhorn of Hustonville; a brother, Junior Robertson of Gravel Switch; seven grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 2 at Boslwy Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Ryder Cemetery. Revs. Jerry Lanham and Clellan Hays officiated.
Active pallbearers were Bobby, Chad and Barry Robertson, Joshua Young, Brad Gibbons and Brandon Lawhorn.

Jewel Marie "Julie" Bowling, 69, Louisville, died at 1:45 p.m. July 30, 2003, at Norton Suburban Hospital, Louisville.
Born Dec. 19, 1933, in Loretto, Bowling was a former crossing guard for St. Martha School in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Martin Bowling Jr.; father, Augustine Miles "Gus" Smith; and mother, Mary Margie Cambron Smith.
Survivors include: a daughter, Lura Bowling of Louisville; two sons, James Martin "Bubba" Bowling III and David F. Bowling, both of Louisville; three sisters, Jeanette Greenwell, Margaret Ann Miller and Phyllis Jamison, all of Louisville; a brother, Johnny Smith of Loretto; and four grandchildren.

Hazel Rawlings Roberts, 103, Parksville, died May 20, 2003, at Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born Aug. 11, 1899, in Marion County, Roberts was an agent for L&N; Railroad and played organ and piano at movie theaters during the silent movie era. She was a member of Parksville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Roberts; parents, Brack B. and Maude Penn Preston Rawlings; and two daughters, Georgia Arnold and B.B. Holton.
Survivors include a stepson, Roland Roberts of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. May 23 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, with burial in Parksville Cemetery. Rev. Ron Moroni and Dennis Hisle officiated.

Born Feb. 1, 1915, in Louisville, Beaven was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Charles Fabian Blanford; second husband, George Beaven; parents, John Tyler and Della Mae Cecil Edelen; three sisters, Carmel E. Borders, Sister Maurita Edelen and Valeria Bass; a brother, William C. Edelen; two half-sisters, Glessie Blinco and Mary T. Spayd; a half-brother, Earl Edelen.
Survivors include: three daughters, Della Marie Craig, Myrna Ann Miles and Marlene Blanford, all of Louisville; a son, William Edward Blanford of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held May 23 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Rev. Joseph R. Hemmerle was chief celebrant and Sister Mary Ellen Curl assisted.
