Eva Sue Brussell, 54, Oak St., Lebanon, died at 6:45 p.m. April 15, 2003, at her residence.
Born Dec. 12, 1948, in Marion County, Brussell was an employee of TG Kentucky and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Jerry Brussell of Lebanon; a son, Joseph Dale Brussell of Elizabethtown; parents, Harold and Catherine Helen "Cappie" Bland Rogers of Lebanon; three brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Louisville, Joe Vern "Pokey" Rogers of Lebanon and George Michael Rogers of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two sisters, Gloria Jean Purdom of Harrodsburg and Thelma Ann Miles of St. Francis.
Funeral services were held April 18 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Lebanon, with burial in the church cemetery. Father Jerry Bell officiated and Deacon Joe Ray Dant assisted.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy, George Michael, Kevin, Joe Vern and Austin Rogers and Bruce Purdom.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Collins, Jessica, Ashley, Holly and Lyndsey Rogers, Carla Purdom, Eva Miles, Diane Depappa, Halla Bright, Kim Lewis, Sue Robinson, DeAnn Miles, Kathy Epps, Debbie Craig, Carolyn Morgerson and Katie Miles.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.
Velma Watson Burchell, 85
Velma Watson Burchell, 85, Burchell Lane, Bradfordsville, died April 18, 2003, at Norton Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
A native of Casey County, Burchell was a homemaker and seamstress.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, David Burton and Mattie Ann Jones Watson; two brothers, John Berry and Edwin Pete Watson; and three sisters, Geneva and Ruby Watson and Edna Lynn.
Survivors include: a son, Jessie David Burchell of Bradfordsville; a daughter, Phyllis Ann Burchell of Mackville; a sister, Adell Coffman of Liberty; and four grandchildren-Robert Dale Burchell, Jessica Kurtz and Billy Clyde and Merinda Sanders.
Funeral services were held April 21 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Delane Pinkston officiated.
Pallbearers were Jerry Courtwright, Billy Sanders, Doug Lewis, Josh Allen and Donnie and Glenn Watson.

Wilbert L. Chappell, 64
Wilbert L. Chappell, 64, Nazereth Road, Bardstown, died April 16, 2003, in Bardstown.
Chappell was a retired Army Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Albert and Elasticate Chappell; and three brothers, Melvin, James and Charles Chappell.
Survivors include: his wife, Georgie Chappell of Lebanon; two sons, William D. and Wilfro Chappell, both of Bardstown; five sisters, Gene, Dot, Juanita, Alberta and Josephene Chappell; and a brother, Claude Ray Chappell of Texas.
Funeral services were held April 21 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery. Bro. Allen Keene officiated.
Pallbearers were Johnny, Frankie and James E. Woodcock and Charles Styles.

Mary Elizabeth Smith, 90
Mary Elizabeth Smith, 90, Springfield, died at 5:08 p.m. April 15, 2003, at her residence.
A native of Washington County, Smith was a housewife and member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blandford Smith June 23, 1978; and parents, James and Mary Jo Dowling Nally.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas B. and Joseph B. Smith Jr., both of Springfield; six daughters, Ora Jane Johnson of Louisville, Lillian Ruby, Dorothy Faye and Edna Lucille Smith and Margaret Rose Raikes, all of Springfield, and Mary Jo Knopp of Calvary; a sister, Mary Kelty of Bardstown; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 21 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery. Revs. James Murray, O.P., and Bernard Smith, O.P., officiated.
