Lonnie Thomas Short, 82
Lonnie Thomas "Tom" Short, 82, Lebanon, died at 11 a.m. Feb. 18, 2004, at Norton Hospital, Louisville.
Born Dec. 29, 1921, in Burnside, Short was a retired employee of Centel Cable TV.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Lita Mae Vaughn Short; a son, Bill Short; a grandson, B.J. Short; parents, Richard Stark and Ethel Davis Short; a brother, Mack Short; a half-brother, Earl Davis; a sister, Katherine Flowers; and a two half-sisters, Geneva Snow and Acy Shadeon.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sue Thomas of Calvary and Bonnie Farmer of Campbellsville; two sons, Mike Short of Lebanon and Bob Short of Perryville; a brother, Richard Short of Somerset; three sisters, Lola Phillips of Winchester, Ruby Delaney of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Aline Bagwell of Roebuck, S.C.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Bosley Funeral Home with burial in Ryder Cemetery, Lebanon. Rev. Victor Stansbury officiated.
Pallbearers were Robert Rogers, Chad Farmer, Scott Barlow and Ricky, Richard and Lee Thomas Short.

Thomas E. Mattingly, 52, Fern Creek, Louisville, died Sept. 25, 2003.
Mattingly was a former maintenance supervisor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Coulter Mattingly; a son, Chris Mattingly; a daughter, Michelle Corbett; a brother, Pat Mattingly; two sisters, Huberta Potter and Ollie Purdom; and a granddaughter.
The funeral Mass was held Sept. 27 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Louisville, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

John Reuben Blandford, 95
John Reuben Blandford, 95, died at 7 a.m. Sept. 21, 2003, at St. Francis Nursing Center, Loretto.
Formerly of Raywick, Blandford was born Sept. 15, 1908, in Washington. He was a farmer and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by: his father, John Blandford; mother, Lyda O'Daniel Blandford; a son, Richard Hennessey "Ricky" Blandford; and a grandson, Joseph Donald "Donnie" Blandford.
Survivors include: his wife, Flossie Wooley Blandford of Lebanon; nine daughters, Joanne Wiley of Crandell, Ind., Terri Simpson of Bardstown, Elaine Miles, Veronica Baumer and Mahala Siegel, all of Louisville, Angela Puckett of Elizabethtown and Charlene Nugent, Diane Mattingly and Cabrini Gordon, all of Lebanon; four sons, Johnny C. Blandford of Bardstown, Bobby Blandford of Louisville and Mike and Kirby Blandford, both of Lebanon; two sisters, Sr. Eula Blandford, S.C.N., of Louisville and Polly Schwartzmiller of Jasper, Ind.; a brother, Lawrence Blandford of Lebanon; 32 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Sept. 24 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. James W. Graf officiated.
Pallbearers were Keith, Eric and Justin Blandford, Chris Miles, Dane Sympson, Darrell Wiley, Shawn Gordon and Paul Nugent.

Josie Elizabeth Napier, 83
Josie Elizabeth Abell Napier, 83, Morristown, Ind., died Sept. 3, 2003.
Born Feb. 23, 1920, in Lebanon, Napier was the daughter of Bruce and Rhoda (Nolley) Abell. She married
Franklin Napier on March 13, 1937, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Ben (wife Wanda) Napier of Redding, Calif., and Randy (wife Sue) Napier of Shelbyville, Ind.; two daughters, Joyce (husband Bill) Branson of Nashville, Ind., and Aileene Mullen (husband Blaine) Flick of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Jeff (wife Emily) Napier of Crescent City, Calif., Robert Michael Napier of Auckland, New Zealand, Tonya (husband Gregg) Shaw of Brownsburg, Ind., Nick (wife Felicia) Branson of Andrea Napier, both of Indianapolis, Sean Branson of North Hollywood, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren, Madeline Rose Napier and Andrew Napier, both of Crescent City, Emerson Shaw and Elliot Shaw, both of Brownsburg, Addison Nicole Branson of Indianapolis and Gretchen Shaw and Whitney Shaw, both of Florida.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, including the late Kelly Abell of Lebanon.
Mrs. Napier was employed at Western Electric Co. in Indianapolis for 23 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Morristown Christian Church where she was active in several church groups, Order of Eastern Star in Greenfield, Rebekkah Lodge, Merry Mixers Homemakers Club and Pioneer Club of Western Electric.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 5 at Fraizer Funeral Home, 124 E. North Street, and from 10:30-11:30 Sept. 6 at Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington Street, all in Morristown. OES services were held Sept. 5 at the funeral home during visitation hours.
Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at the church with the Rev. Lou Stoops and Bill Farmer officiating.
Interment was in the Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
Zella Omer Best Divine, 94
Zella Omer Best Divine, 94, Perryville, died Sept. 24, 2003, at her residence.
Born Aug. 4, 1909, in Breckinridge County, Divine was a retired teacher with the Boyle and Mercer County School systems. She was a member of The Antioch United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ted Divine; and parents, Rev. William T. and Virgie Sparrow Best.
Survivors include: a son, Teddy Lynn Divine of Harrodsburg; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sept. 29 at Wilder Funeral Home, Perryville, with burial in Carpenter's Cemetery in Mercer County. Rev. Brian Ebell officiated.
Pallbearers were Jerry Brummett, Charles Holderman, Jackie Key, Rollie Von Linger, Alan Edwards and Bill Tolliver.

Jane Elizabeth Clark McCluskey, 91, Louisville, died Sept. 29, 2003, at Eastern Star Home, Louisville.
Born May 22, 1912, on Mays Chapel Road in Marion County, McCluskey was past secretary of the Marion County Board of Education and a member of West Broadway Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, William A. and Susie Evans Clark; husband, Walter McCluskey; a sister, Edith Clark Glazebrook; and two brothers, Roger and Buster Clark.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at Highland Funeral Home, Louisville, with burial in Cavehill Cemetery.
