Dorothy May Bean Marshall
CHICAGO RIDGE, Ill. -- Dorothy May Bean Marshall, 90, Chicago Ridge, formerly of Nebo, Ky., died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000 at Lexington Health Care Center in Chicago Ridge.
She was retired from Western Electric Co. in Chicago after 32 years of service. She was also employed by the United States Postal Service for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Ray Marshall, who died in 1976; and two sons, William D. Bean and Robert Eugene Bean.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Lee McVay of Providence, Mary Crabtree of Nebo, Donna Ghiotto of Olympia Fields, Ill., and Carole Jean Allen of Chicago Ridge; one son, Donald R. Marshall of Chicago; four sisters, Wanda Ecker of Buckley, Ill., Shirley Thiebold of Fort Proof, Fla., Barbara Lemmons of Wichita, Kan., and Mary Ellen Zuckerman of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Johnny Bean of Fort Scott, Kan., and Jimmy Joe Bean of Seattle, Wash.; 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters-Hanson Chapel in Slaughters. The Rev. John Shirley will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Oakley Home Cemetery near Manitou, Ky.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
John Franklin Kemper
John Franklin Kemper, 78, Henderson, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at his home.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Evansville.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Betty "Peaches" Lee; two daughters, Nancy Straub of Nebraska and Sharon Kemper of Georgia; one son, John F. Kemper Jr. of Realto, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great-granchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
There will be no visitation.

Claire K. Miller
Claire K. Miller, 83, Henderson, died at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was retired from First National Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Eugene Miller, who died in 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Carlene Williams of Henderson and Caron Ludan of Mooresville, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret Shidler of Evansville and Sally Ahlering of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Charles King of Evansville and Jim King of Maine; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. today.
Bernard J. "Shorty" Stofleth
SEBREE -- Bernard J. "Shorty" Stofleth, 78, formerly of Henderson, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at his home here.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and worked as an electrician for many years.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy Walker Stofleth, who died Dec. 11, 1997; and one son, Francis D. "Hank" Stofleth, who died in May, 1989.
Survivors include his caregiver, Margie Bryant of Sebree; two daughters, Carol Stofleth Pugh Bullock and Paulette Stofleth Bruce Shrode, both of Evansville; stepchildren; three brothers, Francis X. Stofleth, Paul Stofleth and Sylvester Stofleth, all of Evansville; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at White Oak Cemetery in Providence. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Lillian Jennings Lambdin
SEBREE -- Lillian Jennings Lambdin, 94, Sebree, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000 at the Masonic Home in Louisville.
She was a retired housewife and dietary employee of the old Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville. She also worked in the Sebree School lunch room and for Tompkins Funeral Home as a lady attendant. She was a member of the Sebree Eastern Star for 53 years and the Sebree First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Sebree Homemakers Club and took an active part in community Bible schools.
She was preceded in death one son, Happy Lambdin, who died in 1999; and one daughter, Margrett Lambdin, who died in 1934.
Survivors include three sons, Hart Jr. Lambdin and Edward Lambdin, both of Sebree, and Bill Powell of Beech Grove, Ky.; one sister, Lura Holden of Madisonville; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree-Poole Chapel in Sebree. The Rev. Bob Hardison will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Leona Ann Brown
UNIONTOWN -- Leona Ann Brown, 58, Uniontown died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson of complications from multiple sclerosis.
She was a school teacher and administrator for 29 years in Union County and served on the Union County Library Board and Literacy Council. She was also an active member of Morganfield First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Brown; three stepchildren; her mother, Margaret Curtis of Uniontown; one sister, Jean Kendell of Frankfort; three brothers, David Curtis of Morganfield, Fred Curtis of Mooresville, N.C., and Ed Curtis of Wilkesboro, N.C.; and three step grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morganfield First Baptist Church. The Revs. Mark Galloway and Steve Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
