Arthur J. Karges
PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Arthur J. Karges, 83, Port Orange, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
He was a professional locksmith and retired auto parts manager for a Chevrolet dealership. He was also a member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church, Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9 in Henderson and the Association of Locksmiths of America.
Survivors include his wife, Louise P. Karges; one son, Dr. Michael A. Karges of Daytona Beach; one sister, Marion Klauder of Henderson; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Port Orange Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Richard Hills officiated.
Shannon Funeral Home in Port Orange was in charge of arrangements.

William Henry Tucker
William Henry Tucker, 77, Henderson, died at 2:17 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bloomington, Ind.
Survivors include his companion, Carol Sutton; one daughter, Nancy Mae Tucker Deaven of Los Angeles; three sons, John H. Tucker of Corydon, William L. Tucker and Ronald Tucker, both of Los Angeles; one stepsister, Dorothy Johnson of Evansville; one stepbrother, Donald Tucker of Sacramento, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
Pearl Maxine Griffin
Pearl Maxine Griffin, 78, Henderson, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Highland Pointe Health Care Center of Evansville.
She was a member of Disabled American Veterans and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Gene Griffin, who died in 1979, and a daughter, Sue Lynn Meyers, who died in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Cassie Schaefer of St. Philip, Ind., and Neva Scheffkneht of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, Cliff Griffin of Kingsport, Tenn., and John Griffin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military rites performed by the American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bennie Willis Carver
STURGIS -- Bennie Willis Carver, 87, Sturgis, died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital in Boonville, Ind.
He was a coal miner for 17 years and retired from the Knox County Parks and Recreation after 16 years of park patrol.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Edith Pearl Benson Carver; six daughters, Patricia Carver and Donna Marsh, both of Sturgis, Ann Marsh of Sandborn, Ind., Mayme Lane of Suffolk, Va., and Mary Frances Ramsey and Darlene Jo, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sons, Bernie Carver and David Carver, both of Sturgis, and Steve Carver of Mitchell, Ind.; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sturgis Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. Stacy Pearcy will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church.

Mary Lee Sells
Mary Lee Sells, 84, Henderson, died at 2:16 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Redbanks nursing home.
She was a member of both Zion Baptist Church and Zion Homemakers for more than 50 years. She was also retired from CBS Dress Factory.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John W. "Red" Sells, who died April 9, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Adams of Owensboro; one son, David E. Sells of Evansville; two sisters, Annie Brown of Spottsville and Martha Higgs of Henderson; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Eddie Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jeff C. Taylor
Jeff C. Taylor, 37, Henderson, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, in Dixon, from injuries sustained in a hunting accident.
He worked for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, was an avid hunter, and formerly sang with the Henderson Community Chorus.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Donna Nobles Taylor; one daughter, Sydney Lane Taylor of Henderson; one son, Mason Kyle Taylor of Henderson; his parents, Terry and Carolyn Bumpus of Morganfield, and Larry G. Taylor of Dixon; one brother, Kevin G. Taylor of Henderson; and three nieces.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. John Conn will officiate.

Jeff D. Courtney Sr., 26, Henderson, died at 8:36 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from injuries sustained in a work-related accident.
He was employed at Gamco Products as a lead operator.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Courtney; one son, Jeffrey D. Courtney, Jr., at home; his parents, Karen Courtney of Henderson and John David Moseley of Henderson; his stepfather, Donald Courtney of Corydon; two sisters, Tammy Martin and Christy Moseley, both of Henderson; three brothers, Greg Courtney and John Moseley Jr., both of Henderson, and Roger Courtney of Uniontown; his grandparents, Barbara Schoenheit of Poole, Hubert and Pat Stone of Dixon, and Teresa Courtney of Henderson; great-grandparents, Annie Lou Stone and June Brown, both of Dixon; nieces and nephews.
