Walter Elliott
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Walter Elliott, 79, of Elliott Lane will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Gary Story. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Monday at his home.
Born July 22, 1920, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth Russell Elliott. He was a retired custodian of the Mercer County Courthouse, a farmer, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Bottom Elliott; a daughter, Joann E. Watts of Mercer County; two brothers, Albert Elliott of Mercer County and Roy L. Elliott of Alabama; three sisters, Gertie M. Huffman of Cornishville, Catherine Pankey of Mercer County and Betsy Goodlett of Alton; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James P. Elliott.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cox, Bobby Beasley, Aaron Gray, Junior and Michael Huffman, David Peavler, Bill Elliott Sr. and David Patrick.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Graveside services for Lowell Hunter Price, 65, of Cincinnati will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Crab Orchard Cemetery.
He died Friday at his home of natural causes.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Price of Nicholasville; a daughter, Sandra Ernst of Kings Mountain; a sister, Ida Lee Farmer of Crab Orchard; a brother, Wayne Price of Crab Orchard; and several grandchildren.

LIBERTY -- Jamey Ann Allen, 23, of Liberty died Sunday at her home of gunshot wounds.
Born Feb. 20, 1977, in Danville, she was a daughter of James A. "Hook" Hayes of Hustonville and Judy Rousey Hayes of Liberty. She was a homemaker and a member of Hustonville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Dewayne Allen; two sons, Devin Norman and Zachary Allen, both of Liberty; a brother, James L. Hayes of Hustonville; maternal grandmother, Daisy Rousey of Liberty; paternal grandmother; and Cordie Hayes of Liberty.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Onva Hayes. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

STANFORD -- Kenny Ray DeWit, 34, of Scharbrough Road died Monday following an accident while working at home.
Born April 15, 1966, in Frankfort, Ind., he was a son of Kenneth E. and Margaret L. Ray DeWit. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Dewit of Louisville; a daughter, Adrianna R. DeWit of Louisville; three brothers, Jonathan and John Dewit, both of Stanford, and Clarence W. DeWit of Danville; a sister, Janet E. Brookfield of Stanford.

Born Sept. 30, 1914, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late J.S. and Sarah Blane Reed Shirley. She was the widow of Hollie C. Demaree. She owned and operated Milady Beauty Shop for 50 years and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and sang with the choir.
Survivors include a son, Glendon Demaree of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Reva Foster and Neva Lay, both of Harrodsburg, and Wilma Graham of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Pollie Stratton, Charles Anness, Chester Scott, Carroll Gritton, Brennan Royalty and Dr. Charles Hatcher. Honorary pallbearers are members of her Sunday School class.
