Juanita J. "Shug" Lacefield
Juanita J. "Shug" Lacefield, 76, Henderson, died at 12:04 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was an active member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church of Evansville, where she served on the Mothers Board and was a member of the Gospel Choir and Mission Circle. She volunteered throughout the community, particularly at Pleasant Pointe and Medco Center of Henderson. She was also an assistant teacher with the WINN Adult Education Program and an Atlanta Life Insurance agent.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, the Rev. Oscar Lacefield Jr., who died in January 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Brewer of Henderson and Deborah Vanoy of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, James Henry of Oxnard, Calif., Timothy Lacefield of Waldorf, Md., and Paul Lacefield of Kansas City, Kan.; a half-sister, Jimmie Thompson of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, Wiley Williams Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ralph Williams of Sulpher Springs, Texas; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Rascoe will officiate. Burial will be on Friday in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
George R. Moore
George R. Moore, 69, Henderson, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry Kratz of Evansville; three sisters, Gloria Hutchinson, Vonda Alexander and Lib Alexander, all of Henderson; and two grandsons.
Private services will be held.
Benton-Glunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Liston Ray Price
Liston Ray Price, 82, Reed, died at 5:04 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of the Reed Community Church and was retired from Period Inc.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marjorie; three daughters, Mary Jane Wilson of Henderson, Martha Jeanette Roedel of Reed, and Judy Draper of Evansville; a son, Anthony Ray "Tony" Price of Reed; one sister, Wilma Clark of Reed; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are pending at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mary "Gippie" Berry
MADISONVILLE -- Mary "Gippie" Berry, 78, died at 7:36 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at her home here.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Morris Berry, who died Dec. 1, 1988; and one daughter, Linda Lou Crenshaw, who died in 1978.
Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Watkins of Henderson; one brother, Alfred Grace of Madisonville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Pauline D. Hollowell
CASTALIA, Ohio -- Pauline D. Hollowell, 77, Castalia, formerly of Henderson, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Firelands Community Hospital in Sandusky, Ohio.
A graduate of Henderson County High School, she was retired from Stephens Printing and the American Crayon Company, both in Sandusky. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Sandusky and the American Legion Post No. 83, where she was a volunteer for Legion bingo. She enjoyed playing bingo and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin "Bud" Hollowell, who died in 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Hollowell of Castalia, and JoNelle "Bill" Grandi of Sandusky; one son, Robert T. Hollowell of Springville, Ala.; one sister, Joyce Chandler of Henderson; one brother, Bobby Danheiser of Evansville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ransom Funeral Home in Castalia. The Rev. Bill Grandi will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Huron, Ohio.

Milburn Thompson, 75, Corydon, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 181.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Farley of Corydon; one brother, Charles Thompson of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Necie Dimples Taylor
CLAY -- Necie Dimples Taylor, 97, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at her home here.
She attended Grace Baptist Church in Clay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis Taylor Sr., who died in 1942.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha Baker and Bobbie J. Bumpus, both of Clay, and Lita Ossenberg of Newburgh; one son, Elvis Taylor Jr. of Dixon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. The Rev. Larry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.
