Louise Jones Adams
Louise Jones Adams, 87, Henderson, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Adams, who died in 1988; and one son, Charles Michael Adams, who died in 1992.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Smith of Henderson; one son, Gary Ronald Adams of Henderson; one sister, Elizabeth Krist of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Harwood will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Herman L. Chapman
Herman L. Chapman, 82, Henderson, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at his daughter's home in Evansville.
He was a member of Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer at Audubon State Park and on the auxiliary at Methodist Hospital. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, sports and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Chapman.
Survivors include one daughter, Candace Chapman of Evansville; four sons, Herman Chapman, Joe Chapman, Judd Chapman, and Jim Chapman, all of Henderson; one sister, Margie Jackson of Henderson; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Paul E. "Snookie" Beasley
Paul E. "Snookie" Beasley, 56, Reed, died at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include his companion, Carrol Adams of Newman, Ky.; one son, Paul Wayne Beasley of Henderson County; his mother and stepfather, Donnie and Truman Swearer of Reed; one sister, Gilda Lou Justice of Reed; one brother, Clarence Swearer of Reed; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Revs. Ralph Chaney and Tony Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Reed.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Margaret M. Burks
STURGIS -- Margaret M. Burks, 73, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Union County.
She was a member of Mount Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, where she was an elder, trustee, and past president of the choir. She held various positions in the Ohio Valley Missionary Society, was a past Worthy Matron of the Zella Chapter No. 43 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Ohio Valley Elders and Deacons Council, and a past church treasurer.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Edgie Burks Sr.; five daughters, Doris Mack of Uniontown, Sharon Combs and Clara Caldwell, both of Sturgis, Zelinda Fellows of Morganfield, and Vanessa Chambers of Owensboro; three sons, James Davis of Van Nuys, Calif., Charles Davis of Racine, Calif., and Edgie Burks Jr. of Sturgis; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. William Greenwell will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the church, where wake services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

LISMAN, Ky. -- Chester Owen, 93, Lisman, died at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
He was a farmer and a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Owen, who died May 13, 2000.
Survivors include one brother, Sherman Owen of Dixon; his caretaker and niece, Patsy S. Hill of Dixon; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Revs. Harold Cayce and Kerry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Slover Cemetery in Dixon.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James A. Gardner, 74, Henderson, died at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a retired farmer in the Henderson area.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, including his caregiver, Peggy Coker of Smith Mills.
Private graveside services will be held Thursday at Smith Mills Cemetery. The Rev. Donald House will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Nora McCalvin Staton Guthrie
Nora McCalvin Staton Guthrie, 75, Henderson, died at 7:32 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
She attended First United Methodist Church in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John A. Guthrie Sr., who died in 1981.
Survivors include one son, John A. Guthrie Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Gladys Greenfield of Henderson; one brother, Jesse McCalvin of Crescent City, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Rebecca Curry will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery in Guthrie, Ky.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
