David Thomas "Dave" Schutz
NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. -- David Thomas "Dave" Schutz, 97, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at his home here.
He had owned and operated Dave's Recap in Henderson for many years. He was a former member of the Henderson Moose Lodge and had worked at Heldt-Manroe Hardware in Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Bonnie Windels Schutz, who died in September 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Priem of Henderson and Sherry Barbarisi of Neptune Beach; one son, Terry Schutz of New Harmony, Ind.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Northside Congregational Church in Evansville. The Rev. Jeffrey O. Stratton will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

OWENSBORO -- Mary A. Ashby, 94, formerly of Henderson, died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at her home here.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was also an avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ashby, who died in 1939; one daughter, Dorothy O'Daniel who died in 1999; and two sons, Richard Ashby and Henry Ashby Jr., who both died in 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Duncan of Poole; four sons, John Ashby of Mesa, Ariz., Bernard Ashby of Henderson, Phillip Ashby of Geneva, and Robert Ashby of Owensboro; two sisters, Anna Woods of Sapulpa, Okla., and Sister Bernadine Tegethoff of Bardstown, Ky.; 34 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Sunday.

CALVERT CITY, Ky. -- Rosa "Miss Rosie" Buchanan, 93, Calvert City, formerly of Union County, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center here.
She was a member of Watson Lane Baptist Church in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Buchanan, who died in 1981; and two sons, Raymond Buchanan, who died in 1999, and Paul Buchanan, who died in 1935.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Lynn of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; three sons, J.L. Buchanan of Morganfield, Gene Buchanan of Calvert City, and Coleman Buchanan of Marion, Ky.; one sister, Cecil Carlisle of Milford, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She owned Paducah Typewriter & Supply for 20 years and also worked at the Wind-in-the-Willows in Naples for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. McClure; and one son, Thomas McClure.
Survivors include her companion, Larry Dyer of Naples; one sister, Mary Helen Shepherd of Naples; one brother, Joseph Leo Willett of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples.
