Leigh Ledford

Leigh Ledford, 58, Henderson, formerly of Paris, Ky., died at 9:04 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.

She taught honors and AP history at Henderson City High School and Henderson County High School for more than 30 years.

Survivors include one brother, Norman Ledford of Paris; a niece and a nephew.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Paris.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to a favorite charity.

Dorothy Bickett

MORGANFIELD -- Dorothy Bickett, 71, Morganfield, died of heart failure at 2:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Herman Bickett; six daughters, Robin Owen of Corydon, Teresa Hornbeak of Morganfield, Linda Willett of Waverly, Bonnie McNeely of Paducah, Connie Heuser of Monroe Township, N.J., and Patty Lewis of Karlstein, Germany; one son, the Rev. Tony Bickett of Owensboro; two sisters, Geraldine Sheffer of Morganfield and Mary Ann Siragusa of Western Springs, Ill.; three brothers, Donald French, Ray French and Bobby C. French, all of Morganfield; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Tony Bickett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Morganfield.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Ann Catholic Church Building Fund.

Marjorie Travis Higgs

PROVIDENCE -- Marjorie Travis Higgs, 79, Providence, formerly of Madisonville, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville and a retired, longtime employee of Robards Drug Store and Williams Cleaners in Madisonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Higgs.

Survivors include four sisters, Ann Wargel of Crossville, Ill., Ruby Lucchesi of Carmel, Ill., Joyce Belt of Gilbertsville, Ky., and Janet Golden of Burlington, Ky.; two brothers, Donald Travis of Gilbertsville and Dennis Travis of Providence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Barry Cullen will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Madisonville.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Patricia Gordon

Patricia Gordon, 13, Henderson, formerly of Shawneetown, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Slaton of Henderson; her father, Roy Gordon of Shawneetown; a sister, Ashley Gordon of Henderson; a brother, Nathan Gordon of Shawneetown; and one half-brother, Larry Slaton Jr. of Shawneetown.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. The Rev. Bob Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Samuel D. Fambrough

Samuel D. Fambrough, 59, Henderson, died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at the V.A. Medical Center in Louisville.

He was of the Catholic faith and had served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include three brothers, Robert V. Fambrough and William H. Fambrough, both of Henderson and Paul E. Fambrough of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Ruby Miller of Morganfield, Mary Fambrough of Miami, Fla., and Betty Robertson of Cane Hill, Ala.

Services will be at 6:30 p.m. today at R.G. May and Sons Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will be in Lebanon National Cemetery in Marion County, Ky.

Zula Mae Jones

Zula Mae Jones, 66, Cairo, died at 9:48 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at her home.

Survivors include her husband Darriel Jones; three sons, Jonathan Jones, Chris Jones and Joseph Jones, all of Cairo; two sisters, Lula Dell Phillips of Elkton, Ky., and Bonnie Hester of Hopkinsville; one brother, John E. Welch of Madison, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Shady Grove General Baptist Church in Poole. The Rev. Mike Herron will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or hospice.

Kriekhaus-Sansom Funeral Home in Evansville is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Demoss Parker

SEBREE -- Shirley Demoss Parker, 64, Sebree, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, from a long-term illness at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home here.

A homemaker, she was a member of Sebree First United Methodist Church. She also worked as a custodian for Sebree First Baptist Church for 13 years, and she retired from C.B.S. Dress Factory in Henderson, where she worked for 18 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Bell of Sebree; two sons, Steve Parker of Madisonville and Bobby Parker of Dixon; two sisters, Mary Chandler of Robards and Edna Ray Isaac of Mount Carmel, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree-Poole Chapel in Sebree.

The Revs. Bob Hardison and David Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Emberry Cemetery in Vandetta, Ky.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Sebree First United Methodist Church or the Sebree First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Flossie Clark Rust

DIXON -- Flossie Clark Rust, 82, Dixon, died at 1:17 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was a retired beautician who had worked in a beauty salon in Providence. She also had worked at a laundrymat in Dixon.

Survivors include her caretakers, Randy and Tanna Leslie of Dixon; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixon.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
