STANFORD --Services for Amos Taylor, 76, of Boneyard Hollow Road will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Bland. Burial will be in Camp Nelson Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion
He died Saturday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Moreland, he was a son of Judge and Mary Nancy Naylor Taylor. His father's name was incorrect in Sunday's paper.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Henry L. Shuck
PERRYVILLE -- Henry Lapsley Shuck, 64, of Fitzgerald Road, Junction City, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 22, 1936, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late John and Edna Huffman Shuck. He was a security guard at Timberland and served in the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lancaster Shuck; one daughter, Teresa Shuck of Junction City; one son, Keith Shuck of Stanford; one sister, Agnes Stockdale of Kokomo, Ind.; and seven brothers, Thomas Shuck of Danville, Jimmy Shuck of Nicholasville, Bobby Shuck and Eddie Shuck, both of Michigan, and Bill, Razz and Frankie Shuck, all of Versailles.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday on the Shuck farm.
There is no visitation.

Hershel W. Adams Sr.
CRAB ORCHARD -- Hershel W. Adams Sr., 36, of Simpson Road, Brodhead, died Friday at his home after complications from a heart attack.
Born Jan. 2, 1964, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Opal Bishop Adams of Crab Orchard and the late Willard Adams. He was a farmer and companion of Darlene Prowe of Waynesburg.
Survivors include a son, Hershel W. Adams Jr.; one stepdaughter, Savannah Jones of Morehead; two brothers, Eugene Adams of Eubank and Randy Adams of Crab Orchard; and seven sisters, Vivian Denny of Crab Orchard, Wanda Toney of Eubank, Carolyn Townsend of Fairfield, Ohio, Juanita Rousey and Dorothy Saylor, both of Bryantsville, and Judy Petrey and Geraldine White, both of Georgetown.
Services will be noon Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Chestnut Ridge, Waynesburg.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Adams, Stan Petrey, John White, and Ronnie, Wayne and Bryan Saylor.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

Fannie Z. Bottom
HARRODSBURG -- Fannie Zerilda Bottom, 100, of Buster Pike died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1899, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late William and Naomi Frances Watts Horn. She was the widow of Vernice Graves Bottom, a homemaker and a member of Bruners Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Christine Montgomery of Harrodsburg and Connie Horn and Billy Horn, both of Mercer County.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Redding. Burial will be in Bruners Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Moeller, Tommy Nichols, and Eddie, Randy, Tim, Keith, Connie and Billy Horn.

Betty L. Kilby
STANFORD -- Betty L. Kilby, 49, of East Main Street died Friday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born May 28, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Anna Mullins Woodall. She was owner and operator of the Cree-Mee Drive-in restaurant and belonged to Calvary Hill Baptist Church. She was the companion of Dallas Peel of Lancaster.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Kilby Jr. of Somerset, Dewey R. Kilby of Crab Orchard and Jason L. Kilby of Waynesburg; two brothers, Gene and Robert Woodall, both of Stanford; three sisters, Virginia Johnson of Stanford, Helen Frazier of Concord, N.C., and Judy Ingles of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Morris Trayner.

CINCINNATI, OHIO -- Marcella M. Norris, 85, of Cincinnati died Tuesday in Cincinnati.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy G. Chambers of Ontario, Calif., and Nellie E. Shelton of Harrodsburg; a son, Don B. Norris of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Walnut Hills, Park and Lincoln avenues, by the Rev. Eric Cason. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. Monday until the time of services at the church.

Gloria W. Ragland
LEXINGTON -- Gloria Webster Ragland, 69, of Lancaster died Friday.
A native of Clark County, she was a daughter of the late Howard Bush and Lucille Stewart Webster. A Kentucky wildlife artist, she was a member of the Bluegrass Artist League and various other art leagues. She belonged to the Kentucky Native American Council and the Seven Fires Council. She was a retired employee of Central Baptist Hospital and also had worked at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Leia R. Lewis of Harrodsburg and Linda Sue Ragland of Lancaster; two sons, Howard N. Ragland of Lancaster and Joel Richard Ragland of Lexington; one sister, Mary W. Palmer of Somerset; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Winchester Cemetery by the Revs. Delbert Hammons and Stewart Dawson.
Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 today at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Bland. Burial will be in Camp Nelson Cemetery, Jessamine County, with Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion, presenting Honor Guard services at 11 a.m.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Monday.

MORELAND -- James Floyd Pemberton, 81, of Stanford died Saturday at Stanford House nursing home.
Born June 6, 1919, he was the son of the late Tom and Betty Coffman Pemberton. He was the widower of Helen Marie Burchett Pemberton and was a retired farmer.
Survivors include five sons, William, Donnie and David Pemberton, all of Stanford, Jackie Pemberton and Ronnie Pemberton, both of Liberty; three daughters, Elsie Cunningham of Hustonville, Helen Pemberton of Dallas, Texas, and Janie Pemberton of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Gravesides services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hustonville Cemetery.

Cedric L. Thomas
STANFORD -- Cedric Lee Thomas, 86, formerly of Cross Hill Drive died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital extended care unit.
Born July 31, 1912, in Union County, he was a son of the late Frank and Lynna Travis Thomas. He was a retired gas equipment operator for Chevron & Standard Oil Co., a member of Stanford Baptist Church, and the widower of Vivian Miracle Thomas.
Survivors include a son, Donald L. Thomas of Lexington; and a daughter, Cheryl Hutchinson of Round Rock, Texas.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Beck. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.

Genevieve E. McCandless
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Genevieve Elliott McCandless, 81, of South East Street will be 2 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Friday at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born May 13, 1919, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Price and Mary Catherine Wren Elliott. She had worked as a clerk/operator for Gem Drug Store and Lay-Lawson Store. She belonged to Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Widow to Widow Club and Modern Woodsmen of America.
Survivors include two sons, Dan McCandless of Lancing, Mich., and Ben McCandless of Mississippi; two brothers, Lt. Col. Edwin Elliott and Virgil Elliott Sr., both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Eunice Tyler of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Elliott Tyler, and Don, Ott, Ralph, Timmy and Virgil P. Elliott Jr.
An Order of the Eastern Star service was held Saturday.
