MORGANFIELD -- Helen Capps, 90, Morganfield, died at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Union County.
She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Union County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Capps, who died in 1978; and one son, Jimmy Ray Capps, who died in 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Baker of Morganfield; one son, Billy John Capps of Dixon; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. The Rev. Phil Rowland will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.

Dorothy Dean Johnson Latta
SMITH MILLS -- Dorothy Dean Johnson Latta, 73, Smith Mills, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a member of Morganfield First Baptist Church and the Smith Mills Lioness Club. She was also past president of Morganfield Business and Professional Women, a bookkeeper for Southern States and a secretary for the Henderson County Conservation District.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emery Nelson Johnson, who died July 13, 1968, and by her second husband, Robert Lee Latta, who died July 23, 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Royster of Dixon and Elizabeth Ellis of Cairo; one son, James Johnson of Henderson; one sister, Carolyn Davis of Wetumpka, Ala.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Galloway will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Morganfield First Baptist Church, St. Anthony's Hospice or the Henderson County Special Olympics.
Pallbearers will be James Johnson, Steve Johnson, Brian Mitchell, Ben Royster, Jonathan Royster and Brian Ellis.
Jerri Gayle Price Tackett
STURGIS -- Jerri Gayle Price Tackett, 34, Sturgis, died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2001, in Morganfield.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristan Bartolotto of Sturgis; two sons, David Ray Brightman and Tristan Blake Bartolotto, both of Sturgis; her mother, Betty Price of Sturgis; a sister, Lorrie Price of Sturgis; one brother, Scott Price of Sturgis; and grandparents, Freida Price of Harrisburg, Ill., and Mary Lois Smith of Sturgis.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Farthing will officiate.

Karen F. Cosby
Karen F. Cosby, 36, Henderson, died of a brain aneuryism at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a graduate of Henderson County High School and was formerly employed at Service Tool & Die in Henderson. She was a member of New Race Creek Baptist Church in Henderson.
Survivors include two daughters, Kerra Cosby and Brittany Cosby, both of Henderson; one son, Victor Cosby of Henderson; one sister, Thera Harris of Henderson; her mother, Dolly Shelton Cosby of Henderson; and four brothers, Anthony Cosby, Kevin Cosby, Theron Cosby, and Rodney Cosby, all of Henderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Race Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Chester Hatchett will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.

Amanda Brooks Dixon McKinney
Amanda Brooks Dixon McKinney, 75, Henderson, died at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Community Methodist Hospital after 14 years of service. She was also a domestic worker for many years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Dixon Jr.; and her second husband, Thomas "Jack" McKinney.
Survivors include one daughter, Cassandra Dixon Happoldt of Henderson; one son, Anthony Dixon of Henderson; two sisters, Anna Brank and Pauline Brooks, both of Henderson; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. The Rev. Robert Esters will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.

Martha Jean Satterfield, 73, Henderson, died at 4 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Satterfield, who died in 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Copeland of Sebree; one son, William "Bud" Satterfield of Henderson; one sister, Ruth Toombs of Florida; one brother, James Tillotson of Henderson; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Cecil "Poogie" Leon Wood
MADISONVILLE -- Cecil "Poogie" Leon Wood, 75, died at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at his home here.
He worked for Speed Queen. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 148 and Providence General Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Wood, who died December, 26, 1997.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Cecil R. Wood of Madisonville; two sisters, Inez Brown of Providence and Mary Sue Hill of Farmersville, Ky.; one brother, Virgil Wood of Clay; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Barry Cullen will officiate. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Webster County.
