Ed Chaney, 59, Henderson, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
He was a Protestant and a tool-and-die engineer.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Wedding of Henderson; one son, Edward Dean Chaney of Henderson; his mother, Agatha Chaney of Henderson; two sisters, Ann Branson and Stella Marie Knight, both of Henderson; one brother, David Allen Chaney of Beals; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Chaney will officiate.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

James A. "Peanuts" Hagan
UNIONTOWN -- James A. "Peanuts" Hagan, 76, Uniontown, died from emphysema at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served on Iwo Jima.
Survivors include his wife, Pearly Hagan; two daughters, Suzanne Morris of Uniontown, and Mary Jane Fulkerson of Henderson; one son, Bill Hagan of Lexington; one sister, Gertrude Girten of Grandview, Mo.; one brother, Julian Nally of Mundelein, Ill.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services are pending at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.
Kristopher Ryan Kirtley
Kristopher Ryan Kirtley, 14, Henderson, died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
He attended North Junior High School, where he was active with the Friends Group. He was also an avid outdoorsman. His courage in battling his disease was the subject of a Page A1 column by Judy Jenkins in The Gleaner on Jan. 28.
Survivors include his mother, Angela Simpson of Henderson; his father and stepmother, Quince and Marie Kirtley of Henderson; two sisters, Katie Kirtley and Brandi Kirtley, both of Henderson; his grandparents, Paul Simpson and Margaret and Larry Blanford, all of Henderson, and Charles and Rena Dixon of Centertown, Ky.; his great-grandmother, Grace Madden of Henderson; one stepbrother, Steven Vanover of Henderson.
Arrangements are pending at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Euil Robinson
Euil Robinson, 82, Henderson, died at 4:26 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a self-employed farmer and an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margueriette Robinson, who died Dec. 2, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, William C. Robinson and Morris Robinson, both of Henderson; one sister, Becky Winegar of Evansville; one brother, Harvey Robinson of Morganfield; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. David Bratcher will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Annie Hope Wooton Hobgood
MORGANFIELD -- Annie Hope Wooton Hobgood, 91, Morganfield, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn Hobgood, who died May, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Ann Hobgood Pollock of Middletown, Ky.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. The Rev. Bob Dunlop will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Velma L. Austrew
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- Velma L. Austrew, 82, formerly of Webster County and Louisville, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at her home here.
She was a home health care nurse. She was a member of Christ Community Church in New Smyrna Beach.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Lee Austrew and Delbert L. Austrew, both of New Smyrna Beach; three daughters, Edith Gamache of New Smyrna Beach, Diane Michaux of Port Orange, Fla., and Judy E. Sipes of Lake Junaluska, N.C.; three sisters, Louella Gregor of New Smyrna Beach, Jean Hunter of Winston Salem, N.C., and Dorothy Williamson of San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Carlon Yates of Henderson; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Baldwin Memorial Chapel in New Smyrna Beach. The Rev. Larry Husebo will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.
There will be no visitation.

Michael Warren Bassett
LACEY, Wash. - Michael Warren Bassett, 25, Lacey, formerly of Henderson, died at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in Wendall, Idaho.
He was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his father, Robert "Bob" Bassett of Lacey; his stepmother, Dianne Bassett of Lacey; his grandparents, Charles and Era Watson of Henderson; one half-sister, Rachel Bassett of Lacey; and four half-brothers, Nathan Bassett, Joshua Bassett, Benjamin Bassett, and Robert Bassett, all of Lacey.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Corydon Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hite will officiate.

James Fisher "Fish" Kirby
James Fisher "Fish" Kirby, 76, Henderson, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a deacon of Airline Baptist Church and a member of Laborer's International Union of North America, Local No. 561. He worked at Moll Tool and Plastics for 24 years and was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marie Kirby; two daughters, Betty C. Elliott of Cairo, and Aldena Collins of Henderson; one sister, Shirley Sullivan of Dyer, Ind.; three brothers, Edward Kirby of East Tawas, Mich., Frank Kirby of Taylor, Mich., and Don Kirby of Wyandotte, Mich.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Airline Baptist Church. The Rev. Ray Werline and Coleman West will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
