HOPKINSVILLE -- Ruby P. Deason, 84, Hopkinsville, died at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center here.
A Trigg County native, she was also a homemaker and a babysitter.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Deason, who died in 1998.
Survivors include three sisters, Nellie Vandiver of Henderson and Mary Casillas and Helen Coonces, both of Grafton, Ill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. The Rev. Terry Peck will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
John Patrick McIllwain
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- John Patrick McIllwain, 32, Johnson City, formerly of Henderson, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at his great-grandparents' home in Sugar Tree, Tenn.
He was a member of Church of Christ in Henderson. He was a 1987 graduate of Henderson County High School and attended the University of Kentucky.
He owned and operated Kustom Colors in Johnson City.
Survivors include three daughters, Megan McIllwain, Ashlea McIllwain and Bethany McIllwain, all of Lexington; his parents, Jim and Louise McIllwain of Henderson; one sister, Donna Nally of Henderson; one brother, Kerry McIllwain of Moses Lake, Wash.; one niece and one nephew.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Gary Puryear will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Flat Woods Cemetery in Camden, Tenn.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Church of Christ in Henderson.
Joseph Glenn Bateman
Joseph Glenn Bateman, 84, Henderson, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He worked for 35 years at Henderson-Union Rural Electric Cooperative, where he served as manager of member services. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Henderson Elks Lodge, where he had served for 10 years as secretary.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret Bateman; three daughters, Saundra Stockton of Evansville, Linda Hargett of Dover, Del., and Peggy Thibodeau of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Joseph L. Bateman of Houma, La.; three sisters, Katie Buttram, Helen Buttram, and Shirley Bryan, all of Evansville; one brother, James Bateman of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. today.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Vincent De Paul Society.

RAYVILLE, Mo. -- Barbara Jean Jenkins, 66, Rayville, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
She was a member of Daughters of The American Revolution and the United Methodist Church in Edina, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Hess, who died in 1999.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Jenkins; one daughter, Alesia Magruder of Kansas City; two sons, Doug Klote of Grain Valley, Mo., and Jeffery Klote of Krugerville, Texas; one sister, Pamela Schuckman of Osage Beach, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at White Oak Cemetery in Webster County, Ky.
There will be no visitation.

MADISONVILLE -- Robert Keith Morgan, 49, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at his home here.
Survivors include two sisters, Ricca Thompson of Clay, and Johnna Jones of Providence.
Private services will be held at a later date. The remains were cremated.
There will be no visitation.
