HOPKINSVILLE -- Paul L. Barron Sr., 85, Hopkinsville, formerly of Henderson, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2001, at Pine Crest Manor in Hopkinsville.
He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Massey Barron.
Survivors include two sons, Paul L. Barron Jr. of Moultrie, Ga., and Jerry Barron of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Jerry Barron and Paul Barron Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Helen E. Johnston
MOUNT VERNON, Ill. -- Helen E. Johnston, 87, Mount Vernon, died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2001, at Odin Care Center in Odin, Ill.
She was a homemaker and member of Logan Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Warner "Bill" Johnston, who died Sept. 29, 1995.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Geary of Henderson; three sons, Gene Johnston, Bill R. Johnston, and Larry Johnston, all of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Betty Ruth Fisher Greene of Mount Vernon, and Madie "Tag" Fisher Davis of Maricopa County, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery. Randy Sells will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

David Overby
David Overby, 49, Henderson, died at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Medco Center of Henderson.
He was of the Episcopalian faith.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Barbara Overby; one stepdaughter, Beth Branson of Henderson; one son, Landon E. Overby of Washington, D.C.; two stepsons, Jason Branson and Robert Branson, both of Henderson; one sister, Gail Rush of Clearwater, Fla.; one grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Schwartz will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Pauline Ramona Shelton
STURGIS -- Pauline Ramona Shelton, 96, Sturgis, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at her daughter's home in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was a member of Phillips Chapel C.M.E. Church, where she served on the Stewardesses Board, Missionary Society, and choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tarvin Shelton; and three sons, Lloyd James Shelton, Segue Shelton, and Douglas Shelton.
Survivors include three daughters, Marian Johnson of Hampton, Va., and Elaine Rencher and Gloria Wilson, both of Fort Wayne; one stepson, LaChester Shelton of Indianapolis; one sister, Geneva Scott of Peoria, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Chapel C.M.E. Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Joseph Grimes will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.

Arlene Fallis Zachary
SLAUGHTERS -- Arlene Fallis Zachary, 60, Slaughters, died of complications from open heart surgery at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a mail carrier with the Slaughters Post Office and a member of Onton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Zachary; one daughter, Cindy Pool of Slaughters, three sons, Ron Zachary of Avon Park, Fla., and Kerry Zachary and Jeff Zachary, both of Slaughters; one brother, Larry Fallis of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters-Hanson Chapel in Slaughters. The Revs. Billy Raby and David Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Onton Cemetery.

DIXON -- Agnes Keller, 84, Dixon, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a housewife who enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Slover Baptist Church in Dixon, where she was treasurer for 35 years.
Survivors include her husband, Noah Joe Keller; one daughter, Jo Ann Scales of Evansville; two sons, Jerry Keller of Owensboro and Eddie Keller of Dixon; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Slover Baptist Church. The Revs. Mack Gibson and Jeffery Vaught will officiate. Burial will be in Slover Cemetery in Dixon.

Walter D. Shiver
Walter D. Shiver, 83, Henderson, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at his home here.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Henderson, Shrine Rizpah Temple in Madisonville, Elks Lodge No. 206, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was also retired from Custom Resin. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Shiver; one daughter, Dee Ann Green of Robards; one stepdaughter, Rita Crafton of Henderson; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Revs. Jim Trader and David Bratcher will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
