HARRODSBURG -- Mary Louise Carter, 82, of Stagg Street died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 9, 1918, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Nora Voorhies Kurtz. She was a homemaker and charter member of Shakertown Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader for many years.
Survivors include two stepsons, Daniel Carter of Harrodsburg and John Carter of Lexington; two brothers, Clarence Kurtz and Jeff Kurtz, both of Harrodsburg; and a sister, Ruth Davis of Harrodsburg.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Kurtz, H.J. Sims, Tommy Camden, Lonnie Jenkins, Boone Logan and Terry Camden.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Alice V. Dunn
STANFORD -- Alice Cuemile "Cue" Vinson Dunn, 81, of Arlington, Va., died Saturday at Manor Care Nursing Home in Arlington.
Born Nov. 17, 1919, she was taught English and drama at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School in Washington, D.C., and then taught English to foreign students at the Americanization School in Georgetown, D.C. She was a member of Briggs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Temple D. Dunn; two sons, Jerrel H. Dunn and Temple J. Dunn, both of Arlington; a brother, Clyde L. Vinson of Lexington; and six sisters, Vera Duvall of Fairfax Station, Va., Ruth Jarrett of Nashville, Ind., Elnora M. Hogue of Elizabethtown, Romona S. Hiatt of Mount Vernon, Joann Vinson-Senecal of Lakeland, Fla., and Ann Smith of Natchez, Miss.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at New Salem Baptist Church by Golvin Chadwell. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

William E. Goins Jr.
LANCASTER -- William Edward Goins Jr., 59, of Village Square died Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born March 10, 1941, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Relda Gilpins Adams of Kansas and the late William E. Goins. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his wife, Patricia Anderson Goins of Louisville; a daughter, Virginia Grant of Lancaster; a son, Steven M. Goins of Lancaster; two brothers, Randall and Frank Goins, both of Kansas; two sisters, Sylvia E. Kea of California and Ruby Bradley of Wyoming; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Jerry Browning and Billy Estes. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

HARRODSBURG -- Hannah Metcalf Harris, 92, of Salvisa died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 30., 1908, in Harlan, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Jane Creech Metcalf. She was a homemaker, member of the Church of Christ, and the widow of Joseph Harris Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hibbard of Springfield, Ohio, and Nawana Durham of Harrodsburg; five sons, Paul Harris of Abingdon, Va., Joe Harris Jr. of Winchester, and Clinton R. Harris, Roland Harris and Rodney Harris, all of Harrodsburg; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Harris. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Joe Workman
LANCASTER -- Joe Workman, 49, of Lake Ridge Drive died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 25, 1951, in Williamson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Irvin and Mary Workman. He was employed by the Wal-Mart maintenance division.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Marie Workman; four sons, Joseph Workman of Lancaster, Keith Workman of Livonia, Mich., and Kevin and Khris Workman, both of Lincoln Park, Mich.; two sisters, Elizabeth Lewis of Lancaster and Helen Stump of Mount Sterling; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Cook. Burial will in Pentecostal Fellowship Church Cemetery.

LIBERTY -- Mary Kathleen Wilham Evans, 51, of Irvington, formerly of Liberty, died Thursday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born March 6, 1949, in Casey County, she was the daughter of Inas Marie Luttrell of Liberty and the late Raymond Luttrell. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Wilham.

Born July 23, 1928, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Lilburn and Lillian Sims Leigh. He was a retired truck owner and driver.

LAWRENCEBURG -- Ruth Casey Sparrow, 89, of Shelbyville, formerly of Anderson County, died Friday at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Lena Sparrow Casey. She was a homemaker and member of Glensboro Baptist Chruch where she taught Sunday School for approximately 55 years. She was the widow of Gilbert Sparrow.
Survivors include three sons, William F. Sparrow of Danville; Marvin "Bob" Sparrow of Shelbyville and Dr. A. Bert Sparrow of Louisville; two brothers, James Casey of Lawrenceburg and Malcolm Casey of Louisville; two sisters, Dorothy Reuer of Alexandria and Nina Best of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, by Glenn Corn. Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
