Eleanor Lee Burdge
Eleanor Lee Burdge, 87, Henderson, died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of Niagara Methodist Church and was a retired seamstress. She was an avid bowler and was active in Senior Olympics, in which she won several medals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alfred Burdge, who died in 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Carrier of Henderson and Helen Denton of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Maurice Jones of Evansville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. John Conn will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Charles T. Book
Charles T. Book, 94, Henderson, died at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Redbanks nursing home.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple for 77 years He served as church clerk, a deacon for many years and a deacon emeritus. He was also a member of the Gideon Sunday School class and was treasurer of the Benovolent Fund. He was a retired farmer and state employee. He was a member of Gideons International.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Book, who died March 18, 1997.
Survivors include cousins.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Plank will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Horace Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, Russ Brown, Dave Kirkpatrick, Jimmy Griffin and Pete Beck.
Harold "Possum" Riggs
Harold "Possum" Riggs, 47, Henderson, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
A member of Kentucky National Guard for 24 years, he was also a member of American Legion Worsham Post No. 40 and was the past governor of Henderson Moose Lodge No. 732, where he had attained the Fellowship Degree. He was employed at Dana Corporation for 29 years and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda G. Riggs; two daughters, Tammy Sanderson and Tabitha Puckett, both of Henderson; one son, Harold Riggs Jr. of Henderson; his parents, William H. and Mary Riggs of Henderson; two sisters, Brenda Berrong and Janet Meserve, both of Henderson; one brother, Jimmie Riggs of Henderson; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tapp Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Yancy will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Tapp Funeral Home, where a Moose Service of Tribute will be held at 7 p.m. today.

Perry Carver
ONTON, Ky. -- Perry Carver, 79, died of cancer Thursday, July 12, 2001, at his home here.
A retired farmer, he attended Onton United Methodist Church and was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Carver.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Norma Melton Carver; one son, Bobby Carver of Carmi, Ill.; one sister, Ruth Parker of Madisonville; four brothers, Curtis Carver of Madisonville, Tommy Carver of Hanson, Raymond Carter of Hampton, Ky., and Hayden Carver of Slaughters; and three granddaughters.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters-Hanson Chapel in Slaughters. The Rev. Selby Coomer will officiate. Burial will be in Onton Cemetery.

Dorothy I. Jaynes
CHENEY, Wash. -- Dorothy I. Jaynes, 80, Cheney, formerly of Henderson, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Cheney Care Center here.
She was a 1939 graduate of Holy Name High School.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Kaschmitter of Davenport, Wash.; one son, David Jaynes of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in Davenport.
Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson at a later date.
Cheney Funeral Chapel in Cheney was in charge of arrangements.
Robert "Bob" Caton
MORGANFIELD -- Robert "Bob" Caton, 78, Morganfield, died of heart failure at 6:10 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, at the home of relatives near here.
He was a retired miner from Peabody Coal Co. He also owned and operated Caton Cab Co. for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anna Caton; his caretakers, Joyce and Donald Curtis of Union County; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. The Rev. Stacey Pearcy will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Edward "Jack" Prow
PROVIDENCE -- Edward "Jack" Prow, 81, Providence, died at 8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, at Regional Medical Center.
A World War II veteran, he was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5484.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Antha Mae Prow; three daughters, Loretta Felker of Providence, Brenda East of Dawson Springs and Donna Russ of Madisonville; one son, William Edward "Shorty" Prow of Providence; three sisters, Blanche Keen of Madisonville and Mary Grondahl and Rose Fritz, both of Providence; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Laddie Pride will officiate. Burial will be in Fox Cemetery in Webster County.
