James John Barron
James John Barron, 89, Henderson, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Rose Barron; two sons, Jimmy Barron and Michael Barron, both of Henderson; two step grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are pending at Tapp Funeral Home.
Ryan K. Buck
OWENSBORO -- Ryan K. Buck, 25, Owensboro, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at John C. Lincoln Hospital North Mountain in Phoenix, Ariz.
A member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church in Owensboro, he was a student at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, being outdoors and animals, especially dogs.
Survivors include his father, Gilbert R. Buck of Owensboro; two brothers, Darian R. Buck of Owensboro and Scott Buck of Knottsville; nieces and one nephew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Owensboro.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro, where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
James I. Caudill
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. -- James I. Caudill, 80, Shelbyville, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Crestview Health Care Center here.
He was a former all-state football player for Newport High School and a member of the 1936 Newport High School state championship football team. He went on to play football at Morehead State University where he earned a bachelor of arts degree. He earned a master's degree at the University of Kentucky. He was a coach at Louisa High School in Lawrence County and later at the Hazard City Independent School District.
Formerly a principal at Hazard High School, he became the superintendent of East Washington School Corp. in Pekin, Ind., and then the superintendent of Hazard City Independent Schools.
A member of Bowman Memorial United Church in Hazard, he was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran; past president of the Lions Club in Hazard and Pekin, Ind.; a member of the Hazard High School Athletic Hall of Fame; and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Carty Caudill; one daughter, Bobbie C. Wills of Shelbyville; three sons, Dr. Jim Caudill of Henderson, Dr. Bill Caudill of Lexington and Dr. Lloyd Caudill of Lebanon, Tenn.; one brother, Clarence Caudill of Fort Thomas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at noon Monday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Shelbyville. The Rev. Barry Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Ila D. "Pert" Griffin
Ila D. "Pert" Griffin, 76, Henderson, died at 9:56 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2001, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
A member of Zion Baptist Church, he was on the Baptism Committee. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dottie Griffin; two daughters, Katherine Carter and Carla Haynes, both of Henderson; two sons, John S. "Steve" Griffin of Henderson and Kenneth Griffin of Tracyton, Wash.; one brother, Paul F. Griffin of Henderson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Eddie Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mary Bassett Connaway
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Mary Bassett Connaway, 92, Elizabethtown, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Hardin Memorial Hospital here.
A native of Grayson County, she was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky Teachers College and taught school in Providence for 10 years. She was a former member of the Garden Club of Elizabethtown and also taught piano. She was secretary for Kentucky Gov. Keen Johnson for two years and worked as a court reporter at Fort Knox.
Survivors include one sister, Martha C. Hope of Melbourne Fla.; and two nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday at Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. The Rev. Billy Compton will officiate. Graveside services will be at 12:45 CDT in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and after 9 a.m. EDT Monday at the church.

Jerome Wayne "Jerry" Willett
UNIONTOWN -- Jerome Wayne "Jerry" Willett, 63, Uniontown, died at 6:23 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Union County.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph David Willett, who died in 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori Jackson of Uniontown and Donna Fowler of Morganfield; one son, Michael Willett of Sturgis; one sister, Faye Rhodes of Owensboro; four brothers, Jack Willett and Eddie Willett, both of Morganfield, Larkie Buckman of Tell City, Ind., and Matt Buckman of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown. The Rev. Bob Willett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown.

Ruby O. Duncan, 80, Henderson, died at 8:58 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. "Poss" Duncan, who died April 8, 2000.
Survivors include three daughters, Joann Ferguson and Debbie Staples, both of Henderson, and Linda Markham of Robards; two sons, Jerry Duncan of Corydon and Ronnie Duncan of Evansville; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home. The Revs. Ferd Elfreich, Greg Duncan and Robert E. Haire will officiate. Burial will be in Corydon Cemetery.
