Eula Fowler Coffman
HANSON -- Eula Fowler Coffman, 80, Hanson, died at 2:18 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
A homemaker, she had previously worked for the Hopkins County School Board at Hanson School. She was a member of Olive Branch Church and the Hanson Eastern Star and had been a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Coffman, who died in 1970.
Survivors include six sons, Danny Coffman of Hanson, Don Coffman of Sebree, Kenny Coffman of Madisonville, Rusty Coffman of Cairo and John Coffman and Steve Coffman, both of Louisville; two sisters, Anna Frances Turley of Louisville and Minnie Stewart of Chicago Heights, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tompkins Funeral Home's Slaughters-Hanson Chapel in Slaughters. The Revs. Bobby Sellers and Scott Casebier will officiate. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Vada Lawson
CLAY -- Vada Lawson, 79, Clay, died at 6 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, William Leroy Lawson; one sister, Nethala Nance of Taylor, Mich.; one brother, Shirley T. Johnson of Bahama, N.C.; nieces and one nephew.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Barry Cullen will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Webster County.
Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Clarence Edward Hatchett Sr.
CHICAGO -- Clarence Edward Hatchett Sr., 69, Chicago, formerly of Henderson, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Bernard Mitchell Hospital here.
He had attended Douglass High School in Henderson, where he was on the track and football teams. He was employed as a barber for 30 years, working for Two Sons Barbershop.
Survivors include his companion of 25 years, Christine Shepherd; four daughters, Anita Wilson, Clarissa Hatchett, Angela Hatchett and Pauline Regulus; three sons, Clarence Hatchett Jr., Paul Hatchett and James Hatchett; one sister, Armetta Rudolph; one half-sister, Venita; 31 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home in Chicago. Burial will be in Restvale Cemetery in Alsip, Ill.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where wake services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
David Klaffer
David Klaffer, 109, Henderson, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, at his home here.
He was the oldest member of Cairo United Methodist Church, where he belonged for 80 years. He was also a farmer and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Kentucky basketball team.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Cordie Denton Klaffer, who died May 30, 1989; and one daughter, Evelyn Alexander, who died October 7, 1989.
Survivors include his son-in-law and caregiver, Bennett Alexander of Henderson; three grandchildren, Gail Snowden, Glenda Guess and David Alexander, all of Henderson; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Maggie "Sally" Eddmenson
Maggie "Sally" Eddmenson, 76, Henderson, died at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was a member of Airline Baptist Church, where she was active in her Sunday School class. She was retired from Gamco after 21 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Eddmenson, who died in August 1996.
Survivors include one son, David Lee Eddmenson of Madisonville; one brother, Harold D. Freels of Greenville, Ky.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Werline will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

STURGIS -- Wavia Jacqueline Paris, 74, Sturgis, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Survivors include one daughter, Debi Edens of Madisonville; one son, Kenneth Paris of Kansas; one sister, Patricia Carter of Sturgis; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. The Rev. Bob Sellers will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.

Sue Cates Herron
HANSON -- Sue Cates Herron, 84, Hanson, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, at her daughter's home in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
She had managed the U-Lock-It Mini Storage Buildings in Madisonville from 1982 to 1996. She was a Christian and member of the Baptist Temple in Madisonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clymas Herron; and one son, David Walter Herron.
Survivors include two daughters, Ada Yvonne Herron Plunkette of Murfreesboro, and Alisa Betty Herron Beeny of Hanson; five sons, Daniel Anthony Herron of Dixon, Paul Gordon Herron of Newburgh, Ind., Richard Duane Herron and Nathaniel Dean Herron, both of Hanson, and Roger Garland Herron of Acworth, Ga.; 25 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters. Bro. Sam Beeny Sr. will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
