Wanda E. York
PROVIDENCE -- Wanda E. York, 85, Providence, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
A homemaker, she was also a cook and seamstress. She had also worked at Providence Plastic Factory for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete York, who died in 1971.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Sue Staggs of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sons, L.D. Farmer of Providence and Leonard Hughie Farmer of Rolla, Mo.; one stepson, Clinton York of Marion, Ky.; one sister, Naomi Hughes of Madisonville; one brother, Carl "Tobby" Burklow of Providence; nine grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Laddie Pride will officiate. Burial will be in Maple View Cemetery in Marion.

Jimmie Carroll Frederick
PROVIDENCE -- Jimmie Carroll Frederick, 84, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, at his home here.
He was a miner at Island Creek Mines. He was a member of the UMWA and Victory Baptist Church in Providence.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Frederick; one daughter, Anna Frederick Boze of Madisonville; one son, Gary Lee Frederick of Providence; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Don Cottrell will officiate. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery in Providence.

John M. Walker
John M. Walker, 80, Henderson, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Medco Center of Henderson.
He was a retired master sergeant from the Air Force Reserves after 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He also had his private pilot's license and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Walker Dillingham of Henderson; one son, Dr. John Michael Walker of Corydon; two sisters, Betty Bradenstein and Claudine Rexroad, both of Evansville; one brother, James Walker of California; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery with full military honors performed by an honor guard from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

William "Bill" Blair
William "Bill" Blair, 75, Cairo, died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was retired from the L&N Railroad and was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Blair, who died in July of 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Wood of Evansville; three sons, William E. "Eddie" Blair of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and David Blair and Ron Blair, both of Cairo; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Pearcy will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

LEESVILLE, La. -- Marilyn Martin Spence, 71, Leesville, formerly of Wheatcroft, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, at a hospital here.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Spence, who died in 1978; one daughter, Linda Spence, who died in 1990; and one son, Gus Spence, who died in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Nicholas Martin of Lancaster, Ky., and Raymond Spence of Clay; one sister, Kay Francis Wilkinson of Sheppardsville, Ky.; one half-sister, Carolyn Bonds of Farmington, Ky.; one half-brother, Gerald T. Martin of Murray; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. The Rev. Jeff McMain will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.

Gladys B. VanDeventer
Gladys B. VanDeventer, 86, Henderson, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, at Redbanks nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. VanDeventer, who died in 1950.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy D. Gentry of Henderson; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. The Rev. Scott Hopkins will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Ruth V. Loveless
Ruth V. Loveless, 85, Henderson, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001, at the home of her daughter.
She was a member of End Time Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Fred Loveless Sr., who died in 1974; and one son, Kenneth Loveless, who died in 1992.
Survivors include six daughters, Doris Stone, Kathy Adkins and LaDonna Duck, all of Henderson, Betty Jo Moore of Huntington Beach, Calif., LaReda Martin of Houston, and Jenon Manion of Robards; four sons, Louis Loveless of Baskett and Vernon Loveless Jr., Larry Loveless and Danny Loveless, all of Henderson; four sisters, Imogene Grimes and Cena Cobb, both of Salem, Ky., Jean Hayes of Henderson and Sue Adams of Jasper, Ind.; three brothers, Carl Cobb of Paducah, J.T. Cobb of Elkhart, Ind., and Jimmy Cobb of Salem; 31 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Revs. Dale Chaney and Jim Villines will officiate. Burial will be in Baskett Cemetery.
