Randolph (Stormey) C. Linton, age 69, died Thursday Dec. 15. 2005 at his home. He was the husband of Betty Covington Linton. He was born Jan. 16, 1936 to the late Authur Mason and Viola Brooks Linton. He was the Director of Public Works for the City of Georgetown, and associated with Kentucky Fried Chicken for many years. He served his country in the Air Force. He was a member of the Walton Baptist Church, a great Golfer. Besides his Wife he is survived by 2 sons, Randy Linton, St. Petersburg, Fl. and Scott Linton, Austin, Tx. Daughter Terri Giles, Austin Tx. 4 stepsons Jimmy Stone, Mike Stone, Todd Stone, John Stone all of Georgetown. 9 Brothers and Sisters, 4 Grandchildren, 6 Step-Grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren. He had 3 life long friends, Harold Campbell, and Dean Poore of Walton and A.J. Martin of Glencoe. A Memorial service will be held at the Northside Christian Church, on Monday Dec. 19, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with pastor Scott Colburn officiating. Lillian M. Barkley age 77 and the widow of Billy Ray Barkley died Thursday December 22, 2005 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Kentucky. She was born on March 30, 1928 inFayette County and was the daughter of the late James T. and Ida Lee Sams Mefford. She is survived by the following family members: Son, David Ray Norton of Sadieville, Ky., Daughters:Betty Lou Reffett and Janet Gail Spigles both of Harrison County, Ky. and Rowena Ray Barkley of Sadieville, Ky. Sisters: Rose Curtis, Pat Morris, Dorothy Gregg and Jean Jenkins all of Georgetown, Ky., Frances Fryman of Sadieville, Ky., and Martha Garnett of Indiana. 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria Collins. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday December 27, 2005 at the Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Sampson age 75 of Stamping Ground, Ky. and the husband of Margaret Ogden Sampson died Saturday December 31, 2005 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was born in Stover, Kentucky on November 18, 1930 and was the son of the late Sherman William and Stella Mae Hill Sampson. He was retired employee of the Landmark Paper Company of Cynthiana, Ky., He was member of the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church of Scott County and a member of the United Methodist Men, He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the V. F. W.. Henry J. Thomas, 82, of Georgetown, Kentucky, formerly of Bloomington, Illinois, died Sunday afternoon in Georgetown. Mr. Thomas was born December 26, 1923 in Normal, Illinois, a son of Henry and Frieda Thomas.He is survived by his wife of twenty three years, Martha Goldia Thomas, one brother, Orville (Betty) Thomas, of Normal, Illinois and one sister, Henrietta Toepke of Bloomington, Illinois; three daughters, Janet (Rex) Lynn Crow of Blue Mound, Illinois, Cindy (Steven) Glass of St Clair, Michigan, and Debra (Richard) Rotz of Bloomington, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Mary Habenicht of Beecher, Illinois and Phyllis (Ken) Hawkinson of Galesburg, Illinois. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Kate and Kelly Crow, Stephanie, Stacy, and Nikki Glass, Stephen (Stephanie) Habenicht, Scott (Kristi) Habenicht, Susan (Ed) Orzechowski, Diane (David) Glenn, Christine (Wayne) Swanson and many great grand children.He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Doris Sullivan Thomas, one son, Gregory H. Thomas, a brother, John C. Thomas, and a childhood sister, Frances Marie Thomas and a grandson Spencer Habenicht. Mr. Thomas was a devoted Christian and loving father and grandfather. He was a engineering graduate of the University of Illinois and retired from Clark Equipment Company in Georgetown in 1980. He was a World War II infantry veteran serving in Europe under General George S. Patton. Mr. Thomas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown.Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home, 320 W. Main St, Georgetown, Kentucky. Lu Mattox Brown, 79, of Georgetown, died Sunday of complications from pneumonia. Mrs. Brown, formerly of Lexington and Danville, was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Read Brown. In earlier years, she was an active member of St. Michael's and Christ Church, Lexington. She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Raymond F. Brown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Nicholas N. Brown of Bowling Green; by two granddaughters, Dr. Katherine M. Brown of Providence, Rhode Island, and Margaret B. Brown of Washington, D. C.; and by a daughter-in-law, Judith M. Brown of Fayetteville. A burial service will be celebrated by the Rev. Anisa Willis at St. Michael's on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
