Ruth Creech Walker, 82, , Cumberland, died Nov. 13, 2005, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Walker was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Harlan County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Flora Stamper Creech; her first husband, Ed Kelly; a brother, Johnny Creech; and a sister, Bessie Creech.
Survivors include her husband, Morgan Walker, Cumberland; three sons: Elmer Kelly and wife, Charmaine, Lynch; Paul Kelly and wife, Carolyn, Cumberland; and Billy Kelly and wife, Karen, Richmond, Va.; seven daughters: Rose Hurt and husband, David, Cumberland; Margaret Cress and husband, Wayne, Cumberland; Evelyn Dodd and husband, Marvin, Richmond, Va.; Delores Franks and husband, Jerry, Cumberland; Florine Jarvis and husband, Leroy, Tennessee; Kay Cornett and husband, Ronnie, Tennessee; and Shelby Swogger, Richmond, Va; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Billy Boggs and the Rev. John Monhollen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Creech Cemetery at Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Kelly Jr., Lee Cress, Walt Kelly, Wayne Cress, David Hurt, Kenneth Kelly, Delzie Kelly and Brandon Kelly.

William Cleon 'Hot Rod' Black, 67, Evarts, died Jan. 18, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Corbin.
A native of Harlan, Black was a 38-year employee of Carquest Auto Parts in Harlan and a member of the Masonic Lodge 897 at Evarts. He believed in the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris Black and Laura Poynter Black; one sister, Evelyn Dimery; and two brothers: Virgil Black and Eugene Black.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 45 years, Shirley Cole Black, Evarts; a daughter, Melody Fultz and husband, Gordon, Harlan; a grandson, Richie Fultz, Harlan; and two special nieces: Mary Ramsey and Jean Dimery, both of Charleston, S.C.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Danny McCreary officiating.
Burial will follow at Evarts Memorial Gardens. Masonic rites will be observed.
Masons will serve as pallbearers.

Jennifer Allison Blair, 21, Partridge, died Jan. 22, 2006, from injuries sustained in a automobile accident.
A native of Harlan, Blair was employed for the past four years by Civic Development and was a student at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. She believed in the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Everett Raleigh; and Kyle and Nancy Shepherd Blair.
Survivors include her mother, Jenny Rennea Raleigh Blair, Partridge; her father, Michael Blair, Partridge; her grandmother, Maude Gibbs Raleigh, Partridge; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Elder Harvey Creech and Elder Bill Maggard officiating.
Burial will follow at Raleigh and Lewis Cemetery.
Sonny Hill, Jerry Gibbs, Todd Blair, Allen Layne and Randy Watts will serve as pallbearers.

Walter Carl Blair, 81, Stephenson, Mich., formerly of Harlan, died Jan. 21, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Holmes Mill, Blair was a retired coal miner with Jericol Mining Company and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He served during World War II with the U.S. Navy and believed in the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Candas Short Blair and Paris Blair; two sisters: Mona Creech and Nora Witt; and four brothers: Orville, Clarence, Dexter and Cecil Blair.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gladys Ruth Oliver Blair, Stephenson, Mich.; his son, Wally Blair, and wife, Deb, Niagara, Wis.; a sister, Dorothy Madden, Ridgeway, Ill.; two brothers: Don Blair and wife, Betty, Taylorsville; and Thurman Blair and wife, Rita, Hamlin; a granddaughter, Brooke Hatcher, Williamsburg; a great-grandson, Caden Hatcher, Williamburg; three sisters-in-law: Elsie Blair, Beulah Gardner and Sarah Blair; special friends: Frank Pfiffe and Glen Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Peggy Sue Patterson Bledsoe, 52, Rosspoint, died Jan. 23, 2006, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A native of Harlan, Bledsoe was a homemaker and believed in the Holiness faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billie Rhea Patterson; a sister, Flora Jean Bledsoe; and two brothers: William Dale Patterson and Michael Chris Patterson.
Survivors include her mother, Audrey Patterson, Coxton; a son, Edward Darrell Bledsoe Jr., Rosspoint; three sisters: Mary Ford, Verda; Linda Brock, Coxton; and Paula Jones and husband, Dusty, Verda; five brothers: David Patterson and wife, Martha, Dizney; Kenneth Patterson and wife, Pauline, London; Tim Patterson and wife, Velma; Billy Patterson and Jimmy Patterson, both of Coxton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Reneva Sparkman Bradley, 61, Gordon, died Jan. 29, 2006, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A native of Letcher County, she was a retired school teacher having taught for 31 years. She was a member of the Gordon Fire Department, Retired Teacher's Association and Sandhill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, McKinley and Nancy Lewis Sparkman; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin Bradley, Gordon; two children: Charles Stacey Bradley, Gordon; and Kimberly Sue Cornett, Cumberland; six grandchildren: Charles McKinley Bradley; Hunter Bradley Cornett; Whitney, Nathaniel and Philip Gilliam; and Dylan Cornett; two brothers: Arnold Riddle and Colon Sparkman; and three sisters: Oakie Powell, Lonnie Cornett and Hazel Skidmore.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home.

James Earl Carroll, 88, Johnson City, Tenn., formerly of Harlan, died Jan. 9, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Bandy, Carroll was a retired sales manager with the National Industrial Epoxy Corporation and was a veteran of World War II, serving in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 930 of Loyall, the Scottish Rite Temple and was a former member of the Johnson City Civitan Club and the United Commercial Travelers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Mae Duncan Carroll; his wife, Charlene Mullins Carroll; three sisters: Edith Carroll Bolin, Mildred Carroll Smith and Gaynelle Carroll Baumgardner; and a brother, John B. Carroll Jr.
Survivors include his brother, Edward Carroll and wife, Faye, Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters: Lorene Carroll Terry, Jonesville, Va.; and Doris Carroll Kooch, Wash.; nieces and nephews: Alex Smith, Harlan; and Patti Smith Fannon, Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral services were conducted in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home on Jan. 11. Masonic rites were performed.
Burial followed at Lee Memorial Gardens.
