Daniel Lee (Danny) Bunch, 55, Loyall, died Oct. 31, 2005, at Harlan ARH Hospital.
A native of Brookside, Nunch had lived in Harlan most of his life. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and he believed in the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Bunch and Fannie Mae Bunch.
Survivors include a brother, Tony Bunch, North Carolina; a sister, Sue Blakley, Loyall; seven nieces and nephews: Jerry Blakley, Denny Farmer, Jeremy Parker, Tony Bunch, Debra Bunch, Tonya Bunch and Tia Bunch; one great-niece, Haley Nycole Blakley; and one great-nephew, Brayden Chase Blakley.
Visitation was held Tuesday in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Farmer officiating.
Burial will be today in Evarts Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. with military rites.
Members of the Harlan County Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.

Mary M. Burnett, 76, Tazewell, Tenn., formerly of Harlan, died Nov. 14, 2005, at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
A native of Cutshin, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Mountain Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Martha Lewis Turner; a brother, Jim Turner; and two sisters: Cindy Causey and Tilda Blevins.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Burnett, Tazewell, Tenn.; a son, Douglas Wayne Burnett and wife, Willa, Tazewell, Tenn.; two daughters: Juel Lewis and husband, Roger, Tazewell, Tenn.; and Debbie Lee Lewis and husband, Bobby Ray, Hyden; three brothers: Winfried Turner and wife, Alice, Yeaddiss; Hobert Turner and wife, Ethel, Hyden; and Ronnie Turner and wife, Judy, Hyden; two sisters: Gracie Lewis and husband, Denver, Bledsoe; and Donna Kaye Sizemore and husband, Floyd Jr., Hyden; two grandchildren: Roger Dale Lewis Jr. and Angelia Lewis Ramey; three great-grandchildren: Shawn D. Hensley, Jordan Lewis and Sara Lewis; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is today after 5 p.m. at the Pine Mountain Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Kermit Creech, Rev. Winfred Causey and Rev. Roger Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Ernest William Caldwell Sr., 79, Cranks, died Oct. 31, 2005, at his residence.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA and a member of the Cawood Church of God for 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige and Dorothy Caldwell; two children, Harold Caldwell and Betty Caldwell; and one sister, Virginia Nolan.
Survivors include his wife, Stella King Caldwell, Cranks; seven children: Eulalah Skidmore, Cranks; Freeda Skidmore, Cranks; Evelyn Broyles and husband, Kermit, Sale Creek, Tenn.; June Qualls and husband, Tom, Cawood; Robert Caldwell, Cranks; Ernest Jr. Caldwell, Rosspoint; and David Caldwell and wife, Melissa, Cawood; 38 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cawood Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Cawood Church of God with the Rev. Jeff Farmer and the Rev. Howard Farmer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Day-Jackson Cemetery in Cranks.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Kimberly Fain Casteel, 43, Maynardville, Tenn., formerly of Harlan, died Nov. 12, 2005, at her residence.
Casteel was an associate of Wal-Mart and believed in the Presbyterian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Fain and Betty Eleanor Padgett; and a grandmother, Mae Riddle.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Casteel III, Maynardville, Tenn.; three children: Donald L. Hensley and fiancee, Jamie Vanwinkle, Knoxville, Tenn.; Ashley N. Howard and husband, Daniel, , Harlan; and Sarah M. Hensley, Maynardville, Tenn.; two grandchildren: Bryan Hensley and Bradley Keith Howard; a brother, Jimmy Peters and wife, Norma, Speedwell, Tenn.; four sisters: Kathy Blanton, Ashburn, Va.; Sue Miley and husband, Tim, Brandon, Fla.; Patty Walker and husband, Bob, Knoxville, Tenn.; and Vickie Lynn Fain, Manassa, Va.; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Arthur Lee Clark, 91, Lynch, died Nov. 11, 2005, at his home following a long illness.
A native of Inman, Va., Clark had lived in Lynch for over 65 years. He was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA Local 7425 in Cumberland. He was also a member of the Poorfork Church of Christ in Baxter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Katherine Clay Clark; a son, Gene Clark; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Browning Clark, Lynch; two daughters: Anita Wiley and husband, Bob, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Kim Hendrickson and husband, Tom, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Norma Clark, Big Stone Gap, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a special grandson, Tony Clark and wife, Susie, Cumberland.
Visitation was held Sunday at Tri-City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Forester officiating.
Burial will follow in the Huff Cemetery at Cumberland.

Clyde Carson Clayborn, 82, Cranks, died Nov. 15, 2005, at his residence following a long illness.
He was a native of Grundy, Va. and lived most of his life in Harlan County. He believed in the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Tina Ball Clayborn; one brother and a sister-in-law, Ralph and Pauline Clayborn; and one nephew, Marvin Clayborn.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews: Jerry Clayborn and wife, Kay; Paul Clayborn and wife, Jamie; Ralph Clayborn; Jerry Clyde Clayborn and Jesse Clayborn, all of Cranks; James Clayborn and wife, Maxine, Bob's Creek; Ronnie Clayborn and wife, Connie, Cranks; Marlene Hensley and husband, Jack, Wallins; Jackie Clayborn, Treemont; special friend, Wilma Garrett, Cranks; and a host of other family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday at the Cranks Pentecostal Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at the church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Pace officiating.
Burial will take place in the Day-Jackson Cemetery in Cranks.

Rev. Thomas Cook
Knoxville, Tenn.

The Rev. Thomas Cook, Knoxville, Tenn., died Oct. 24, 2005.
He was the former pastor at the Harlan Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He attended Sam E. Hill Elementary School while growing up in the Lonsdale community. He is a graduate of Austin High School (Class of 1968).
After high school, Thomas became the lead singer in a doo-wop group that became known around Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville and other areas throughout the state.
He married
his high school sweetheart, Roberta D. Livsey, on March 29, 1970.
Thomas joined the Knox County-City School System as the head supervisor over maintenance and spent the next 15 years of his life affecting the lives of the youth that he served.
He become visible in his community through a summer youth employment program. This program allowed him to mentor and become a role model for the young men and women he employed. He worked diligently until his health began to fail him, leaving the school system due to health problems and illness.
Cook worked in a jail and prison ministry, providing Bibles, paper, pencils, stamps and other necessities for inmates.
He went on to obtain his theological training and degree from Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy. He also attended Bible Preachers School, obtaining a degree in theology on April 27, 1996.
He became senior chaplain of the Knoxville City and County Police Department with 19 years of service. Cook was awarded the diploma for senior chaplain July 17, 2003. He served on the Knox County Disciplinary Board and the Knox County Juvenile Assistance Board. He celebrated 11 years in the pastorate on July 10, 2005, at Mount Olive Baptist Church of Harlan.
His hobbies were reading and raising German shepherd dogs.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Helen Tate Cook; a sister, Joyce Morelan; and a brother, Larry Cook.
Survivors include his wife Roberta D. Cook, two daughters: Nicole G. Cook and Kimberly Cook, his grandchildren, Dee, KeKe and Nene; two brothers: Charles Cook, Knoxville; and Allen Cook and wife, Pauletta, Nashville, aunts: Verna Mae Swafford, Athens, and Mary L. Saffell, Knoxville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family and friends, including Jake Steele and Eddie L. Jones Sr.
Visitation will be held Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at Harlan Mount Olive Baptist Church in Clovertown
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Clarence Hall and the Rev. Robert Henry officiating.
Burial will be held at New Gray Cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn.
