HARRODSBURG -- John H. Baker, 93, of Harrodsburg died Monday at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore.
Born Sept. 30, 1906, in Moreland, he was a son of the late George C. and Allie Haley Baker. He was a plumber for Goodlett and Hazlett. He was an Army veteran and a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church, Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was the widower of Aline Tatum Baker.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer J. Long of Harrodsburg; a son, Michael Bugg of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Mark Girard. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

She died Monday at Charleston Health Care Center, Danville.
Born March 18, 1909, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Florence Keeling Settles. She was a homemaker, a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was the widow of Walter B. Deringer.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin and Rueben Deringer, both of Harrodsburg; four daughters, Juanita Bottom of Washington County, Ella Rose Bottoms of Mackville, and Mary Lee Wilkerson and Shirley Logue, both of Harrodsburg; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Daryl and Sheryl Deringer.
Pallbearers will be Joedy Bottom, Wayne Deringer, Donnie Bottoms, Howard Logue Jr., Mark Wilkerson and Roger Deringer.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 7-11 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, and noon Wednesday until time of service at the church.

"Buddie" King of Berea, Steve, Marvin, Johnny and Ricky King, all of McKinney, and Bobby King of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Dora Sherbert of Lexington, Virginia Gordon of Stanford, Rosie McCoy of Prestonsburg and Teresa King of Danville; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Brown, Jason King, Marvin Carey Jr., Tony Short, Kenny Hodge, Zack McCoy, and Jamie and Lynn Releford.

Born June 15, 1918, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry K. and Hester Sims Yates. She was co-owner of pharmacies in Lexington, Nicholasville and Elizabethtown. She was a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Mickey Ragland of Glendale; a daughter, Joy Nasados of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Elizabeth James of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren; and a great grandson.
