Mildred Ruby Meadows, 82, Calhoun, Ga., died Feb. 2, 2004, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Elizzabeth Pace Thomas; two brothers, James and Fred Thomas; a sister, Leatha Thomas; her husband, Kelsey Meadows; and a daughter, Dorothy Jean Meadows.
Survivors include a brother, Creed Thomas, Florida; three sons: Earnest Jordon Meadows, Gilbert Kelsey Meadows and Mark Anthoney Meadows, all of Williamsburg; five daughters: Carolyn Elizzabeth Burnette and Margaret Stepp, both of Calhoun, Ga.; Rosa Laws, Killeen, Texas; Leatha Daniels, Baxter; and Virgie Lindsey, Evarts; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

George Napier Jr., 77, Garrison, died Feb. 1, 2004, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center.
A native of Harlan County, Napier was a retired coal miner an believed in the Holiness faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lillie Day Napier; one brother, Saul Napier; and one sister, Melissa Jane Shelton.
Survivors include three children: Jackie Britton, Smith; Lottie Puckett, Ohio; and Mildred Helsinger, Ohio; one brother, Lloyd Napier, Cold Springs; four sisters: Delphia Day, Covington; Faye Gilliam, Grayson; Alice Greene, Grayson; and Mary Lamping, Cincinnati; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Brock and the Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating.
Burial will follow in the Napier Cemetery in Bledsoe.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mary Saylor, 88, Paulding, Ohio, died Jan. 18, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Payne, Ohio.
A native of Harlan County, Saylor was a member of the Convoy Baptist Church in Convoy, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Sally Howard Edds; her husband, Arthur Saylor; a grandchild, two great-grandchildren, seven brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include three sons: Lennis, Lehaman and Dennis Saylor, all of Payne, Ohio; three daughters: Lois Greninger and husband, Don, Payne, Ohio; Vivian Copsey and husband, Duane, Iola, Kan., and June Bredemyer and husband, Karl, Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were conducted on Jan. 21 at the Payne Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Terry Brock, Bud Wall and Michael Harper officiating.
Burial followed in the Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne.

Charles Seymour, 62, Wallins, died Jan. 31, 2004, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was a retired truck driver and believed in the Church of Christ faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Gertrude Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hensley Seymour, Wallins; a son, Hamp Seymour and his wife, Derecha, Chatsworth, Ga.; one grandson, Dustin Seymour, Chatsworth, Ga.; along with several brothers, sisters and relatives.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. James Forrester officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Herbert Eugene Wynn, 58, Clinton, Tenn., formerly of Ages, died Jan. 30, 2004, at his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Delora Hensley Wynn; three brothers: Elmer, Hershel and Kenneth Wynn; and two sisters: Dolly Jane Wynn and Jean Besaw.
Survivors include seven brothers: Charles Wynn and wife, Bonnie, Lily; Monroe Wynn and wife, Lillian, Claxton, Tenn.; Noble Wynn and wife, Varnell, Ages; Jerry Wynn and wife, Patsy, Keavy; Ralph Wynn, Clinton, Tenn.; Brady Wynn Jr., and wife, Charlotte, Paducah; and Murphy Wynn and wife, Barbara, Culver, Ind.; two sisters: Jewel Blanton and husband, Sam, Ohio; and Sue Daughtery, Newark, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Ages Assembly Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 3:30 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Robert King and the Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Wynn Family Cemetery in Ages.

Eddie Cornett
Eddie Cornett, 76, formerly of Letcher County, died March 13, 2004, at his home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in Korea and was a retired mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Nancy Ann Mineyard Cornett.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Mae Boggs Cornett; one son, Eddie Randell Cornett, Chicago; two daughters: Brenda Blackburn, Ulysses; and Linda Osborne, Louisa; two brothers: Otis Cornett, Gordon; and Alfred Cornett, Cumberland; two sisters: Myrtle Lewis, Gordon; and Doshia Lewis, Michigan; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted March 16 at the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Blair officiating.
Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
The Auxier Chapter No. 18 of D.A.V. conducted military services at the gravesite.

Dock Herren
Dock Herren, 79, Loyall, died March 26, 2004, at his residence following a long fight with cancer.
He was a self-employed electrician and owned Herren's Electric in Loyall for several years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Loyall where he had served as a deacon for 30 years and taught Sunday School. He was very active in the Gideons International for several years. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country in World War II. He was a member of the Loyall American Legion Post 273.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Franklin and Eva Miller Herren.
Survivors include his wife: Laurawilla Thomas Herren; four children: the Rev. Valerie Deanne Herren Johnson and husband, Michael, Berea, Douglas Allen Herren and wife, Debbie, Loyall, Candace Elaine Herren, Loyall, and Dr. Michael Christopher Herren and wife, Rebecca Vawter, Versailles; three grandchildren: April Michelle Herren, Laura Ashlee Johnson and Parker Suzanne Herren; one great-granddaughter: Piper Nicole Johnson; a brother-in-law: Danny Thomas; two sisters-in-law: Billie Rhea Zimmerman and Teetle Wyatt; a special friend: Trenna Cornett; a nephew: Edward F. Vowell and wife, Barbara; his mother-in-law: Viola Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today from 5 until 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Loyall.
A celebration of life will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Shannon Benefiel and the Rev. A. J. Hensley officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Herren's Sunday School class and his special friend, Albert Roper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Mountain Heritage Hospice, Gideons International Harlan Camp, the Boy Scouts of America or a church of your choice.
