Ida Leona Cox Malone
1915-2009
MOREHEAD – Ida Leona Cox Malone, age 93, of Cecil Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Owingsville, Kentucky.
She was born June 21, 1915, in Alamo, Wheeler County, Georgia, the sixth child and fifth daughter of the William Matthew and Ida Jane Coleman Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five sisters, Alice Cox Smith, Addie Cox Browning, Clemmie Cox Thomas, Eva Cox Holbrook, and Mildred Cox Cone, and two brothers, J. D. Cox and Dewey Cox.
On February 28, 1933, Ida married
the Rev. Alton Hodge Malone in Plant City, Florida. Rev. Malone was a minister who served Southern Baptist churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia. Mrs. Malone worked as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1974 from the Georgia Baptist Bookstore in Atlanta. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Following retirement, the Malones returned to Plant City, Florida. On September 11, 1999, after 66 years of marriage, Rev. Malone passed away. In 2000, Mrs. Malone moved to Morehead to be near her son and family.
Mrs. Malone is survived by one son, Alton H. (Bill) Malone, Jr. and wife Carol of Morehead, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Kay Malone Hedrick (Rusty) of Morehead, Kentucky, and William Mack Malone of Keller, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Katherine Lane Hedrick, William Andrew Hedrick, and Anna Grace Hedrick, all of Morehead, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at the Hopewell Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Plant City, Florida. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.

James “Jimmie” Winkler
1945-2009
MOREHEAD – James “Jimmie” Winkler, age 63, of Wilmore, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Thompson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky.
He was born August 22, 1945, in Richmond, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Chenault and Chilma James Winkler.
He is survived by an aunt and uncle, Curt and Fern James Pennington of Morehead, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmie served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Graveside services were conducted 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Brown Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. There was no visitation.
Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Frank Edward Worack
1952-2009
Frank Edward “Fritz” Worack passed away April 15, 2009. He was 56 years old. His lifelong love of animals led him to assist in running an animal rescue shelter in Kentucky. He was proud of his work with animals and of his skills in carpentry. He grew up in Michigan but Kentucky became his home. He had a wonderful friendship with Susan Lacy, who helped him rebuild his life.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Worack, his sisters, Sue Novak and Wendy David (Allen) and four nephews, Ryan, Bryce, Nick and A.J. The family suggests a donation to a local animal shelter in his name.
Debra Jean Trent Howard
1957-2009
MOREHEAD – Debra Jean Trent Howard, age 51, of Criqueside Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born October 30, 1957, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Darlene Dillon Trent of Morehead, Kentucky, and Emerson Trent, who passed away June 19, 2001.
In addition to her mother, Debra is survived by her husband, Clifford Howard; two sons, Rodney Clevenger and Scottie Clevenger, both of Morehead; one stepson, Jerry Howard of Morehead, Kentucky; two step daughters, Kristy Fultz of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Kimberly Harvey of Ezel, Kentucky; one brother, Ricky Lee Trent of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Shirley Sue Gardner of Morehead, Kentucky.
Also surviving are two grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Debra was a former employee of Pathways of Morehead and the Rest Area on I-64 East.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Lonnie Conn and Brother Phillip Fraley officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Howard, Adam Barker, Daniel Austin, Arnold Moore, Tim Harvey, and Willie Dehart.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Charles Roe Jr.
1944-2009
MOREHEAD – Charles Roe Jr., 64, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Elliottville and Bellville, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on December 29, 1944 in Elliottville, Kentucky, the son of the late Charles and Lula Skaggs Roe.
He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Michigan after thirty-five years of service. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and was a member of the Beatty Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue DeWitt Roe, whom he married
on December 29, 1962, one son, Timothy Charles Roe of Springfield, Ohio, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cynthia Carol and Mike Powell of Springfield, Ohio, Dorrena Fields of Michigan and Laura Alta and Bob Ruetenik of Springfield, Ohio, nine grandchildren, Ashley (Travis), Joshua, Lance, Arika, Austin, Madeline, Dean, Dillon and Jasmine, one great granddaughter, Addie, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doreen and Tom Eldridge of Hamilton, Ohio, Marie and Ben Reffett of Indiana and Murrel Perkins of Morehead, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Franklin Roe of Michigan, Garland and Geraldine Roe of Winchester, Eldon and Juanita Roe and Noah and Hildreth Roe all of Elliottville and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Denver Roe, Edgar Roe and Glenn Roe.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Beatty Freewill Baptist Church, 3107 Springfield-Xenia Road, Springfield.
Burial will be in the Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio.

Virgil “Stonewall” Marion Bibee
1938-2009
MOREHEAD – Virgil “Stonewall” Marion Bibee, age 70, of Lambert Hollow, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at his residence.
He was born December 10, 1938, in Robertson County, Tennessee, and was the son of the late Louis Franklin and Annie Eva Morris Bibee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Elizabeth Carroll.
He is survived by two daughters, Selena Bibee and Bill Stiltner of Morehead, Kentucky, and Shana Skeens and husband Randy of Salt Lick, Kentucky; four brothers, G. F. Clifford Bibee and wife Maryann of Belleville, Illinois, Richard H. Bibee of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Leroy W. Bibee and wife Silva of Springfield, Tennessee, and Silas Burns Bibee and wife Rowena of Ashburnham, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Bibee served in the U. S. Air Force and was a self-employed lawn care specialist. He enjoyed gardening and making Bibee’s Bar-B-Que.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery, West Main Street, Morehead.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Victor Raymond McKenzie
1931-2009
MOREHEAD – Victor Raymond McKenzie, age 77, of Naples, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida.
Born May 3, 1931, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Carl and Eve Pitts McKenzie.
He is survived by three children, Lonnie Keith McKenzie, Brian McKenzie, and Debbie Kay McKenzie, all of Middletown, Ohio; one sister, Essie Lovely and husband Rev. Bernard Lovely of Morehead, Kentucky; and five grandchildren.
Mr. McKenzie served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a retired union carpenter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ben Furman and Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Seth Richardson, John Holbrook, Brian McKenzie, Lance Lovely, Eric Lovely, Samuel Hargis, and David Lovely.
