Dana Lyn Howard
1976-2007
MOREHEAD - Dana Lyn Howard, age 31, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born August 18, 1976, in Rowan County, Kentucky, Dana is survived by her parents, Connie Gibson Thompson and husband Johnny; her companion of 14 years, Jeffrey S. Adkins; one son, Jeffrey Taylor Khi Adkins, and one daughter, Shayla Rasche Adkins, both at home; and two brothers, John Thompson and Brad Thompson, both of Morehead.
Dana was a Morehead State University Physical Plant employee.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ed Beam, Roger Fouch, Brad Thompson, Chris Hampton, Clyde Royse, Alex Messer, and John Thompson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Kaylee Brook Maze
1996-2007
HILLSBORO - Kaylee Brook Maze, age 11, of Hillsboro Branch, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 5, 2007, at her home after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.
She was born October 24, 1996, in Maysville, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Marty and Sandra Kegley Maze of Hillsboro. She is also survived by two sisters, Kelly Dawn Maze and Kenedy Hope Maze, both at home; paternal grandparents, J. W. and Wanda Humphries Maze of Hillsboro. Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Elwood and Barb Davis Kegley of Mt. Carmel, Kentucky; and paternal great-grandmother, Gladys Hatfield Humphries of Hillsboro, Kentucky.
Kaylee, a fifth-grade student at Hillsboro Elementary, loved school, working on the computer, riding the John DeereGator, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hamm officiating. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Maze, Mason Maze, Joey Porter, Johnny Sibert, Michael Humphries, and Jeff Drury. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Hunley, Kelly Charles, Aaron Humphries, Brett Fraley, and Mark Henderson.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Timothy Michael Riddle
1995-2007
MOREHEAD - Timothy Michael Riddle, age 12, of Pettit Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007, at his home.
He was born July 6, 1995, in Morehead, Kentucky, and is the son of Cecil and Janie Lyons Riddle of Morehead. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Jared Riddle, at home; three sisters, Brittany Layne of Morehead, Kentucky; Emily Riddle and Feby Ann Riddle, both at home; paternal grandmother, Feby Mays Riddle Law of Clearfield, Kentucky; and special aunts, Kathy Johnson Adams, Della Thornsberry, Cheryl Kelsey, and Flory Conn.
Timmy was a sixth-grade student at Rowan County Middle School.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gayle Price officiating. Burial was in the Lee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Riddle, Chris Kelsey, David Stone, Brian Riddle, and Austin Johnson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Richard Wayne Stewart
1930-2007
MOREHEAD - Mr. Richard Wayne Stewart, 77, of Clearfield, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 in the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Kentucky after a brief illness.
He was born on November 3, 1930 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Roy and Mable Cork Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was retired from the Kentucky Utilities Company after many years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Phelps Lodge No. 482, El Hasa Shrine, Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 and the Forty & Eight. Mr. Stewart was very active in the American Legion and served in many offices on the local, state and national level.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 Years, Evelyn Springer Stewart of Clearfield, one son, Scott Stewart and his wife Elizabeth Waldner of Seattle, Washington, one daughter, Susan Stewart of Clearfield and one sister Jean Stone of Trenton, New Jersey.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 12, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Chaplain Pete Hamm officiating. Full Military rites were conducted at the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Private burial will be held later in the Brown Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Evelyn Diann Fannin VanHoose
1965-2007
MOREHEAD - Evelyn Diann Fannin VanHoose, age 42, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning November 8, 2007, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born August 7, 1965, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Carl and Rosemary Baker Fannin of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Diann is also survived by her husband of 19 years, Jason S. VanHoose, whom she wed on May 14, 1988; and their children, Jason Stephen VanHoose II, Justin Scott VanHoose, and Andrea Leigh VanHoose, all at home; two sisters, Opal Ann Fannin of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Laura Margaret Plank of Morehead, Kentucky.
Diann was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Carlos Fannin and Shirley Baker.
Diann graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University and was an employee at McDoogles. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved to cook and spoil her family. An especially caring person, Diann would inconvenience herself to help others. She was a member of Trinity Christian Fellowship.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wade Muncy officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers will be David Jesse, Scott McGlone, Kevin McGlone, Mike Burton, J. W. Thomas, William Baker, John VanHoose, Mark Murray, Kevin Jones, Robert Combess, Tom James, and Eric Hickman. Honorary pallbearers were Stephen Butcher and David Butcher.
Arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Timothy Scott Riggs
1979-2007
MOREHEAD - Timothy Scott Riggs, age 28, of Ravenswood Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 5, 1979, in Rowan County, Kentucky, son of Penny Sue Bradford Riggs Kenley of Morehead, Kentucky, and John David Riggs of Owingsville, Kentucky.
Other survivors include his fiancée, Randi Danielle Wallace; two brothers, Jonathan David Riggs of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Steven Lee Kenley of Morehead, Kentucky; two step-brothers, Mike Jude of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Brandon Layne of Marysville, Tennessee; and maternal grandfather, Ellis Bradford of Morehead, Kentucky.
Timothy was a self-employed landscaper.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Greg Guy and Thomas Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in the Polksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Clinger, Jamie Clay, Evans Lane, Travis Sorrell, Nick Sorrell, Michael Jude, and Seth Clay.

Mauverine Miles Cassady
1918-2007
MOREHEAD - Mauverine Miles Cassady, age 89, widow of Clifford R. Cassady, former Superintendent of Rowan County Schools, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.
Mauverine was born on November 29, 1918, in Elliott County, KY. She was the daughter of James H. and Arizona Pennington Miles and the sister of Eugene Miles and Ernest Miles.
Mauverine was a 1935 graduate of Breckinridge Training School and received a BA in Education from Morehead State Teachers College in 1939. From 1939-1943, Mauverine taught at Old House Creek, Elliottville, Farmers, and Clearfield Elementaries in Rowan County. From 1943-1945, Mauverine was employed as a secretary at Morehead State College, and from 1945-1947 as an accounting clerk at Glen L. Martin Aeronautics in Baltimore, Maryland. Mauverine worked as an administrative assistant at Lee Clay Products Company, Clearfield, KY, from 1947-1955. From 1961-1998, Mauverine was employed as Office Manager for the Rowan County Board of Education.
Mauverine was a member of the Morehead United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Morehead Woman’s Club and the Morehead Canasta Club.
Mauverine is survived by her daughter, Cathy Cassady Corbin; her son-in-law, Tom Corbin; her nieces, Patty Lichtle, Memphis, TN, Gladys Horn, Inez, KY, Carol Mills, Inez, KY, Brenda Akers, Inez, KY, Karen Marcum, Grayson, KY; and her nephews, John Russell Copley, Fort Myers, FL, Darrell Marcum, Grayson, KY, David Marcum, Davis, CA, Bill Cassady, Beaver, WV, Chris Cassady, Tallahassee, FL, and Randy Cassady, Inez, KY.
Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. J. D. Reeder officiating. Burial was in Lee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ron Suttle, David Mirus, Joe Kaelin, Darrell Marcus, Gary Trent, and Ted Trent.
Honorary pallbearers were Jay Booth, Kenneth Bland, John Brock, Willie Pennington, Norman Riley, Harvey Pennington, Ken Howard, Wales Trent and Billy Ray James.
