Bernard M. Barnett
1930-2007
MOREHEAD - Bernard M. Barnett, age 76, of Brown Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007, at his residence.
Born December 16, 1930, in Elliott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Silas and Bessie Blankenbeckler Barnett. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Orrin Barnett, and four sisters, Maxine Conley, Lola Jones, Lois Wittmayer, and Barbara Bridges, and two infant siblings, Dorothy and Eugene.
He was a Korean War Veteran. After advanced training at Camp Roberts, California, with a tank unit, he spent his Tour of Duty with the 350th Infantry Regiment in Austria, Germany, and Italy.
After military, he worked 30 years in Dayton, Ohio, at General Motors Brake Division Delco Moraine (now Delphi Chassis), retiring in 1984. He moved back to Kentucky and spent his retirement years hunting, fishing, gardening, attending Bluegrass Festivals, and playing the horses.
He is survived by a son, Jamie Barnett of Amelia, Ohio, and two sisters, Loretta (Tom) Tipton of Dayton, Ohio, and Violet Barnett of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Private services will be conducted. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Wanda Mae Plank Stacy
1934-2007
MOREHEAD - Wanda Mae Plank Stacy, age 73, of Barn Branch Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007, at her residence.
She was born March 30, 1934, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Dick “Richard” and Ola Fisher Plank. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Plank, and one sister, Dorothy Roth.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Stacy; two sons, Woody Stacy of Morehead, Kentucky, and Rick Plank of Wartburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Jean Martin of Hebron, Indiana, and Freeda Beaty of Jamestown, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Stacy was a former Flemingsburg Shoe Factory employee, Rowan County school system bus driver, and St. Claire Regional Medical Center surgery technician. She was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Crank and the Rev. Carlos Bowman officiating. Burial was in the Adams-Plank Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eugene Plank, Larry Joe Plank, Danny martin, Aubrey Little, Cliff Stacy, Jimmy Dean Stacy, Dale Estep, and Rocky Stacy. Honorary pallbearers were Ottis Stacy, Bruce Beaty, Jim Blythe, Willie Stacy, Jim Stacy, Dallas Plank, and Lowell Fryman.
Visitation was Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel.
Patrick Samuel Caudill
1954-2007
MOREHEAD - Patrick Samuel Caudill, age 53, of Larry Baynum Road, West Union, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at his residence.
Born October 30, 1954, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Glenn Moore (Denny) and Emma Caudill. He was a U.S. Postal Service employee for seven years and served in the U.S. Air Force eight years.
Survivors include four sons: Michael Patrick Caudill and Samuel Jason Caudill, both of Ashland, Kentucky; Christopher Glenn Caudill of Rush, Kentucky; and Derek Lee Caudill of South Point, Ohio; one daughter: Misty Nichole Caudill of Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers: Danny Hasson of Ashland, Kentucky, and Kevin Hasson of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters: Tiny Hasson of Phoenix, Arizona; Debbie Luthiel of West Union, Ohio; and Sherry Hasson of San Francisco, California; and ten grandchildren: Autumn, Dylan, Brandon, Bradley, Destiney, Adrianna, Isaiah, Madison, Kyla, and Bracken.

Billy Ray DeHart
1954-2007
MOREHEAD – Billy Ray DeHart, 53, of Clearfield passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on June 16, 1954 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late James Oliver DeHart and Clona Trent Mikkelson.
Mr. DeHart was a truck driver and he did small engine repair work. He was of the Church of God Faith and he enjoyed doing mechanic work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dan DeHart and one sister, Vickie DeHart.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Smith DeHart of Tollesboro, one son, William Oliver DeHart of Owensboro, one daughter, Crystal Zornes of Tollesboro, four brothers, Gene DeHart of Morehead, Steve DeHart of Warren, Ohio, Jeff DeHart and David DeHart both of Antigo, Wisconsin, two sisters, Bernice Smith and Mary S. Ralph both of Antigo, Wisconsin and two grandchildren, Shyanne Zornes and Payton Zornes.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, December 20, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Jason Trent Cemetery.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Reba Jewel Jennings Hinton
1917-2007
MOREHEAD - Reba Jewel Jennings Hinton, age 90, of Jackson Drive, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at her residence.
She was born March 7, 1917, in Elliott County and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mimi Porter Jennings. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Finley Hinton on August 9, 1998; one son, Scotty Marlin Hinton on May 12, 1992; three sisters: Maudie Nichols, Susie Hinton, and Ivy Jennings; and two brothers: Hobert and Ray Jennings.
She is survived by seven sons: James R. and Rosemary Maddix Hinton of Olive Hill; Morris D. and Margery Spencer Hinton of Wellington, Ohio; Gentry D. and Maria Nati Moreno Hinton of Lake Elsinore, California; Dale W. and Linda Oney Hinton of Middleburg, Florida; Jerry E. and Sally Shaw Hinton of Hillsboro, Ohio; Daniel L. and Colette Hamilton Hinton of Fostoria, Ohio and Ricky L. Hinton of Lexington; six daughters: Janet C. Hinton of Ona, West Virginia; Linda Lou and Rick Clouse of Salvisa; Sue and Ora Porter of Olive Hill; Sondra Hinton Elkins of Wellington; Teresa Ann and Reginald Wheeler of Morehead; and Jennifer Starr and James Morrison of Winter Haven, Florida; one sister, Retha Jennings Trupp of Dayton, Ohio; 49 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Mrs. Hinton was a homemaker who lived for her family. She especially enjoyed cooking for friends and family who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. She was a charter member of the Haldeman Church of God and always put God first in her life.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is anytime at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Memorial tributes are suggested to St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
Willis Ray Jessie
1944-2007
MOREHEAD - Willis Ray Jessie, age 63, of Fleming Fork Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007, at his residence.
He was born March 31, 1944, in Carter County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late William Arnold and Mary Madgeline Eden Jessie.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Ray Jessie of Mansfield, Ohio, and Danny Willis Jessie of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter, Vicki Renee Jessie of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two brothers, Donald Zack Jessie and Floyd Arnold Jessie, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three sisters, Eddie Lee Greenhill, Emily Jewell Black, and Brenda Kay Evans, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Brandon Slone, Jetta Slone, Chance Jessie and Ryan Jessie. The family extends special thanks to Cheryl Lynn Cozzens.
Mr. Jessie was formerly employed as a painter with Bass Hawk of Roanoke, Virginia, and attended the Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dale Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Jessie Family Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Danny Richmond, John Paul Clay, C. R. Greenhill, Bobby Rivers, Mike Evans, Billy Hugh McGlone and Dan Evans.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2007, and anytime Saturday, December 23, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Heather Renee Kilgore Johnson
1985-2007
MOREHEAD - Heather Renee Kilgore Johnson, age 22, of Cranston Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born November 14, 1985, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Joe Loyd and Vicky Lynn Kissick Kilgore of Vanceburg, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Edward Lee Johnson, whom she married
August 28, 2005; one brother, Shawn Nelson Kilgore, one sister, Alyssa Jolynn Kilgore and soon to be niece, Heather Renee Kilgore, all of Lewis County, Kentucky; and maternal grandparents, Nelson and Margaret Kissick of Morehead, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Parthena Kilgore.
Heather graduated from Lewis County High School in 2004, and for the past two years had been an employee of Guardian Mfg. in Morehead. She enjoyed playing softball and singing and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Terry Glover and Brother Ronald Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, William Riddle, Jeff Quesinberry, Eric Kilgore, Jimmy Mabry, and Bobby Kilgore. Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Quesinberry and Lee Surface.
