Estill J. Fannin
FLA.-A graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Estep Cemetery, HWY 377, Morehead, Kentucky, for Estill J. Fannin of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida.
He passed away on February 27, 2006 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, Florida, and a crematory service was held on March 4, 2006 in Florida.
He was born March 8, 1928 at Grayson, Kentucky, son of the late Estill R. and Nellie Ison Fannin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Curtis Wayne Gulley and a sister, Effie Dew of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He had a Masters Degree from both Morehead State University and Eastern Kentucky University, and was a retired teacher and principal of the Carter County Technical School. He volunteered and served in both the US Army and the Air Force. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a Life member of the D.A.V., and was a Mason with over 25 years’ service.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Estep Fannin of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, whom he married
on June 8, 1956, a son, James Dale (Jim) Fannin of Havana, Florida, and a grandson, Jimmy Fannin.
He is survived by three sisters, Iva (Joe) Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Elizabeth (Waldo) Lacy of Grassy Creek, Kentucky, and Della Fannin of Austin, Texas, and nine nieces and nephews,

Hannah Betsy Hostetler Miller
1926-2007
Hannah Betsy Hostetler Miller, age 81, of Orchard Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
She was born January 10, 1926, in Milroy, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late John B. Hostetler and Elizabeth Hostetler. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Cora Byler, and two children, Tobias and Elizabeth Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Menno E. Miller, whom she married
February 14, 1946; five sons, John Miller of Conewango, New York, Eli Miller of Williamsfield, Ohio, Harvey Miller of Troutville, Pennsylvania, Joe Miller of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Jacob Miller of Columbia, Kentucky; two daughters, Anna Miller and Naomi Miller, both of Columbia, Kentucky; 53 grandchildren; and 149 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at her residence by the Amish ministry. Burial will follow in the Orchard Road Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Yoder, Bennie Hostetler, Henry Hostetler, and Paul Herschberger.

Reatha Mae Stevens Watson
1915-2007
MOREHEAD - Reatha Mae Stevens Watson, age 92, of Vandalia, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brookville, Ohio.
She was born October 16, 1915, in Greenup County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Wilson Stevens. Her husband, Ishmael Watson, preceded her in death on October 30, 1967.
She is survived by four sons, Gary I. (Gretchen) Watson of Moreno Valley, California, Larry D. (Becky) Watson of Lewisburg, Ohio, Rodger A. Watson and Rondal D. (Cheryl) Watson, both of Vandalia, Ohio; one daughter, Hazel J. Roderer of Troy, Ohio; two sisters, Frances Kendall of Morehead, Kentucky, and Goldia Martt of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Watson had been a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery. Visitation is from noon Tuesday, October 30, 2007, until funeral time at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Delma Gertrude Cline Jones Austin
1915-2008
MOREHEAD - Delma Gertrude Cline Jones Austin, age 92, of Lafayette, CA, passed away October 26, 2007, in California.
Born May 11, 1915, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Riley Wade and Roberta Caudill Cline. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Linnie Bailey, Lucy Bocook, and Bess Hall, and one brother, Ora Cline.
Her first husband, Ottis Woodrow Jones, whom she wed July 4, 1939, preceded her in death on February 25, 1973. She married
Herman Austin on September 5, 1980, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1985.
Mrs. Austin is survived by one daughter, Sheila K. Williamson and husband David; one granddaughter, Jodi L. Horsman and husband Gary; and one grandson, Kevin Williamson, all of California.
Other survivors include one brother, Edward Riley Cline of Kentucky and Florida; three nieces, Madge Sammons of West Virginia, Faye Sullivan and Chloris Cooper, both of Kentucky; and two nephews, Roy Wade Cline of Ohio and Glen Edward Cline of California.
Delma was an employee of Dr. J. C. Campbell in San Francisco, CA for 31 years and was also a former Assistant Credit Manager in San Francisco.
Mrs. Austin was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Cranston Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Stone officiating.

Gary Wayne Hunt
1945-2008
MOREHEAD - Gary Wayne Hunt, age 63, of Pleasant Valley Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his residence.
Born March 10, 1945, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ernestine Smith Hunt. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Hunt.
Gary is survived by one brother, Steve Hunt of Winchester, Virginia; one very special aunt, Geraldine Elliott of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and very special friends, Nick Ellis and Judy Martin Kelsey of Morehead.
Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a former heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed Bluegrass music, fishing, and camping.
Graveside services and interment will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Evergreen Cemetery North in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with Pastor Donald R. Whiteman officiating.
Visitation is after 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Beulah Fouch Murphy1916-2008
MOREHEAD - Beulah Fouch Murphy, age 91, of Delta Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, wife of the late Sherman Murphy, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
She was born June 23, 1916, in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the late Herb and Lucy Gilliam Fouch. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Fouch and Emery Fouch; one sister, Leona Flannery; one daughter, Wanda Hauck; and one son, Vaughn Lewis.
She is survived by two daughters; Donna Jordan of Clearwater, Florida, and Joan Boone of Lexington, Kentucky; one brother, John Paul Fouch of Morehead; one sister, Hazel Mabry of Morehead; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was employed at various places over the years including Layne’s 10-cent Store, Martin’s Department Store, Allen’s IGA, and the Dixie Grill. She was a member of the Church of God.
In Beulah’s words, “I have gone to see Jesus and Sherman. I love you all.”
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Guy McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dale Mabry, Danny Mabry, Gary Fouch, Joe White, Don Jones, J. C. Jolley, and Rodney Fouch.

Elizabeth “Liz” Pennington Buttry
1942-2008
MOREHEAD - Elizabeth “Liz” Pennington Buttry, 65, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an extended illness.
She was born June 4, 1942, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alta Fraley Pennington. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Randolph Pennington and Ronnie Pennington, and four sisters, Dorothy DeHart, Ann Anderson, Pearl Black and Gemmima Pennington.
Liz is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald Wayne (Specks) Buttry, whom she married
March 12, 1966; two sons, Tony Buttry and wife Tami of Morehead, and Todd Buttry and wife Romy of Gallatin Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Emily and Alston Buttry of Morehead and Bryan Buttry of Gallatin, Tennessee.
She is also survived by one brother, Glenn Pennington and wife Gelana of Morehead; and five sisters, Nadine Downing and husband Jim, Leona Tackett and husband Vernon, Lurene Ison and husband James, all of Morehead, and Laura Pennington and Margery Griffith, both of Fairborn, Ohio.
Liz was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State College. She was an employee of Holbrook Drugs, the director of the Morehead Child Care Center and an employee of Fashion Bug and Goody’s. Liz provided care to her mother for several years. She loved knitting, quilting, working in her flower garden and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Starcher and Pastor Harold Davis officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Gary Black, Gary Pennington, Charles Ray Pennington, Charles Roy Peyton, Keith Pennington, and Randy Anderson.
Visitation was Friday, March 21, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
