Larry Edward Bowman

Larry Edward Bowman, 65 of Baxter, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Larry was retired from the mine supply service having worked at McCombs Supply, Mountain Supply, Virginia Electric, and Mine Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Born in Harlan, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, Reva and Lawrence Bowman; grandparents, Denver and Millie Sergent.
Surviving are sons, Todd Bowman and Tyler Bowman both of Harlan; the mother of his children, Margaret Asher Bowman of Harlan; brothers, Bill Bowman of Baxter and Ronnie (Debbie) Bowman of Lexington; a special beloved cousin, Lisa Metcalf Scott of Putney; and aunt, Thelma Lindsey of Knoxville. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives will also mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Memorial Service following at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Williams will officiate the service with music being provided by Lisa Scott.

Patsy "Gran" (Thomas) Gailey

Patsy Thomas “Gran” Gailey 79 (29) of Stonecreek, Pennington Gap, Virginia, formerly of Harlan passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1935 to the Late Aaron and Ellen “Sis” Thomas. Also preceding her in death were siblings, Bill Austin, Frankie Garrett, Ray Thomas, Johnny Thomas, Fay Belcher, Lori Dotson; grandson, Jamie and Baby Boy Hall; and daughters-in-law, Angie Gailey and Marie Gailey.
Surviving are her husband, Olan “Pap” Gailey; sister, Mary Brooks; and children, Danny “Brother” (Connie) Hall, Deb (Tony) Witt, Tawnya Landford, Ellen “Rink” (Clarence) Johnson, James “Jim” Gailey, Allen “Babe” (Deanna) Gailey, Robert “Bob” Gailey, Curtis (Laura) Gailey, and Angela (Robert) Ingle. 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. Brother David Ely, Brother Roy Webb and Brother Bob Grider will officiate the services.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Allen Cemetery at Cranks, KY.

Anna M. Bailey, 85 of Wallins passed away Wednesday Feb. 10, 2015 at the Ft. Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Bailey was born July 17, 1929 in Bell County, KY to the late Russell and Myrtle Carnes Mullins. She was the retired owner and operator of Merle Normans in Harlan and Middlesboro. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was a member of the Wallins Pentecostal Church, the Eastern Star and a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Paul L. Bailey; her children, David Cerra of Alabama, Eric (Billie) Bailey of Wallins, Mark (Deborah) Bailey of Wallins, Paula Stockhecke of Minier, Illinois; 1 sister, June Bonich Howard of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Tiffany Maggard, Alexis Cerra, Erica DeMaro, Tara Posey, Matthew Bailey, Austin and Bailey Stockhecke; 5 great grandchildren. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday (Feb. 14) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at the 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Roland “Bo” Lee officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blanton-Bailey Cemetery at Wallins with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.

Rebekah L. (Senters) Caldwell

Rebekah L. (Senters) Caldwell, a loving wife and mother passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Georgetown, Kentucky. Born in Columbus, Ohio was raised in Harlan Kentucky. She is the daughter of Shelby Bragg Senters, Cohutta, GA and the late Steve H. Senters SR. Wife of Scott Caldwell. A member of Highland Baptist church, she enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting and was an avid UK athletics fan. She was proudly employed by Toyota for twenty years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Alex Caldwell and Bradley Caldwell; sisters, Sandra (David) Nix, Cohutta, GA, LaDonna (Dwayne) Sellers, Hixson, TN and Barb Senters, Atlanta, GA; brothers, Steve (Marjorie) Senters Jr, Citra, FL and David (Carolyn) Senters, Cohutta, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Highland Baptist Church, Lexington. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 AM until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Highlands Baptist Church, 2032 Parallel Rd, Lexington, KY 40511.

Georgetown - F. Scott Caldwell, 40 of Georgetown, KY formerly of Harlan passed away Sat. Feb. 14, 2015 at his home.
Scott was born Oct. 22, 1974 in Harlan, KY to the late Gary and Patricia Fox Caldwell. He was an assistant football coach at Scott Co. High School, Proud Season ticket holder for UK Basketball and Football, and the best father anyone could ask for.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rebekah Senters Caldwell; grandparents, Fred and Fern Caldwell, Eldon and Julia Fox; his sister, Julia Robinson and her husband Brent; his uncle Ronnie Fox.
He is survived by his 2 loving sons, Alex and Bradley Caldwell; uncle and aunts, Terry Caldwell of Bledsoe, Sherri Davis of Hyden and Carol Fox of Harlan; his cousins, Dale and Troy Fox, and Teri Michelle Kelly; he was a very happy uncle to Noah, Kaya, and Jade Kelly.
Visitation will be Thursday (Feb. 19) from 6-8 at the Harlan Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday (Feb. 20) at the Harlan Baptist Church with Rev. John Ditty and Rev. Brandon Pugh officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith.
Pallbearers will be Alex Caldwell, Bradley Caldwell, Mack Vanover, Denham York, Mike Davis, and Dale Fox.

BAXTER - Robert Asher, 45 of Baxter passed away Sunday Feb. 15, 2015 at his home.
Robert was born Oct. 3, 1969 in Chicago, ILL to Charles Asher and the late Charlene Brock Asher. He was the Manager of the A Plus Rent to Own in Harlan, member of the First Assembly of God in Baxter and an avid UK basketball fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Asher of Baxter; his father, Rev. Charles Asher of Bledsoe; his sister Rebecca (Clark James) Williamson of North Carolina; and a nephew, Asher James Williamson.
Visitation will be Tuesday (Feb. 17) from 5-7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday (Feb. 18) in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Clyde Junior Dixon, 83 of Sawbriar, KY passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Harlan ARH.
He was born July 3, 1931 in Keokee, VA to the late Grant and Lydia Clark Dixon. He was a retired Coal Miner and believed in the Church of God faith.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Dixon and great grandson, Timothy Damion Hensley.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Dixon of Sawbriar; seven children, Ronnie, Timothy, and Junior Dixon all of Kokomo, IN, Debra (William) Hensley of Sawbriar, Carolyn Byrd of Urbana, OH, Jeffery (Sandy) Dixon of New Tazewell, TN, and Tammy Crooke of Rome, GA; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ken Dixon and James Dixon both of Harlan, Bud Dixon of Sunshine, Josie “Boots” Branson of Florida, Joyce Saylor of Sawbriar, Lynn Osborne of Sunshine, and Wanda Dixon of Knoxville, TN; he leaves a host of other family and friends to mourn his casket.
Visitation will be Monday (April 13) from 5 until 7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
