Jeffrey Allen Pittman
Born: Sun., Feb. 2, 1964
Died: Sun., Apr. 12, 2015

Jeffrey Allen Pittman, 51 of Lejunior, KY passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Harlan ARH.

Jeffrey was born Feb. 2, 1964 in Harlan, KY. He was a retired coal miner with 26 years of service. He attended Victory Baptist Church. He was UK’s # 1 fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Pittman.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tracie Pittman of Lejunior; his children, Ashley (Derrick) Owens of Harlan, Kellie (Denny) Jones of Cotes, KY, April Pittman of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Dylan Owens, Abrielle Jones, Kade Jones, Alexis Vargas, Isabella Vargas; his mother, Joyce Watkins Pittman of Ages/Brookside, KY; Brothers, Jerry (Karen) Pittman of Ages/Brookside, KY, John (Connie) Pittman of Columbus, OH, Jamie (Tracy) Pittman of Ages/Brookside, KY; sister, Jolee (Randell) Begley of Lejunior, KY; father & mother in law, Dallas and Merna Lloyd of Lejunior, KY; sister in law, Christina (Terry) Eldridge of Closplint, KY; special pet, Abby; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Tuesday (April 14) from 6 until 9:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday (April 15) in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Freeman and Rev. Jesse Kinder officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.

Jimmy Eugene Brock
Born: Sun., Feb. 16, 1947
Died: Mon., Apr. 13, 2015

Jimmy Eugene Brock, born Feb. 15, 1947 in Harlan Co., KY left this life on April 13, 2015 in Lexington, KY to be with our Heavenly father and his one true love, his wife Marie Brock.

He was a retired coal miner who lived in Harlan Co., most of his life. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

He besides his wife he is preceded in death by his Jack Brock, Sr; sister, Mildred Sanders, brother Ronnie Brock, Sr, and a special sister in law, Shirley Brock.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Tammie (Terry) Osborne and Tanya (Jerry) Thomas all of Coldiron; 4 grandchildren, Shandale (Jonathan) Marcum, Michael Thomas, Rayshia Johnson, and Jake Thomas; his mother, Elva Mae Brock Baker; 8 brothers, Gary (Alice) Brock, Jack (Liz) Brock, Timmy Brock, Wayne Brock, Danny Brock, Joe Brock, Johnny Brock, and James Brock; 4 sisters, Carolyn Haywood, Vicky (Casey) Simpson, Kathy (Don) Cottrell, and Linda Bowling; 2 special sisters in law, Delores Payne and Anita Brock Brigmon, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews to also mourn his passing.

His family has chosen to not have any services and ask that all who knew and loved him to remember the man he was. The man he was before he lost his wife, and to have peace in knowing that he did call on our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and went peacefully with his daughters by his side.

Robert (BOB) Lee Noe
Born: Thu., Jan. 27, 1944
Died: Wed., Apr. 15, 2015

Robert (Bob) Lee Noe, 71 of Cawood passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Harlan ARH.

Bob was born Jan. 27, 1944 in Harlan, KY to the late Herman Cecil and Mary Elizabeth McKenzie Noe. He was a retired coal miner, former member of the Harlan Co. Rescue Squad, Harlan City Police Chief and Harlan Co. Deputy Sheriff. He was a proud KY Colonel. He attended Cawood Church of God Mountain Assembly.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, H.C. Noe and Frank Asher, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Billie Jackson Noe of Cawood; his children, Susie (Jim) Roddy and George Robert (Doris) Noe all of Cawood; grandchildren, Matthew Roddy and Madison Cornett; he leaves nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing. He was a loving and outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. He was a true friend to everyone in and around our community. He loved animals and birds, especially his dog, Lucky.

Visitation will be Friday (April 17) from 5 until 7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Stewart officiating.

Graveside services will be 12:00 pm on Saturday (April 18) at the Pope Cemetery at Cawood.

Harmon W. Lee
Born: Tue., Jun. 8, 1943
Died: Sun., Apr. 19, 2015

Harmon W. Lee, 71 of Miracle, Kentucky died April 19, 2015 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was son of the late John and Sara Lee and had worked for the State Highway Department. Harmon was an avid UK Basketball fan and loved to raise a garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee; four brothers, Glen Lee, Rob Lee, Gabe Lee, and Jim Lee; and one sister, Ollie Jackson.

Surviving are three children, Bill (Melissa Lee) Lee of Miracle, Lonnie (Claudette) Lee of Holland, MI, and John (Juanita) Lee of Wallins; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Tyler, Sam, Alonna, Sasha, Bobbie Joe, Seth, and Ross; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Kinzley; two brothers, Lewis Lee and Bill Lee both of Pathfork; and three sisters, Myrtle Wilder of Harrogate, TN, Cora Jackson of Miracle, and Betty Miracle of Miracle. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including one special friend, Marie Wilder also survive.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. Rev. Roland “Bo” Lee will officiate the services.

Interment will follow the funeral in the Upland Cemetery at Hulen, KY.

Wayne Baker
Born: Fri., Mar. 9, 1945
Died: Thu., Apr. 23, 2015

Wayne Baker, 70 of Harlan, KY passed away Thursday at the UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Wayne was retired from the A & P Grocery Store as head stocker and was manager at Save-A-Lot for five years and worked as a dispatcher with the Harlan City Police Department. He was son of the late John and Elsie Baker. He was a lifelong resident of Harlan and a member of the Harlan-Sunshine Church of God. Wayne proudly served his country in the Army in Korea.

Survivors include his wife of 46 full years, Mary Baker; son, DW (Christy) Baker of Lexington; grandchildren, Caleb Wayne and Braxton Lee. Also surviving are brother, John (Jackie Howard) Baker of Lexington; sister, Helen Moore of Harlan; and brother-in-law, Jessie Wallace of Longwood, FL. Several special nieces and nephews, other relatives and a very special friend Dana Church of Apopka, FL will also mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Harlan-Sunshine Church of God.

Funeral Services will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Harlan-Sunshine Church of God with the Rev. Nick Noe officiating. Seth Carmical will provide music.

Interment will follow the funeral in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. James Billings, Hollace Wilson, Tony Noe, and members of the Harlan City Police Department will serve as Pallbearers. Harlan County Sheriff’s Department Roger Edward Bowling and Roger Allen Bowling will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Members of the Harlan Honor Guard will provide military rites.

Gene Edward Pressnell, 90 of Harlan passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Harlan ARH.

Gene was born August 5, 1924 in Briceville, TN to the late John and Alice Williams Pressnell. He was retired route agent with the Knoxville News Sentinel. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served his country during WW II.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, William A. and Verlin Pressnell; a sister, Vireda Lindsey.

He is survived by his nephew, Denny Pressnell of Florida and niece, Sissy Hessnius of Virginia.

Visitation will be Thursday, (April 30) from 5 until 7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Burial will be private at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
