Suddith Rawlings
1917-2007
MOREHEAD - Suddith Rawlings, age 89, of Ringos Mills Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born July 14, 1917, at Ringos Mills in Fleming County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Ella Jackson Rawlings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Preston Rawlings in 1933, and one sister, Venetta Opal Rawlings Sorrell in 2004.
On October 8, 1936, he was united in marriage to Christine Black Rawlings, who survives. In addition to his wife of 70 years, other survivors include one sister, Wanda R. Maxey of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; one great nephew, Harold Dean Sorrell of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, special nephew, Clarence Wallace and his wife Bertha and special great nephew, Robert Scott Wallace and his wife Joy.
Mr. Rawlings, a renowned cattle and horse trader, was the State Assistant Road Foreman for 20 years and the Fleming County Road Foreman for five years. He attended Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and the Rev. Lowell Rice officiating; burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers were State Representative Mike Denham, Jerry Ravenscraft, Tim Vice, Albert Prewitt, Gerald Saunders, Russie Saunders, and Bill Wagoner.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Jane L. Ramey, age 65 of Winchester, formerly of Pikeville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at her home.
A native of Pikeville, she was born September 23, 1945, to the late Fred Ramey and Ruby Moore Ramey Hatcher.
She was a retired math teacher for the Clark County School system and a member of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by two nephews, Jay (Carol) McGhee of Pikeville and John Ramey of Erlanger, and one niece, Cindy (Terry) Wright of Pikeville.
She was preceded in death by a sister Suzy McGhee and a brother, John Ramey, Sr.

Helen Lambert Riddle
1917-2007
MOREHEAD - Helen Lambert Riddle, age 89, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007. Born she born June 10, 1917, at Wrigley, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Agnes Ratcliff Lambert. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Millard Riddle on September 26, 1986; her son, Charles Lavern Riddle on March 6, 1973; one grandson, Jerry Neal Riddle, in 2001; three brothers, Ivan Lambert, Clay Lambert and Ray Lambert; and two sisters, Darlene Lambert and Kathleen Lambert Cundiff.
Mrs. Riddle is survived by three grandchildren, Jimmy Riddle of Clearfield, Kentucky, Mike Riddle of Morehead, Kentucky and Lisa Riddle of South Portland, Maine; six great grandchildren, Spencer Burke Tyson, Joey Riddle, Chris Riddle, Adam Riddle, Elisabeth Riddle, and James Riddle; two brothers, Warren Lambert of Reesville, Ohio and J. M. Lambert of Clearfield, Kentucky; and four sisters, Bonnie Dillon of Morehead, Kentucky, Bethel Lissel of Hamilton, Ohio, Faye Lambert of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Roberta Smedley of Sabina, Ohio.
Helen was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For many years, she was also a loving babysitter for several children. She was a member of Charity Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating; burial will follow in Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Riddle, Adam Riddle, Jimmy Riddle, Mike Riddle, J. M. Lambert, James Lambert, and Danville Lee Mynhier. Lawrence Earl Smith
1928-2007
MOREHEAD - Lawrence Earl Smith, age 78, of Blairs Mill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007, at his residence. Born February 16, 1928, in Elliott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John and Prudie Cassity Smith. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Bolin on September 4, 2001; two brothers, Hershel Smith and Joseph Smith; and two sisters, Katherine Smith and Emma Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona Mae Reynolds Smith; three sons, Arlie Smith of Blairs Mill, Kentucky, Roger Smith and wife Donna of Morehead, Kentucky, and Timmy Smith and wife Renee of Blairs Mill, Kentucky; one daughter, Elvona Smith of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Olivia Glover and husband Brian, Jessica Hammonds and husband Scott, Jason Litton and wife Angel, Heather Smith, Ethan Bolin, and Kordell Smith; and two great grandchildren, Madison Glover and Wyatt Glover.
Mr. Smith was a retired carpenter and former employee of Packs, Inc.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Madden and Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery on Route 7 in Elliott County.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Litton, Brian Glover, Kendall Trent, Gale Thornsberry, Judge David Blair, Troy Wayne Howard, Scott Hammonds, and Daniel Kegley.
Danny C. Thornsberry
1950-2007
MOREHEAD - Danny C. Thornsberry, age 56, formerly of Oak Grove Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
He was born December 1, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, and was the only child of the late Harve and Rachel Slusher Thornsberry. He is survived by several cousins from his mother’s side of the family and was particularly close to Wyoma Hall and her husband Sam of Morehead.
Danny served in the U.S. Air Force and later graduated with bachelor and master degrees from Morehead State University. He taught in the Harrison County school system, and was a substitute teacher in Rowan County. He was also a former employee of the Morehead Utility Plant Board. After leaving the field of education, Danny pursued a writing career at home with his beloved dog Moe. Avalon published two stories Coltrane’s Journey and Resurrection Valley before he became limited by illness. By Danny’s request, there is no visitation. A private service will be held. Arrangements by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
William "Bill" Blevins
OHIO - William "Bill" Blevins, 45, of Miami Heights, known as the creator of "Candy Land" Christmas display on Zion Rd., passed away Tues., Jan. 2. He lived with his wife, Tori Lynn Blevins, his daughters, Krystal Lynn & Wendy Nicole & his son William
James II. Bill's parents are Finis W. (Bud) & Minnie Blevins of Miami Heights. Other relatives include brother Ted & wife, Evie, of Cecelia, KY, sister Sue & husband, Roger Grace of Grove City, OH, sister Ellie & husband Doug Lee of Deputy, IN, brother Dennis & wife, Brenda Blevins, of Bright, IN, & sister, Tamme & husband Ronnie Smedley, of Clearfield. Christine McKinney Caudill
1911 - 2007
MOREHEAD - Christine McKinney Caudill, 95, of Largo, Florida formerly of Morehead passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in the Largo Health Care
Center.
She was born on September 18, 1911 to the late Bert and Amy Lee Bailey McKinney.
Mrs. Caudill was a retired librarian and teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Caudill who passed away on December 7, 1985, one brother, George Roger McKinney, two half-brothers, Morris McKinney and Osmond McKinney and two sisters, Dorothy Workman and Mary Adaline Souder.
Survivors include one son, Frederick Michael "Mike" Caudill of Largo, Florida, one brother, Charles Elbert McKinney of Panama City, Florida, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery. Visitation is after Noon Saturday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Ollive C. Justice went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 12, 2007.
He was a graduate of Pikeville High School and Eastern Kentucky University.
He was a well known builder and the owner and operator of the Pikeville Cabinet Center.
He retired from the building profession and returned to teaching and retired in 1988 as a Regional Coordinator in Vocational Education.
He was also an avid Ham Radio operator for many years (N4IT) and in his later years, enjoyed building and programming computers.
Ollive was a veteran of World War II, which he served four years.
Ollive C. Justice was a member of the Pikeville Freewill Baptist Church.
Ollive C. Justice was born in Pike County, Kentucky on February 10, 1922, the son of the late Layne Justice and Nellie Compton Justice.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers William Justice and Donald Justice and one sister Mary Lou Bentley.
Ollive C. Justice is survived by three daughters Lillian Sword her husband Cecil of Richmond, Kentucky, Judith Ann Rohr her husband Don of Crestwood, Kentucky and Mary Lynn Justice of Pikeville, Kentucky.
Also survived by five grandchildren Randy Sword of Lexington, Robert Sword, Mike Sword both of Richmond, Stephen Sword of Versailles and Lane Rohr of Crestwood, Kentucky.
Ollive C. Justice is also survived by one brother, John M. Justice of Indiana.
Also survived by seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and five nieces.
Ollive C. Justice will be sadly missed by his family, loved ones and many friends.
