Joseph Ray (Joe) Branham
1940-2006

MOREHEAD - Joseph Ray (Joe) Branham, age 65, of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his residence. Born November 20, 1940, in Hillsboro, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Belva Green Branham and Nellie Mae Egan Branham. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters-Betty Jean Branham and Ruth Jewell Story and three brothers-Hiram Branham, Walter Green Branham, and Roy Reeves Branham.

Joe is survived by his wife-Gloria Mae Riddle Branham, whom he married on December 3, 1960; two sons-Billy Joe Branham and his wife Shirley Ann of Morehead, Kentucky; Jackie Ray Branham and his wife Nancy Ann of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters-Michelle Bowling and her husband Billy of Morehead, Kentucky and Melanie Thompson and her husband Billy John of Wallingford, Kentucky; six grandchildren-William Jason Branham, Bobby Joe (B.J.) Branham, Brandon Ray Branham, Cameron Joseph (C.J.) Branham, Josie Ann Thompson, and Jacie Mae Thompson; one great grandson-William Blake Branham; one brother-Ivan Branham of Hillsboro, Kentucky; and three sisters-Ruby Turner of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; Lida Vice of Richmond, Kentucky; and Janie Branham of Hammond, Louisiana.

Joe was a truck driver and mechanic and the owner and operator of Branham Trucking. He loved NASCAR, old Chevy automobiles, and his family. Joe was of the Baptist Faith.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charlie Riggs, Pastor John “Butch” Kelsey, and Pastor Edward C. Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Jason Branham, B. J. Branham, Brandon Branham, Jeff Logan, Kent Logan, Keith Logan, Sonny Logan, and Tom Anderson. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

George T. Karrick
1940-2006

MOREHEAD - George T. Karrick, age 66, of Dogwood Drive, Wellington, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006, at his residence. Born January 3, 1940, in Bath County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Walter Caleb Karrick and Mabel Louise Basford Karrick. He is survived by two sons, Britt Karrick and Roger Karrick, both of Lebanon, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia Karrick of Lebanon, Ohio; and one brother, Walter Irvin Karrick of Clearfield, Kentucky.

Mr. Karrick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1958 and was retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio.

Private graveside services were conducted Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Jones Cemetery in Midland, Kentucky. Arrangements were by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Ruth E. Litton
1922-2006

MOREHEAD - Ruth E. Litton, age 84, of Egan Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 30, 2006, at her residence. Born May 6, 1922, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Benton and Vinesa Alma Mabry Egan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Litton, on July 12, 1983, and her brother, Rudolph Egan on October 8, 1986.

She is survived by one brother, Charles Egan, Jr., of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Litton was an employee of the Citizens Bank for 42 years and served as Branch Manager before her retirement. She was also a former teacher in the Rowan County school system. A 50-year member of the Morehead Order of Eastern Star No. 227, she was a Past Matron. Ruth attended the Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ben Furman and the Rev. Don Evans officiating; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Egan, Jeffrey Egan, Mike Spurlock, Danny Purdy, Steve Perkins, Don Litton and Bobby Rogers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006, with Eastern Star Services to be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Morehead Order of Eastern Star No. 227 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Caroline (Carrie) Razor Bullock

INDIANA - Caroline (Carrie) Razor Bullock, 95, of New Castle and formerly of the Mt. Summit area died Friday evening, March 23, 2007 at The Waters at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

Caroline was born in Salt Lick, Kentucky and moved to Indiana with her parents, Chris and Ida Spence Razor. Caroline attended Sulphur Springs and Mount Summit Schools, where she graduated in 1929.

She was a member of Mt. Summit Christian Church a former Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. She was a former member of Home Demonstration Club, Assistant Postmaster at Honey Creek and retired from New Castle State Hospital where she was employed from 1957 until 1973.

Survivors include her three sons: Charles (wife: Jolene) Bullock of Springport, John R. Bullock of Mooreland and Marc E. (wife: Dianna) Bullock of Middletown; ten grandchildren: Warren Bullock, Russell Bullock, Sheleatha Aldridge, Joni Bullock, Kelli Bullock, Amy Ransdell, Anessa Jacobs, Andrea Napier, Fred Price IV, and Angela Wall; a sister: Christine Garner; special friend: Fran Bullock; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Warren Helm Bullock, in 1971; a daughter: Martha in 1950; five sisters: Lillian Hole, Opal Scrogham, Mary Jane French, Veda Rogers and Naomi Pugsley; and two brothers: Glenn Razor & William Razor.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Summit Christian Church with envelopes available at the funeral home. Carl E. Caudill
1925-2007

DAYTON – Carl E. Caudill, 81, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Glencare Nursing Home in Cincinnati. He was born Sept. 30, 1925 at Morehead to the late Henry and Laura Davis Caudill. He also was preceded in death by his wife Mary; four brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are two brothers, Cecil of Marietta, Ga., and Cleo Caudill of Huber Heights, Ohio; one sister, Mary McRoberts of Morehead.

Carl was a member of South Park Baptist Church at Dayton, Ohio.

Services were Friday, March 23, 2007 at New Comer Funeral Home at Kettering, Ohio, with chaplain Joe Stenger officiating. Internment at Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio.

Gladys Binion Cox
1911 - 2007

MOREHEAD – Gladys Binion Cox, 96, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 in the Elliott County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook after an extended illness.

She was born on March 4, 1911 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Luster and Sarah Flannery Binion.

Mrs. Cox was a former employee of The Dixie Grill and Dairy Queen of Morehead. She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers and collecting “what nots”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlen Cox who passed away on September 23, 1996, two brothers, Ray Binion and Riley Binion and two sisters, Naoma Conn and Hazel DeHart.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Bessie Thompson Stacey
1932-2007

MOREHEAD - Bessie Thompson Stacey, age 74, of Big Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born October 7, 1932, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Clyde F. Thompson and Mamie Ithel Glover Thompson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Sue Dailey and Ithel Slone.

Bessie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Clayton Donald Stacey, whom she wed September 9, 1950; two daughters, Diana Whitt and Donna Meek, both of Morehead, Kentucky; three sisters, Mae Collins of Mansfield, Ohio, Ruth Miller of Benton, Kentucky, and Mildred Holbrook of Niles, Ohio; two brothers, Frank Thompson of Morehead, Kentucky and David Thompson of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kelli Fraley of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Kristi McKenzie of Salt Lick, Kentucky, Jaime Spurlock and Kevin Brown, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and Stacey Batchelor of Enterprise, Alabama; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a member of the House of Prayer.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Winston McClurg officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Izetta Brothers Starkey
1921 – 2007

MOREHEAD – Izetta Brothers Starkey, 86, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Lois Starkey-Moore where she resided for the past 7 1\2 years.

She was born on February 9, 1921 in Carrier Mills, Illinois, a daughter of the late Edward and Leona Davis Brothers.

Mrs. Starkey was the widow of the late Chester Starkey, who was the owner and manager of Starkey’s Market and former Mayor of Carrier Mills. Izetta was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Carrier Mills, where she also taught Sunday school and she was also a long time member of the Women’s Club in Carrier Mills and was also past president of the Women’s Club.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Rae Starkey.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Starkey Lentz of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Lois Starkey-Moore of Morehead, five grandchildren, Jonathan Modaff and Kelly Modaff both of Morehead, Mark Chaney and Jeremy Chaney both of Carbondale, Illinois and Jennifer Chaney Harker of Monroe, Ohio, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Lela VanMeter of Norris City, Illinois.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 P.M., C.S.T., Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, Illinois with Rev. Monzelle Hanson officiating. Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
