LIBERTY -- Vernie Marie Alexander, 58, of Maxey Valley Road, Hustonville, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 18, 1941, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Veston and Mae Cox Propes. She was a homemaker and a member of Mitchellsburg Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Alexander; five sons, William Alexander of Junction City, Danny Alexander of Indianapolis, Frankie Alexander of Hustonville, Kent Propes of Liberty and Brent Propes of Junction City; a sister, Mary Tully of Lexington; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Larry Moore. Burial will be in Tapscott Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.

LIBERTY -- Elizabeth Byrd, 68, of Ky. 91 died Saturday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born June 11, 1931, in Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Fannie Sullivan McDonald. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Otha Byrd; three sons, Gary Byrd and Charles Byrd, both of Fredricksburg, Ind., and Larry Byrd of Milltown, Ind.; three daughters, Dorothy Sturgel of Louisville, Vickie Stan of Beacon, Ind., and Nedra Daniel of Liberty; two nephews whom she raised, Jerry Overstreet of Fredricksburg and Joseph Overstreet of Ramsey, Ind.; a sister, Molly Forrest; a brother, Charles Cole of Louisville; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford Dehart. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery.

MORELAND -- Elna Lee Cummins, 79, formerly of Casey County, died Sunday at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born June 7, 1920, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Will O. and Sarah Elizabeth Murphy Lee. She was a homemaker and a member of Maxey's Valley First Church of God. She was the widow of Harry "Doc" Cummins.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelia Brummett of Perryville and Barbara Shepperson of Mitchellsburg; a son, Wayne Cummins of Moreland; a sister, Mabel Wilcher of Mooresville, Ind.; a brother, Dave Lee of Indianapolis; four half sisters, Tina Coffman of Casey County, Irene Justett of Boliver, Mo., Christine Dean of Liberty and Gay Markwell of Versailles; five half brothers, Bradley Lee, Denver Lee and Bill Lee, all of Indiana, Marvin Lee of Casey County and Wince Lee of Versailles; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Wince Lee. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Cordier, Tony Price, Mike Padgett, Lewis Cummins, Rod Claunch and Larry Cummins.
Honorary pallbearers are Letisha Cordier, Dana Padgett and Stacey Price.

LEBANON -- Eugene D. Hartmann, 82, of Texas Loop Road, Springfield, died Friday at his home.
He was a former DES director in Washington. Survivors include two stepdaughters, April J. Smalley of Danville and Jenna Marie Otte of Germany; a stepson, Dennis Otte of Bardstown; and three brothers, Frank, Richard and John Hartmann, all of New Jersey.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lebanon National Cemetery. Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Lewis T. Mason
LIBERTY -- Lewis Talmadge Mason, 58, of Coy Mason Road died Friday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington.
Born Oct. 28, 1941, in Liberty, he was a son of Evelyn Poff Mason of Liberty and the late Homer Mason. He was a former employee of Hyde Park Community United Baptist Church in Cincinnati and a member of Hill Top Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Mark L. Mason of Cincinnati; a daughter, Holly Jo Mason of Cincinnati; six brothers, Glenn Mason of Liberty, Larry and George Mason, both of Cincinnati, Dave and John Mason, both of Edinburgh, Ind., and J.C. Mason of Columbus, Ind.; four sisters, Lorene Hafley of Nicholasville, Elaine Harris, Linda McQueary and Liz Jones, all of Liberty; and a grandchild.

LIBERTY -- Martha Sims, 93, of Bellevue, formerly of Liberty, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Born July 16, 1906, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Myrtie Foster Dick. She was a homemaker and the widow of John Sims.
Survivors include a daughter, Nellie Carrier of Bellevue; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Locke, and a son, Robert Sims.
Services will be noon Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Frank Tucker, 75, of Stanford, formerly of Monticello, died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford.
Born Oct. 22, 1924, in Monticello, he was a son of the late Jerry and Sara Ann Morrow Tucker. He was a retired farmer.

Wilmoth Minor
Services for Wilmoth Putteet Minor, 85, of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Danville, were held today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Andy Baker with burial in Willow Springs Cemetery.
She died Friday in Fairfield after sudden illness.
