Services for Darryl Cayce, 28, Edmunds Street, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moore's Baptist church with the Rev. Bruce Kendrick officiating.
Burial will be in Cave Spring Cemetery. Visitation starts a 1:00 this afternoon, and visitation with the family will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Gamble Funeral Home.
He died at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, on McKee Street, the victim of a shooting.
A native of Hopkinsville, he was born Sept. 29, 1973, the son of Donna Cayce Green, Hopkinsville, and the late Dennis Ross. He was a member of Moore's Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, survivors include three sons, Damarius White, TrayVon Nance and Denevins Duke, all of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Lamonz and Damonz Cayce, Antonio Cayce, all of Hopkinsville and grandparents Ruby and Ed Cayce Jr. and Mary Frances Richardson, all of Hopkinsville.

Kayla Nicole Smith, 3, Jacksonville, Ark., formerly of Hopkinsville, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, in Jacksonville of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Virginia Street Baptist Church with the Rev. M.O. Fort officiating. Burial will be in Cave Spring Cemetery. Visitation this afternoon at Gamble Funeral Home will continue until 7:00 tonight. Visitation with the family will be from 6 until 7 p.m.
A native of Hopkinsville, she was born May 14, 1999, the daughter of Shaun and Nicole Jeffers Smith, Jacksonville.

EDDYVILLE, Ky. -- Charles T. Lamb, 73, Kuttawa, died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Lourdes Hospital, Paducah, following a long illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lakeland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Glass officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery, Eddyville. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday.

PRINCETON, Ky. -- Kevin McGillem, 47, Princeton, died at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at a nursing facility in LaGrange of natural causes.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Vic Hill officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
A native of Evansville, Ind., he was born June 22, 1954, the son of Aubrey S. McGillem, Caldwell County, and the late Edith Woolsey McGillem. He was an electronic technician, was a Marine veteran and a member of Charity Baptist Church, Lyon County.
In addition to his father, survivors include two sons, Harlan McGillem, Havelock, N.C., Zachary McGillem, Henderson; four daughters, Misty Keyfauver, Okinawa, Japan, Keri McGillem, Havelock, Alexandria McGillem, Katrina McGillem, both of Henderson; two brothers, Bruce McGillem, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Aubrey S. McGillem Jr., West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Shelly Cates, Madisonville, Bess Ann McGillem, Henderson, and three grandchildren.
Chastine Vance Maxfield
CADIZ, Ky. -- Chastine Vance Maxfield, 75, longtime Cadiz businessman and civic leader, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at his home following a long illness.
Maxfield was the former owner of Goodwin Funeral Home, and services will be there at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Revs. Phillip Salmon and Andy Buckingham officiating. Retired Army Col. M. Thomas Davis will deliver a eulogy.
Burial with full military honors will be in East End Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A native of Crittenden County, he was born March 7, 1926, the son of the late Isaac Newton and Ina Ialeen Adams Maxfield.
He began his career in 1951 with Goodwin Funeral Home and remained there for 41 years, retiring in January 1992 at which time he sold the business to John R. Vinson III.
He was a graduate of the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science.
A corporal in the Marine Corps during World War II, he fought in the battle of Iwo Jima and the occupation of China. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club and the Cadiz Civitan Club which he had served as president.
He was a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 74 where he formerly served as commander and was service officer for 28 years. He was a charter and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Cadiz.
He was a former member of the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce, had served on the chamber board and was honored in 1991 as Citizen of the Year. He served on the library board of directors, the Trigg County Draft Board and the Cadiz Federal Public Housing Commission.
In the 1960s he served as chairman of the Trigg County March of Dimes, was a member and past master of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Rizpah Temple, the Cadiz Shrine Club, Swigert Chapter R.A.M. and the Scottish Rite.
In 1973 he received the Conservation Award for Outstanding Accomplishments in Conservation, Crittenden County Conservation District.
He was a member of the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association, the Western Kentucky District Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.
He was a member of the Cadiz Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Martha Doom Maxfield; and a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Judith C. Maxfield) Bilyeu, Nashville, Tenn.
