VEVAH HARGROVE
CADIZ, Ky. -- Services for Vevah Hargrove, 67, Cadiz, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Terry Lee McNichols officiating.
Burial will be in Ezell Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation will begin at 4 this afternoon.
She died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a long illness.
A native of Trigg County, she was born Aug. 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Ellis Blane ‘'Trigger'' and Johnnie Jewell Frith Tucker. She was retired from Lake Barkley State Resort Park having worked 20 years in the baking department. She was a member of the Linton United Methodist Church. Her husband, Bobby Lewis Hargrove, died in 1985.
Survivors include a son, Randy Hargrove, Hopkinsville; a daughter, Ruth Martin, Cadiz; a sister, Marilyn Pleasant, Henderson and three grandchildren.
ROSA B. TAYLOR
Services for Rosa Belle ‘'Maureen'' Taylor, 76, Canton Street, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. C. E. Timberlake officiating.
Burial will be in Cave Spring Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Babbage Funeral Home, and visitation with the family will be from 6 until 7 p.m.
She died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
A native of Hopkinsville, she was born March 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Sanford and Willie Mae Moss Haskins. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Taylor Jr.; four sons, Richard L. Taylor III, Jacksonville, Fla., Robert M., David A. and Michael A. Taylor, all of Hopkinsville; five daughters, Penny E. Taylor, Las Vegas, Nev., Carolyn S. Taylor, Sandra F. King, Ida M. Taylor and Sharon D. Taylor, all of Hopkinsville; two brothers, the Rev. Thomas Haskins, Evansville, Ind., Ben O. Haskins, Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Lillian Boyd and Delois Hawkins, both of Hopkinsville, Daisy Kendrick, Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

CADIZ, Ky. -- James Moody Oliver, 73, Cadiz, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Graves County following a long illness.

GARTH HOOKS SR.
PRINCETON, Ky. -- Garth Hooks Sr., 79, Kuttawa, formerly of Caldwell County, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Hilltop Nursing Home, Kuttawa, following a brief illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan's Funeral Home, with the Revs. Tommy Tackett and Ronnie Hooks officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Church Cemetery, Lyon County. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday.
A native of Lyon County, he was born Jan. 31, 1922, the son of the late Thomas Gray and Maude Ramey Hooks. He was a retired farmer and factory worker and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church, Princeton. His wife, Helen Haskins Hooks, died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, Garth Hooks Jr., Caldwell County; two daughters, Phyllis Curling, Winterhaven, Fla., Brenda Ramey, Sherman, Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
FELIX A. LEAR
PRINCETON, Ky. -- Felix A. Lear, 69, Princeton, died at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Western State Nursing Facility, Hopkinsville, following a long illness.

ELMORE CALVIN
Services for Elmore ‘'Mose'' Calvin, 87, Sanderson Drive, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Lawrence officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight.
He died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at his home of natural causes.
A native of Christian County, he was born Oct. 9, 1943, the son of the late James and Emma Henderson Calvin. He had retired after more than 34 years service with the Christian County Road Department and had worked as a self-employed mechanic. He was a Baptist. His wife, Mary Calvin, died in 1952. A son, Wayne Calvin, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister, Margie Parrish, Hopkinsville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Edith Curry Andrews, 98, Christian Health Center, died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the health center of natural causes.

CHARLES NEWSOM
PRINCETON, Ky. Charles Newsom, 66, Princeton, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Caldwell County Hospital following a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Newsom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 tonight at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. at the church until time for the funeral service.
A native of Caldwell County, he was born Aug. 1, 1934, the son of William Robert Newsom, Caldwell County, and the late Lola Mae Rogers Newsom. He was a farmer and a member and deacon of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Head Newsom; a son, David Newsom, Caldwell County; a daughter, Mrs. Ty (Lori Ann) Harper, Fredonia; and three grandchildren.
THELMA S. GAMBLE
Thelma Seay Gamble, 84, Nelson Drive, died at 2:00 this morning, Nov. 9, 2000, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a brief illness.
